I was just going to ask if the Helix had a polyphonic pitch glide in store for us but I have been beaten to the punch. Hook us up with the link on ideascale when you create it and I will be happy to vote for it too.

Just got done giving the patch a try. I did not see pianoguyy's post till just now. I converted it with the conversion utility and loaded it via HDEdit. I played through my Alto first and then tried going out of the L unbalanced out into the effects return of a DT25. Unfortunately, the warble is still present, but I am using a POD HD500X and not a PODHD Desktop. Joel, thanks again for sharing the patch.

Thanks. I don't have a PODHD Desktop but will try to convert it for use in my POD HD500X. I will respond with the results.

Doesn't Line6 cover this repair, even if it is bought used, if the user pays for shipping? Just want it to be clear if someone else reads these posts and has the same problem.
-
I'd be much obliged if you could provide the patch that works for you. I have a variety of pickups and amps to try it with.

Exactly. That was one strange movie. The "Brown 25" clip is still funny to me, even though I'm not stoned. Thanks for finding it.

Seems to me like the Tone Match that is created in the Axe FX is going to be unique for the guitar (and other equipment) that was being used to create the Tone Match. I would not expect a downloaded Match to sound the same with different gear, but maybe it gets pretty close. That being said, is the Tone Match created in the Axe FX the same thing as the IR files that can be used in the Helix? (It might be a proprietary file format but was just wondering.)

ARE YOU SAYING I'M NOT A SUPER, DUPER CLEAN PLAYER? Just kidding. Thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated. It was what I previously thought but the previous posts got me all riled up. The pitch glide does a great job on single note leads. It is a very convenient option when the singer needs a drop by a semi tone or two. Cheers!

I am positive, in my case, this is not a case of hearing the acoustic sound of the strings on my guitar as well as the sound from the speakers. I crank it up pretty good. This warble, binaural-like effect is definitely coming from the pitch effect through the speakers. In the past I have thought that the pitch effect was not made for polyphonic use, but with the previous posts of others being able to play chords with no warble, I wonder what the difference might be. It is not as noticeable with a G Barr chord, but when I play C9 up to E9 the "pulsing" sound actually changes frequency. The fact the Glenn is able to use this effect without the warble makes me wonder what I am doing wrong. Glenn, just to double check, you do not get this "pulsing" sound effect when playing certain chords like C9 in a patch with only the pitch glide in it? P.S. - I tried using both the L and R unbalanced in the same Alto today and it made no difference.

bayoubill, did you notice any difference in settings between your POD and your friend's POD? I'm wondering what version of Flash is in the PODs that do not experience this problem. I'm bummed because my 500X has this effect as well. One note is fine. With two notes the effect becomes noticeable and becomes much worse with increased polyphony. It's almost like the sound I hear when I turn on the ceiling fan on when playing, only worse. The ENGL obscures it a bit but it is still quite apparent. I ran only the pitch glide (PITCH: -0.9, MIX: 100%, FX TYPE: Pitch, FX MODEL: Pitch Glide) in the patch; no amp. Input 1 = guitar, Input 2 = Variax Studio/Direct into an Alto 112A through the L unbalanced. I tried Input = guitar, dual pitch glides in paths A and B, unplugging the USB to my iMac, switching to all the other output modes, changing Guitar In-Z, changing the Tap Tempo speed. I tried headphones since my girlfriend is sleeping, otherwise I would have plugged both L and R unbalanced outputs into the Alto or into individual Altos. It actually seemed to help a bit but it is what comes out of the speaker(s) that matter to me. I have all the latest updates. Can't imagine what else it could be. Sure would appreciate anyone else giving this a try to see what their results turn out to be as far as any noticeable warbly, binaural-like effects.

Welcome, audionutmike! Be sure to come back and let us know what you think of the Helix after you have had a chance to experiment.

Maybe it is loosing attention, but I still get support, a recent update and the prices for the HD500X are still $500 new. Not sure about the "etc." :)

Even the Helix has a bug. Didn't you see the Sweetwater video? -
Just for grins:

Yes. That is another option using the aux in but that is a mono input I believe. The Effects Loop on the GK is mono as well but it is before the internal Echo and Chorus effects. I really like the chorus on this amp and am interested in how it will sound through the Altos I bought recently. Effect Loop The effects loop, located on the rear panel is provided for the insertion of effects. It is post EQ and pre internal effects. Using standard guitar cords, connect the effects input to the send; the effects output to the return. The level is 5v for full power out. The headphones jack is stereo and after internal effects AND cuts off the speakers in the GK, which is good actually. The speakers still work but are original and only 6.5 inches in diameter. Once I get this into the effects loop of the POD, I will see how it sounds into the DTs as well. I appreciate the help.

Thanks pfsmith0. That is great news actually!
-
Thanks for the feedback NucleusX. Stereo would be nice. The GK also has a head phones out but requires a 600 ohm or greater load. I don't think the POD's effects return would provide that impedance.

I have an old 80's GK 250ML SS amp. I wanted to try using the Effects Loop Send of the HD500X into the GK's guitar input and split the stereo output jack of the GK back into the Effects Loop Return of the HD500X. The GK's guitar input can not exceed 2.0 volts RMS. Anyone know the effects loop send voltage of the HD500X in both line and stomp mode? Anyone know what the effects loop return voltage range of the HD500X? (I have to call GK to find out if the stereo out is line voltage.) Thanks

Sa weeeet tone Darren. Nice job on the video! I'll have give that patch a whirl.

I'm missing how my reply was inaccurate. Oh, I get it. You wanted to make sure I was correct. I misunderstood.

I hope I don't sound confrontational, because it is not my intent whatsoever. I'm all in favor of Tesla's vision of free electricity for the world. Maybe you're right about the monopoly, but when I loose electricity due to a storm or natural disaster, I am very grateful that a group of trained professionals is working 24/7 to restore my electricity for 12 cents a kWh. I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm guessing two months without electrical power, most folks would gladly pay double that amount to restore their twentieth century life style. -

Thieves? I don't work for the power company or own stock in any, but I can tell you I would not want to live without electricity and at my age, I'm not interested in building any of the electric generating ideas I have read about in my OLD copies of Mother Earth News. Cable TV companies are a different story. -
Does anyone here remember the movie "The Groove Tube" and the ad in the movie for "Uranus Corporation"?

Just what I was thinking.
