  1. I've done some googling and stared at some schematics and have come to the same conclusion as you, and I believe you are correct here. the sag control in the preamp models makes sense to me as you described above.

  2. Agree 100%. I take full responsibility for not having a back up at the ready. If nothing else, the failure forced me to develop a backup plan which, for the short term, is the Helix. I still use the modeling tech via an HX Stomp, but am not completely reliant on it. Granted, the current pedalboard isn't as flexible as a Helix, but I find I only used a couple presets with a couple snapshots in each. The amp model I leaned on the most in the presets was a Twin, so grabbing the real deal made the most sense. I love the Derailed Ingrid, but can use pedals to get close to that tone. At the end of the day, I would prefer the simplicity of the Helix and a PowerCab, and will eventually get back to it. For now, however, I'm getting my 'Analog' on and it's working pretty well.

  3. same here..just upgraded to a new M1 Pro and now Helix Native is broken. I'm using logic. I get a failure to load. ok...after review this thread (thanks datacommando) I read the Apple M1 KB and Line6 is saying to turn on the "run in Rosetta" flag for your DAW which I assume will run your entire DAW in emulation mode. I can see this as a sort term fix but sort of defeats the whole purpose and wonder if there are any latency issues..etc. Anyone have any experience? thanks D

  4. It just means the preset has been changed from its saved state. Expression pedal position is saved with the preset, so that’s why it shows up when you move the expression pedal.

  5. it works! Has to play with the global settings. Sounds great. WAH/Volume/Expression all in one and it does not take up much space.

  6. I can certainly understand a drop in faith when gear lets you down... I have been there many times over my 40+ year career. That said, I have never ditched an amp just because a tube failed... I have never ditched a pedal because a jack or switch failed, I have never ditched a guitar because a pickup failed and I will never ditch my Helix if a preset became corrupt. Those are the reasons I carry backups to my gigs and have always carried backups to my gigs. The concern is when "tubes continue to fail", or "presets continue to become corrupt". IE: Don't let the "one-offs" scare you away! Just my 2 cents.

  7. Cheers Dave, hopefully it’ll be fine, I love the helix and powercabs, be a shame if I have to launch it out the window.

  8. The biggest "monitor" affecting the fidelity of the listening is the room. I do mix with 5" because my home studio is a perfect and small cube, so everything above that speaker size would mean a boomy fest, even with the acoustic correction on the walls. Size of the speakers is just one of the many variables in the equation...

  9. @HonestOpinion I had a very hard discussion on big FB page about this opinion and I was banned, democracy is not their best quality... So this will be free for all, I'd need money in this bad moment of life but this not the way to gain them. Of course I like every kind of appreciations :)

  10. While I agree that Line6 should do more to support the Vetta and it's users, adding USB to an amp that never had it would be over the top so I can not agree with that. That would be more along the lines of reengineering and development, not support. Especially difficult when you consider that the Coldfire processor which was the main processor chip used in the Vetta is now obsolete as are both DSP chips. The rest of the popcorn parts are still out there and avaliable, fortunately for us, those are the parts that typically fail.
