  1. I purchased a used spider V 120 through GC and had it delivered to my house. Upon arrival, i excitedly plugged it in, only to find out it did not work, no sound, no display. So I took it back to GC and returned it. The GC staff was great and offered me a very good discount on a new Spider V 120. So I accepted and took my brand new amp home. After about 10 minutes of playing, I was scrolling through the amp section, when unreadable text started running across the bottom of the display. Noticing this problem, I powered down in hope of solving the problem with a hard boot. Upon powering up, the display no longer works. The amp works but I have no idea what is being played. I haven't had a chance to hookup a phone or tablet yet to see if that interface works, but even if it did, I would want the amp display to work. I haven't found any posts around this particular issue as of yet. Does anyone know if there is a simple way to resolve this problem before I return the amp. 2 strikes for line6 at this point in my book. Thanks for the help. Bo
  2. Hi eveyone! I am thinking to buy the Spider V, but I actually tryed just the 60w version of the amp, and I actually like it! I actually play Death-Metalcore and I need this amp for recording at home (USB/ Emulated Output to Audio interface / Shure SM57), and also to play some live concerts (small gigs) and with my band in small practise room. I am reading about REALLY BIG differences between the 120w and 240w version about: -Volumes (people changed their 120w with the 240w because it was not enough loud to play in live concerts) -Sound Quality (stereo vs mono seems to make a big difference) Since I don't have the possibility to try them in the store, is anyone able to tell me if there's really all this big difference? Is worth to spend more money to have 240w? Is really the 120w not loud enough? Is the 240w good to play at low volumes? Also, did anyone have any issues about latency while recording with USB ? Thanks everyone! :D Keep playing
  3. Deutsch Français This document explains how to update the Spider IV (75, 120, 150, 150HD) using the FBV Mk II and Line 6 Monkey using Windows XP, Vista, 7, and Mac OSX 10.4.11, 10.5.8, and 10.6.x. Before you get started, you will need to have your Spider IV connected to the FBV Mk II (Express or Shortboard) using a CAT-5 cable, and you will need to have your FBV Mk II unit connected to an open USB port on the back of your computer (do not use a USB hub). Be sure that your computer is connected to the internet. Here is a video that shows you how to update your Spider: Close out any other applications running on your computer before updating the amp. This update has been successfully performed many times by our users. If you experience connection/timeout issues: Try another USB cable. Ensure that the pedal is NOT connected to the computer through a USB hub. Avoid plugging into USB ports found on keyboards, monitors, or laptop docks. Make sure to connect the interface into a USB port directly into the computer, especially into the back of a desktop. If problems persist, make sure to try to get a connection on all of the USB ports on your computer. If you continue to not get a good connection, you should try the update on another computer, as the first one may have a configuration issue. It is best to also try on a different network in the event your network's configuration is causing the connection issues. Satellite internet, dial-up connections and tethering to a phone are not supported by Line 6. Line 6 Monkey Instructions: 1) Run Line 6 Monkey and you will be asked which unit you want to work with. 5. Hello, I recently bought a FBV Shortboard MKII to go with my Spider IV 120. I've connected up to my laptop using the correct cables with the intention of updating the firmware and using Spider Online. However, I downloaded Monkey and tried to update the Flash Memory update for the amp. Every single time I try, I get the following message. "Spider IV 120 update failed. (Code 8000000A) An undefined error occurred. Try the update again making sure the cables are still connected." Now I can't use the amp at all, as it's stuck on a menu saying "Ready to Update." I also cannot seem to factory reset the amp at all. I really don't know what to do. PLEASE help anyone?! :(
