  1. Hard to tell much here. If the problem only exists with the headset plugged in then it may be the headset or the interface. So same problem with stock L6 headset and Countryman headset? Looking at file through a waveform editor I see nothing but smooth consistently symmetrical results. For clicks I would expect to see some unrelated little spikes in the waveform. Could you be experiencing something more like a distortion as opposed to clicking? Does switching channels make a difference? Does switching modes make a difference? Does switching venues make a difference?
  2. Knowing a few more things would be helpful Do you hear clicks when not plugged into the mixer? Are you using the factory power supply for the receivers? Balanced cable from the receiver to mixer? Do you hear clicks with no mic plugged in? Wireless mic never see a true ground reference and can pickup all kinds of junk in the air. Also can you email me a wav file? Compressed formats have their own issues :) dboomer@line6.com
  3. I have seen problems like this when the speakers were plugged into surge protector type power strips. Were yours? The systems are also somewhat sensitive to low voltage (below 100v) so running long extension cables could become a problem if the voltage from the wall also happened to be on the low side.
  4. He may think he's too quiet but his guitar/piezo system thinks otherwise. It's true that he might not be loud enough to be heard but feedback doesn't care about that. :) Here's what feedback actually is ... he plays a note and that note goes through the system. The system sends it out in the air and some of it gets back to his soundboard and piezo where it gets picked up and sent back out. If it gets there at a lower volume then it went in then it gets sent through at a lower volume and as you can see quickly dies out. But if it gets back at equal volume or louder then when it was originally played the next time it gets picked up and set through it comes back even louder and it will keep building and building as the loop continues. Usually the frequency response of these loops is not perfect and the FBS works by pulling out some of the peaks (which are very narrow). Once the FBS has pulled out a number of narrow peaks and only wide peaks are left it stops being helpful because at this point it would simply be turning down the overall volume. So FBS is helping some but not as much as you need it to. So in his case the soundboard is concentrating the regeneration in one big group and there is nothing electronic that can fix it. He can either turn down, move father away from his monitor so the sound from it won't get back to it as loudly or make some mechanical compromises to de-tune the problem. He has no other options ... well, or switch to electric :D
  5. If switching the piezo channel to include FBS didn't help much then you have a very difficult problem. That would mean that the sound back to the guitar is so loud that is is resonating the body back into the saddle pickup. Have you tried a Feedback Buster plug in the sound hole?
  6. You cannot really re-name them. But just load it and do a "save as" with a new name. Then delete the original. Keep a backup with all the old names and also a new one with the new ones (preferably on a separate thumb drive).
  7. Sorry that sometimes my answers are shorter than I'd like. That's usually because I'm sitting at an airport and trying to catch up on questions using my phone. I should add ... that by nature the dongle WI-Fi routers require the mixer to do a lot of additional processing to get the wi-fi up and running. When you use an external router it handles that load requiring much less from the mixer itself.
  8. You could make a series of backups each with a more limited number of setups.
  9. It's a limitation imposed using wi-fi. There's just too much data needed to be sent that it can't happen in near real time. Same wi-fi limitation prevents streaming audio back to the iPad so that you could hear it out the headphone jack.
  10. But I would like to suggest that you think about using an external router. The dongles are not as powerful and because you often set them at desk height that can easily be blocked out by the audience. Yes it's more expensive but you'll get much better performance.
  11. The good news is that you can store almost an unlimited number of setups. And the scenes that go with them automatically come up when you select the scene. Unfortunately there is no mechanism that would allow you to store single scenes outside a complete M20 backup. Hopefully you can come up with a better scheme to name them for recall.
  12. Switch modes to RF2 to use the Crypto function.
  13. I'm not suggesting reformatting the card. But you do need to create a file for the recording. You do that on the mixer. You have to make sure you are still on the same setup on the mixer and have a file on the card.
  14. IEM transmitters and wireless receivers in the same rack are also a problem. Easiest way to deal with this is to use a set of remote antennas.
  15. I know the ipad control will be much smoother. Those little dongle routers aren't very fast or robust so i wouldn't be surprised. Ill do some checking tomorrow and let you know.
  16. You are using a dongle router? There's not a single answer to how many iPads. It's more like how much data? I have used 5 of them connected via an airport express. I have also looked up the system using 10 of them. Still not seeing if you are recording at the same time while having problems.
  17. First I would advise moving your router out of the rack or move the receivers antennas. Transmitters no matter the frequency should not be in close proximity to receivers antennas. Unfortunately you cannot shut off the 2.4g on the airport express so it is always interfering with any other 2.4g systems you might have in the room. Switching batteries should not have changed rf modes. But you should be able to see it in the transmitter when it is switched on in the LCD window. Of course if somehow it ended up in rf2 while the others were in rf1 I would expect problems.
  18. I think the two issues are unrelated. I am unaware of any reported clicks with the exception of older L3 firmware. The 1.05 update corrects that. How have you determined that the clicks are not part of the incoming signal? With reference to iPads, It Is likely that the screen refresh rate can be affected if you use multiple iPads and make a fair number of movements from them. There's not really a way to quantify it any better. It is also somewhat affected if you happen to also be recording simultaneously. But you are not overrunning the CPU. It's only the video driver that is affected so I don't believe that could be the source of any clicking.
  19. Clicks? Are you connecting to Line 6 speakers via L6 link? Are you also using an iPad.
  20. Press and hold the select button for 2 seconds to enter setup mode. Once the CH number flashed press select 3 more times to enter Crypto mode. I would advise not using it with music and only use it when privacy is necessary. There's no problem but it can lead to confusion when you need to switch things around in a hurry.
  21. First ... All L2's have 1.05 firmware so there is no need to update any of them. Forgot to ask ... But I'm assuming your cables are no longer than 50 feet and you don't have any cables extended ( you can't use two 25's plugged together for example). Other than that those should be very good cables assuming they are in proper working condition ( and don't believe that just because they are new that is necessarily true). Does the clicking happen all the time and on all the speakers? I have seen problems happen if a cable gets kicked and the system tries to re-enumerate the cabinet. So if you can check and see if it just happens to the last speaker in line or if it happens to every speaker next in line after a specific box.
  22. What model speakers are we talking about? How many speakers were connected when you hear the clicking? What brand of AES mic cables are you using for L6 link hookup?
  23. Hey Riley If you heard an improvement in the sound of the speakers it is because something else in the system changed. The update only affects a possible L6 link issue.
