  1. Which device, Helix or Behringer, do you have (want to have) your speakers/momitors connected to? Specify that device in your Windows Audio settings and adjust your PC (not Helix) audio levels accordingly. Edit: I removed the question re: OS. I noticed you specified Windows.
  2. The proper method is the one described in the update’s Release Notes. In general, Line 6 Updater should only be used as a recovery procedure in the event of an update failure. Since Line 6 Central is recent there have been no updates whose Release Notes would specify its use. All update so far specify using HX Edit. So I guess the answer to your question will be known when a new update is released that specifies using Line 6 Central.
  3. That will work but it brings up what, for me, would be a more troublesome issue: maintenance. When you tweak the preset over time (and you know you will!) you will have to repeat those tweaks in each copy of the preset. Also, you will likely want some sort of preset naming convention to distinguish among them in your preset name display and backups; you don’t want all copies to use the same preset name. Personally I would find it easier to press two footswitches - one to select the preset (with the default snapshot active) and then immediately a second footswitch to activate the desired snapshot. If practical you could use the Stomp/Preset display so the snapshot change is always available at your feet.
  4. Are you using any amp model in the POD Express? Normally you don’t use a typical electric guitar amp with an acoustic guitar because it’s hard to get a clean acoustic tone. However, you could try using the cleanest amp model (Princeton?). To minimize the tone coloration keep the Gain low and the Channel Volume high. But the tone may still not be as clean as you want for an acoustic guitar. In that case you could try using an external preamp to boost the signal before it reaches the POD input, and turn the POD amp model OFF. Often an acoustic guitar that has pickups also has an onboard preamp; try increasing the volume level. Otherwise you may need to obtain a studio preamp that minimizes any tone colouring.
  5. I don’t understand what you’re getting at. Perhaps it’s just terminology. Is ‘Sunset’ the name of a preset, an FX block, or something else? You talk about turning a preset on and off. That’s confusing. At all times there is exactly one preset that is active (don’t think of it as being ‘on’). The active preset is replaced by a different preset (not ‘turned off’) when you activate/select a different preset. You can turn FX blocks within a preset on and off. You don’t turn presets on and off; you activate/select them. There is always exactly one preset active at all times.
  6. You can force a preset to be mono (single Tone) by using the Dual Tone button in the main Control Bar. Click it off and your preset will collapse to a single Tone with mono input. If the problem persists try lowering the Input Level using the input Control knob. Hope this helps.
  7. You could upgrade from POD Farm v2.0 to v2.5. I don’t know what the upgrade cost would be or if there’s a discounted cost for v2.0 owners upgrading to v2.5. The current flagship Line 6 plug-in product is Helix Native. There’s a free trial period. It includes a polyphonic pitch shifter. Other options include the Metallurgy collection.
  8. Actually it’s the cab block itself that has a mono output, so yes you lose the stereo nature of any FX placed before the cab. Also a cab/IR block is critical to the sound so the tone will change dramatically (usually for the worse) when you turn the cab off. For best results I suggest you place your FX Loop after the cab in your preset’s signal path and cable your delay pedal in the loop. Make sure you use TRS cables in the POD Go Send/Return jacks. I presume that’s what you are doing with the Y-splitters. And don’t turn off the cab unless you are compensating somehow (e.g. by using a physical guitar cab in the 4 Cable Method (4CM)).
  9. POD Farm 2 and 2.5 include a monophonic pitch shift FX. It is good for single note solos but not very good for chords/rhythm guitar. It is not intended to be used for detuning the entire guitar; mostly used for harmonies during solos. Pod Farm 2/2.5 is a very old product now. It is unlikely that a polyphonic pitch shifter (virtual capo) will be added.
  10. Read The Manual https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a41edfe64823e79e9cdc/application/pdf/Helix LT 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf
  11. Is your firmware up to date? It might not make a huge difference but the v2.0 firmware introduce a new cab engine that I and others found to be a big improvement.
  12. …. moved to the POD Go forum, where POD Express lives ….
