  1. First I am suggesting that you identify the versions of both Helix firmware and HX Edit that are running. Don’t assume that because you installed HX Edit v3.70 that it is necessarily the version that is actually running when you start the program. Weird things happen. Open the HX Edit program, select the Help -> About menu, and check the versions of each that are identified. Let us know the result and we can advise further from there.
  2. Contact Line 6 Support (see link at top of this page).
  3. Symptoms like this usually indicate that different versions of Helix firmware and HX Edit are being used. Check the versions of each using HX Edit, the About… menu item. Sometimes a new installation of HX Edit fails to replace the previous version. There can be different reasons for this which can be explored next. First, determine whether or not different versions are being used.
  4. I’m not arguing with you, and don’t want to. You asked if others are experiencing this. I told you I’m not and suggested the best way to deal with it. Rationalize all you want. You’re right - doesn’t make sense. Yet it’s happening. Do whatever you want about it, or nothing. Up to you.
  5. Try a different USB cable? They sometimes fail spontaneously. Still,a support ticket is the best way to address it .
  6. Mine is working fine on v3.70 (Helix Rack and JTV-59). Make sure you are running v3.70 for both your Helix device and HX Edit.
  7. That’s not normal and points to some communication issues, likely USB related, between your computer and the POD Go device. I am not having any similar issues with my Pod GO updates. Since a computer configuration is highly specific I don’t think you’ll get much satisfaction from this forum. I suggest you open a support ticket.
  8. Couple of things…. There is no plugin product for the POD HD series as there is for Helix; in other words there’s no POD HD Native. The physical knobs and switches on the POD HD won’t directly control any Helix Native functions. However, the POD HD ProX supports some MIDI capability. So does Helix Native. This may not be practical because POD HD devices do not include USB MIDI functionality. There will need to be additional hardware and MID cables to pass THRU the POD generated MIDI commands. That could itself be a MIDI controller which would render the POD HD superfluous. If you want to pursue this figure out some way to get the MIDI commands into your computer. Then read Appendix B in the POD HD ProX manual for the details of what your POD can do. Then read about how to set up Helix Native to respond to MIDI commands. Along the way, take some Advil.
  9. Please describe exactly what you mean by ‘won’t work’.
  10. Are all three pedals assigned to different footswitches, or is the same footswitch assigned to more than one pedal?
  11. I’ve moved this to the ‘New Forum for Disussing Tones’ (see new banner at the top of this page). Seems like a good candidate for what this new area is for.
  12. Good news. Yes - always begin the firmware update process by downloading and installing the latest version of HX Edit.
  13. Are you sure you are saving the preset after adding the cab and before backing up?
  14. That's right. There's no prompt to perform the factory reset. it's a recommendation in the installation instructions as shown above.
  15. I’ve moved this topic to the appropriate sub forum in the refreshed Tones Discussion area.
  16. And there’s nothing wrong with printing out large, high quality photos of all the pictures you want and wallpapering your bedrooom….
  17. Flaw? Don’t know about that. But in Native there is an option to show the pictures. You’ll find details in the manual.
  18. It makes no difference that your presets are in setlists 1 and 2. It simply means you have overwritten the factory presets in those locations. If you want them you can get them back by doing a factory reset and then moving your own presets to other setlists.
  19. After a firmware update it is normal for all presets to be rebuilt. It is also normal for any newly loaded presets that were created in older firmware to be rebuilt on the first startup after they were imported. What you described is normal except, of course, for missing cabs. That is highly unusual - virtually impossible in fact. What it possible is that you use IRs rather than stock cabs, and it is quite possible that those are missing, depending on what steps you actually took after the update. For instance, if you performed a factory reset after updating, as recommended, your previously installed IRs were deleted. If you did not restore them from the backup file then, yes, they are missing. My advice is to perform a factory reset again and then restore almost all items from the system backup file that was created during the update. In particular, restore the IRs. The items you don’t want to restore are the latest factory presets (setlists #1, 2, and 8).
  20. If you want to be thorough you can download the Helix Cheat Sheet to a mobile device and learn the operational basics. Then you can prepare a test plan for yourself to systematically test all knobs and switches. That will let you run through the plan when you test the device, knowing in advance what you should expect the knobs and switches to do and comparing actual to anticipated behaviour.
  21. Yes, bring headphones and a guitar to try before you buy.
  22. You could ask about Helix Native which is available at a one time discount all Helix devices. If the original owner hasn’t used the discount it is still available for the next owner. Is it still available for that device?
  23. Yay!! I refer to this book often and appreciate the free updates.
  24. Try the Studio Tube Pre model in the Preamp -> Mic section. There’s also the Tube Drive model in Distorion -> Legacy. Those are the first ones that come to my mind.
