  1. I would perform a factory reset first (well, 2nd. 1st would be making a backup). If problems persist reinstall the firmware. If problems still persist open a support ticket.
  2. Why? They still work and there’s no reason to believe they will suddenly stop working. When a product is discontinued (and all products eventually are) it doesn’t cause existing units to die. Yes, if the electronics die in the next year or two it will be bothersome. But there’s no reason to believe they will, and it will be no more bothersome than any other piece of electronic equipment you use. Enjoy your guitars! After 10 years I still use my JTV-59 every day, and it’s never needed repair.
  3. There’s always a flurry of update issues reported here immediately after every new firmware release on any product. In the vast majority of cases it’s because people didn’t follow the instructions. I’ve noticed that after they successfully install by following the update recovery instructions only a few return to tell us that, so it’s reasonable that you might anticipate issues. It’s always a risk to update any device when you need it soon. Personally I wouldn’t have done it now with a gig next week. Glad it worked out for you. I think if there were any real show stopper bugs they would have been found by now.
  4. If the recovery procedures (see link above) aren’t working for you then open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 Technical Support
  5. Check Global Settings. The Footswitches and Preferences settings both have options to control display and behaviour re:Snapshots. The manual has details.
  6. I think it’s also noteworthy that Line 6 was acquired by Yamaha some years ago and the Line 6 brand is now housed under Yamaha Guitar Group. Since acquisition YGG has focused Line 6 brand development on its multiFX guitar processors, which complements rather than competes with existing Yamaha products. Competing lines such as StageScape and StageSource were halted in their tracks. I haven’t seen anything new in Line 6 wireless mics since then either. Variax development has also been invisible even though Variax Standard was based on a Yamaha guitar build. I wouldn’t be surprised if the future sees some Line 6 technology incorporated into some Yamaha products. Perhaps some of this has already happened in Yamaha digital mixers and speakers. It could happen with guitars; we might someday see the next generation of Variax technology in a Yamaha guitar.
  7. If you are sure you have followed the instructions exactly and it’s still not working I suggest you open a support ticket. Follow the Support tab at the top of this page, then choose Contact Support.
  8. Since the v1.4 installation was successful it sounds to me like a different USB cable and port solved the issue. I would try updating to v2.0 again. There’s no reason to think v2.0 installation will fail after v1.4 succeeded.
  9. You can do it in one jump, although updating from that far back might involve a second update that you will be notified about. My only, and strong, advice is to follow the update instructions carefully and exactly. Just as a precaution use your current version of HX Edit to create a full backup. Then begin the update by downloading and installing the HX Edit v3.6 package. Then run HX Edit and follow the instructions.
  10. That should be no problem. Make sure you use Global Settings -> Ins/Outs to set the main output level to Instrument, not Line. This matches what your Reverb pedal will be expecting. Also make sure the levels match between your Reverb pedal output and your speaker input(s).
  11. If the $$ doesn’t matter I would get the Stomp. Just be sure that you won’t be disappointed heaving only 3 footswitches.
  12. Highly subjective but for me definitely yes. As for the rest of your questions - experiment and decide for yourself. Let us know what you think.
  13. Well, there’s your answer. Your HX FX has two Send outputs. The Stomp XL has only one. I suppose you could mess around with external splitters or adapters that would take the one stereo output and feed two signals to external equipment and route them back to the different Returns, but each signal would be one half of the stereo signal, L or R. And you couldn’t place the two Send signals at different points in your HX Stomp preset. Sounds unlikely that you’ll get the same results as your HX FX.
  14. Does the HX Stomp XL have 2 FX Loop circuits?
  15. I don’t think you need to ‘sign the rights over’. I believe your license allows you to run the program on multiple computers. So you could download and install Helix Native on his computer and log in to your Line 6 account. Then run Helix Native in his DAW. It will probably ask you to authorize his computer and then it should operate normally. It’s possible that you are already at the maximum number of authorized computers. If so try to deauthorize one in your account. You might need to contact Line 6 Support to get their help in doing this.
  16. https://helixlib.com/ Helix Preset Viewer Vulcano FX: Helix/HX Stomp preset-snapshot online viewer Helix Preset Viewer Helix Preset Viewer They're all different. Take your pick. Also they may no longer be actively supported and not up to date with current firmware.
  17. The HX One offers ONE FX at a time. So no, you can’t simultaneously have some sort of EQ (crossover), chorus, and compressor active.