  13. To be fair, the idea of making electronic devices smaller began in the 1950’s or thereabouts when mainframe computers occupied entire basements of office buildings. I guess you mean you started an Idescale topic about it. What exactly do you mean by a smaller footprint Helix that is different from, say, the HX Stomp XL? I’d like to be able to wear a fully functional Helix on my wrist, or wear it on my belt like the size of the new POD Express. But there are certain physical size constraints. I haven’t done the exercise but it might be interesting to envision the minimum footprint required to physically accommodate all the Input, Output, FX Loops, Variax, USB, Optical….. hardware connectors, to say nothing of the 12 footswitches, that the Helix Floor or Rack/Control offer. Could they conceivably fit all that in a Stomp XL footprint? I don’t think so. Seems to me there’s not a lot of wasted real estate on the Helix Floor or Rack/Control. And once you start cutting out the hardware you’re no longer talking about Helix. You’re left with…. well, something like the HX family including the Stomp XL.
  14. You don’t mention what Helix device you have, but here’s a quote from the Helix Rack manual. ”MIDI Bank/Program Changes Helix responds to traditional MIDI CC, and Program change messages from an exter- nal MIDI device (or from MIDI software via USB) and will recall setlists, presets, and/ or snapshots accordingly.” Consult the MIDI section of the manual for your device.
  15. You mean they don’t work FOR YOU. The Line 6 specification says they DO work for Win11. So the only way Line 6 can help to get them to work for you, or understand what they need to do in developing a new driver, is to work with YOU via a support ticket. Or, you can simply continue to claim that they don’t work and demand a new one. Good luck with that.
  16. Check the section on reset options ….
  17. The Helix should work as an update interface using Line 6 Monkey. However for some reason it wouldn’t work for me using Line 6 Central.
  18. Visually inspect the ribbons inside the RJ45/VDI cable and its connectors, on both the Variax and the Helix. They can sometimes get bent. If so, fashion a small J-hook from a thin wire and gently reposition the ribbons. Also using a guitar cable and a VDI cable simultaneously is not a good idea. I know you only did it for test purposes but just be sure you don’t do it regularly. In fact, I always remove the battery when using VDI to be sure no issue develops from the dual power source. Overly cautious probably but better safe than sorry. Oh, and make sure your Helix preset Input includes Variax. (Please don’t be offended by this basic question. Sometimes the simplest and most obvious things are overlooked).
  19. Forgive me for asking such basic questions but we know nothing about your experience with Customtone, and this is your first post. So…. Have you used Customtone successfully before? The Customtone Download action does not load the preset into your Line 6 device. It simply downloads the preset file to the Downloads folder on your computer (or wherever else you direct the default download location). There may be no notification to you that this has been done. Check your downloads location. After downloading the file you need to use the device’s Edit program to load the presets into your device.
  20. I suggest you open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support.
  21. Use the Downloads tab at the top of this page. In the middle (software) field select Catalyst Edit.
  22. I do this too and have observed the same behaviour. I have learned to live with it because I haven’t found a way to keep the level smooth. I would welcome a solution also. While you can change the taper from linear to logarithmic using the Curve parameter, that only applies to an FX block like Vol and perhaps Wah. There is no such Curve parameter associated with the pedal itself, so it is not applicable when using a pedal as a controller for another block’s parameter(s).
  23. I don't own or have any experience with this amp but from some quick research and your photo I have a couple of observations that may be helpful: 1) Wikipedia says this amp has "Optional footswitch control for reverb, channel switching, and boost". 2) Your photo shows Channel and Boost functions controlled by the same hardware jack. So that leads to a couple of questions: 1) Are you sure your specific amp has the Channel switching capability? 2) If so, do you need to change some setting in your amp so that the hardware jack distinguishes between a footswitch controlling the Channel or Boost functions?
  24. I don’t have any experience with that amp, but there’s a section in the manual that described using the Looper for preset auditioning. It specifies a Routing parameter in the looper that is set to PRE. I presume that means it can also be set to POST. Try that.
