  1. Thank you very much! Now I have lots to play with, but not too much.

  2. Totally get it. It's not specific to the in-ears. Just more obvious. When running from the xlr straight to the mixer, it also drops in the mains (directly in front of the speaker to confirm). It's absolutely bonkers. I still have more testing to do though. Thanks all for your responses.

  3. Everybody likes different stuff and has different needs so there is no objective answer. However... the JCM 800 Brit 2203 has received lots of high praise. The sound of rock that is on soo many 80s and 90s records. If you check it out beware of the bright cap on the gain pot (Drive parameter) - lower settings make the amp thin and harsh. The Line 6 Oblivion amp model is awesome for mid to high gain stuff - it starts where the 2203 ends gainwise. Not far from those modern EVH high gain amps. There is a new F7nder silverface Bassman model (US Dripman Nrm in the bass amps category) that is really nice from clean to crunch. Like the 2203: bright cap on Drive warning (if "Bright" is on). And the Line 6 Clarity is a super clean amp model that works well with pedals - such as the new Nobels OD-1 model (Pricedrive). The new cabs are cool, try the Fullerton models (Tweed Deluxe) with it's new 1x12 counterpart - rock'n roll!

  4. Today's Generative AI and Machine Learning is mostly recreating things that already existed as captured in their training sets. That's great for making this content more readily available and reusable, pending IP rights issues. The AI models can possibly produce some interesting new results based on validation errors and hallucinations. But AI can't currently create Line 6 Litigator, one of the best amp models in Helix. So an interesting question to explore might be: How can AI help someone like Ben Adrian be more creative, innovative and productive to produce the next new products that could be fed into future training sets to progress the industry? Or will AI just reduce the need for creative engineering while the product owners maximize profits from products of the past, saturating the market with the same things over and over?

  5. Your initial diagnosis may be correct, the overall volume is going down because of phase cancellation. That would show on the mixer meters and in your IEMs if your backline is out of phase with your FHO speakers. Flip the phase in Helix or at the mixing desk and see if the problem goes away.

  6. You can use a Send block at any chosen location in the signal chain of your LT preset. Connect the corresponding physical outputs to FOH and your amp respectively and set the Output Levels to match the receiving device.

  7. Again, what about the Helix Output Block meter? That really is the best way to tell if it's the Helix. What do you mean by "when I crank the amp all the way"? If you're cranking the amp's MASTER, then you could be hearing the natural compression of the amp's power tube emulation. Although, 15-20db does seem a lot. Does it do the same thing when you use the Channel Volume or the Output Block Level? I'm really just spit balling here. This is a behavior I've never seen anyone else report before.

  8. Hiya I left a jack plugged in which unsurprisingly drained the batteries. The first replacements I tried did nothing despite a factory reset. With the 2nd lot it powered up briefly then nothing... Any tips appreciated, joe
