Ipad App - Suggestions For Improvement
dboomer replied to larryhennessee's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I wish it could too and I also wish that I could monitor the audio outputs of the mixer through ear buds plugged into my ipad. But unfortunately they would both require so much data sent back via wi-fi that the latency would be so bad and the speed that the mixer could respond to movements on the iPad would come to a standstill. So until wi-fi improves significantly don't be expecting either to happen. -
Green Day Rocking A Stagescape System
dboomer replied to dboomer's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Certainly a big improvement to using a cell phone to record your audio ;) -
I would recommend using the feedback manager in the mixer only and not in the speakers in almost all situations. The difference is that the mixer applies filters only to the input channel while in the speakers they are applied to all signal that goes through them. Either way there are 12 filters available but only one set for the speakers while 12 sets in the mixer are possible (XLR inputs). So it's possible that you could end up with 144 filters in the mixer (unlikely though :)) The filters themselves are not linked via L6 link.

Stagesource L3t In Electric Guitar Mode
dboomer replied to isomtech's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
No ... they are a woofer and a midrange. The L3 is a 3-way system. Using a guitar as a sound source you are likely not getting much from the top speaker except when you play your lowest notes. Intuitively that may seem off but it has to do with pattern control. -
RF2 is a method to deal with a different kind of interference. To use it successfully you must scan for open channels. In RF1 mode you don't need an open channel so it's generally easier to use. In any case you can't use both at the same time. I would suggest switching your new unit to run in RF1 mode. See post #15 above. You would only need to update your old unit if you want to run in RF2 mode. You can switch the new G50 transmitter with button pushes on the transmitter. The receiver will automatically switch over.

Do you mean the whip antennas as supplied with the system? The answer depends on what cable you use to connect them. If you use small cable such as RG-58 or LMR-195 then I would consider 10 ' the max and 6' even better. There is a lot of loss in the cable. If you use LMR-400 or RG-8 then maybe double that distance.

L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
dboomer replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Those are very expensive Burr-Brown chips as used by some of the most expensive mixers on the planet. They are by no means cut-rate and there's no "doctoring up" necessary. -
Problem Using L3t With Pod Hd Pro And Jtv59
dboomer replied to wicker_man's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Stange symptoms that it works fine with the mixer but not with the direct speaker inputs. I can't tell anything from the recording that is useful. I guess you'll need to contact the service department and have them check it out. -
Problem Using L3t With Pod Hd Pro And Jtv59

Btw... How does the speaker sound if you run pre-recorded music into it using the RCA jacks on the back? -
Problem Using L3t With Pod Hd Pro And Jtv59
dboomer replied to wicker_man's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Hello wicker First, it would be normal to hear almost all of the sound of a guitar through the bottom woofer as not much goes to the tweeter or to the top woofer which carries the lows. It also would be difficult to mic an L3 as you would need to back the mic up to about 3 or 4 times the distance that represents the height of the speaker cabinet. Close mixing won't work. What version of firmware does your speaker have? Have you tried switching speaker models back and forth and then coming back to reference PA? -
Do I Need Direct Boxs For Acoustics? M20d
dboomer replied to JeffersteinVS's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Depends on your tolerance for problems. You'll probably get away with it 99 times out of a hundred. Feelin lucky? :) Without it you will have some high frequency loss and likely some extra noise. And maybe a taxicab someday. -
Recording Time Limits
dboomer replied to johndkeene's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Individual tracks are limited to the 4G limit. But the number of sessions you can have on a card are limited by the total card size. So a smaller number of tracks recorded will give you more sessions than a larger number of tracks on a given card. I would recommend that you start and stop when possible. I would at least start and stop after each set. Otherwise you end up with huge file sizes which do take some time to manipulate on your DAW. It might not be obvious ... but if you record the stereo 2tk LR then that track being stereo will be shorted than recording a single mono track. And when you get to the limit of that stereo track it will stop the recording. So plan ahead :) -
Stereo Pair Inputs On 1-12?
dboomer replied to SiWatts69's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
The easiest way is to select a stereo preset such as stereo keys and modify it. There is a stereo overhead icon you can adding to it when you finish the preset. -
A Few Feature Requests ...

Maybe you are misunderstanding a bit. The 4 global effects are in parallel and not in front and behind so to speak -
Combining Xd-v30, Xd-v70 And Relay G 30 - Tbp12 And Tbp06
dboomer replied to Peterix's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
Mixing is fine. All line 6 transmitters will connect with all models of Line 6 2.4G receivers. Just set them to the corresponding channels. But remember that a 12 channel transmitter connected up with a 6 channel receiver can only run 6 channels. -
Stagescape App Only Working With Extended Network
dboomer replied to ltmsc's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Are you plugging into the LAN input (the one that looks like arrows? You will be setting up a local network and not connecting to the internet. -
Hey Ryan The bottom half of the LCD screen shown the time left in hours and minutes and there is a little battery icon that shows full and empty. Also there is a battery LED near the top. Blue is normal and it turn red when you hit the last hour of battery life.

My first choice would be to run your wi-fi at 5ghz. IPads will run this way but only 5s phones will run at 5ghz. Also your wi-fi will run twice as fast and you get lots less interference with your wi-fi. Belkin N-600 router is a good one for this. Second choice set your 2.4g router to channel 1 and run XDV in RF2 mode on channels 1-5.. Neither wi-fi nor XDV will interfere with each other. But you will have to install the newest firmware to get Rf2 mode in a V70. Either way it doesn't take a bunch of work to make it happen.

Yes. V1.02 cannot be updated using the Monkey updater and must be returned to the factory for upgrading.

sounds like you have an old version of firmware. What is running in your unit? -
Foot Switch "clicks"
dboomer replied to Digital-sound's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Don't think of it as an "on and off" switch. You don't have to hold down the switch. What happens is every time you press it it changes "state", in other words it switches from the state that it is currently in to the other state. And the next time you press it it changes back. Boss FS-5u is a good example of a momentary switch (sometimes called a "non-latching" switch. You should avoid those footswitches labeled "latching", "on/off", "Normally closed" or "normally open" -
Recorded Levels Vs Playing Levels
dboomer replied to litesnsirens's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Assuming something isn't physically broken ...They are only recorded at the level you set the trims to. And that is the exact same level you send on through the mixer. It is most likely that signal would be even louder because you''l probably be adding eQ and efx which increase the gain. So they way to solve the program is to figure out what you have told the mixer to do to get this to happen. Somewhere buried down inside something a button or a level has been switched. If you can email me the backup of your system I can examine it here because when I try it on my system it does not happen. Send to email it to boomer@line6.com
