HX Stomp XL FS8 Assigned to Bank Down not working with midi - bug?
silverhead replied to DdC441's topic in Helix
Yet pg 67 declares CC#56 to be reserved for future use. Contradictory info in the manual. -
Are you using a Line 6 device? If so, which one? If not, pose this question in an Android device Internet group.

HX Stomp XL FS8 Assigned to Bank Down not working with midi - bug?
silverhead replied to DdC441's topic in Helix
The manual (pg 67) indicates that a certain range of CC# values are reserved for further use. Both CC56and CC57 are among that group. Hence their behaviour is unspecified and unpredictable. While certain things might work it is accidental and unintentional. In particular, avoid using cc128 (see manual). ;-) -
Light Under Model Knob Not Always On
silverhead replied to steveglock's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Is it just the light that’s not working while the model switch happens as expected, or is the model not switching either? The answer to that will determine whether the fault is with the physical knob operation or just the internal LED. I’m not aware of any way to replace the 3-way toggle with a 5-way. At best it would be a complicated solution as you say. -
Check Global Settings -> EXP Pedals. There is a Position setting to specify how the position of the pedal behaves: Determines whether the Helix expression pedal positions are recalled per snapshot, per preset, or applied globally. If you want a Volume Pedal or Wah to maintain its position when switching presets, set this to “Global.”

DL4 MK2
silverhead replied to skyelevator's topic in DL4 MkII / DL4 / MM4 / DM4 / FM4 / AM4 / ToneCore
I see a lengthy description of everything you can do with external footswitches on pg 14-17. However I don’t see any mention of being able to control the TapTempo feature using an external pedal/footswitch. Perhaps I’m missing it. Can you be more specific about exactly where you are seeing that? -

I don’t believe the Tap Tempo function can be controlled by an external pedal. It’s controlled by the Tap Temp switch on the top panel of the DL4. You can, however, use the MIDI Tempo Sync feature as described in the manual. -
Are you using a Line 6 audio interface to your computer? If so, which one? If not you may get some helpful general hints here but this is specifically a Line 6 user support forum. You should also seek help in more general audio forums if you are not already doing so. Also, please provide more info. What type of computer are you using -Windows or Mac? What version of operating system? How exactly are you connecting your speakers and headphones?

I use DT990s and don’t use any global EQ. I’m satisfied with the sound from my cans on the tones I normally listen to through FRFR PA speakers. Maybe it depends on whether you want to ‘match’ some other tone that you normally hear. And that in turn depends both on the speakers you use and the volume you listen at. I think you’d have to factor those variables into your question.

Actually Line 6 updates its manuals only at major version number releases so I expect the next manual updates will happen with the release of POD Go firmware v2.0, whenever that is. Meanwhile the incremental changes are documented in the Release Notes accompanying each firmware release. Updating manuals is a huge effort due to legislated language requirements. They can't just update the English versions - for good reasons. Just for kicks, go to the Manuals page and look at the filter at the very right side of the page to see all the languages for which a manual is available. Having said that, it is inconsistent. The latest Pod Go manual states that it is v1.20. Yet there's a Pod Go Edit v1.40 manual. Go figure. I expect the lawyers can explain.

Line 6 no longer provides printed manuals. They are available online in pdf format which permits more efficient updates and distribution. You will need to download and print if you want a soon-to-be-outdated manual.

Check the HX Stomp section….

It will be an instantaneous change. An alternative method is to leave both amps on (no snapshots needed) and assign the same footswitch to control the Channel Volume of both amps. Use opposing Min/Max pedal levels to blend the mix of each amp, with the toe and heel positions providing the equivalent of an on/off switch for the respective amps.

Command Center Snapshots not going back to "original state"
silverhead replied to BmanTaz's topic in Helix
There’s a Global Setting -> Preferences called Snapshot Edits that determines whether Snapshot changes are maintained or discarded when you leave a Snapshot. You want to set that to Discard. -
There is software called Workbench HD that is an editor for later model Variax guitars including the Shuriken. Line 6 Monkey is used to install the Variax firmware. In either case you need to connect your Variax to a computer using the Variax USB Hardware Interface which is included with new Line 6 Shuriken guitars. You should have that unless you bought it used and the seller did not include it.

Computer Guitar Input For Native
silverhead replied to titchyblackcat's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
I suggest plugging your guitar directly into your KA 6 to record the dry signal for subsequent Helix Native processing. You could also use an ‘empty’ Helix LT preset but this would involve extra A/D and D/A conversion which could afffect signal quality. There’s another alternative you didn’t mention. You could use your Helix LT as the audio interface just for recording the dry signal, which is an option with the Helix LT ASIO driver. But I expect you would not be able to notice any difference between that and my above suggestion. -
Check to see if your VOL block’s Level parameter is assigned to the Snapshot controller, and whether it’s value changes between snapshots.

You can set the level of the incoming USB audio in Global Settings -> Ins/Outs. Sounds like you should lower this setting to balance with your normal Stomp output level.

It’s called Customtone. See link at top of this page.

Or, as Einstein so famously declared, E=Fb. And also Gus Saves.

Hopefully you did not get it primarily for vocal processing because it’s not designed for that. It has no Mic input. You could try setting the input level to Instrument rather than Line but I’m not sure whether that would resolve the issue, which is that your mic is sending a Mic level signal and that is different from either Line or Instrument level. You might need an external device of some sort to boost a Mic level signal to either Instrument or Line, something that provides a mic preamp function that is included with a Mic input on vocal processing devices.

I’m not sure there is a replaceable hard drive in the device. I don’t know how Line 6 provides long term storage but I would be surprised if it uses a non-proprietary replaceable drive. In any case, I’m curious. How did you determine that a hard drive needs replacement? I would open a support ticket.
