hideout
Anyone out there know of the Helix maintains its user preset memory with a lithium battery like ye pedals of olde?
tjbassoon
I would imagine it's flash memory, like an SD card. You talking like the old NES cartridges? That'd be crazy old tech that'd be more expensive than just flash memory.

phil_m
There’s no batteries in the Helix.

Just curious myself. I just continue to be surprised by what remnants of old tech the bean counters force manufacturers to use to save a penny. Even when the newer tech has come down to reasonable prices, the glut of old tech that is cheaper still are foisted upon us. Case in point, transformer based external and internal power supplies. Well, if there "was" a "Lithium" battery like on PC's that save Cmos settings, you would have to replace it every 5 years or so. But Phil just stated there was no battery so that's a good thing.
