  1. Starting from a blank patch, make sure input 1 is set to guitar/Variax and Input 2 is not set to mic. Ensure the little pot switch next to the mic input is turned up. Try a Vocoder mix of around 70-80%.
  2. No guitars were used in the making of the sound clip.
  3. I'm not sure if the 300-700 Variax models work this way, but... If I am using just the VDI cable with my JTV with the patch in post #5, Input 1 set to Guitar+Aux, that would prevent me from getting a signal to Path A.
  4. Sorry, like pianoguyy said, it is called Vocoder.
  5. Voice Box under Filters. Plug your mic into the mic input, but do not set input 1 or input 2 to mic. It assumes you are using the mic.
  6. Appreciate the feedback Joel. I can't find any documentation on this. The Advanced Guide just says it was inspired by the DigiTech Whammy, which supports polyphony on the DT and V models.
  7. I get a gnarly pulsation regardless of which guitar I use (including my new "used" 89F w/ either mags or models) when I play more than one note at a time. There is a warble that can be fixed with proper intonation (A=440) of the guitar (in my experience), but I can't get the pulse to disappear. The speed of the pulse changes depending on the chords I play. I start with a blank patch and only add the pitch glide in the first block and set it to -1.0 (or +1.0 for that matter). Another member uploaded their patch that worked for them, but no love on my POD. I would love to find out I was doing something wrong, but I just can't seem to figure it out. So I thought I would do a test: I have set the pitchglide to -1.0 (1 semitone down) for this test. To eliminate the guitars being the problem, I used a MIDI controller into Logic Pro X into my interface into my 500X guitar in, then into my DT25 via L6 Link. The first 25 seconds the effect is off. After that it is turned on. The pusle varies in speed and intensity depending on the chords used. The last chord includes a 9th, which seems to be the worst offender. Here is the link to the file on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/cipherhost-1/hd500x-pitchglide-test Does anyone else hear this in their 500X? Where you able to fix the pulsing problem? I guess I will open a ticket, but I would like to hear if others have the same problem. Thanks
  8. I wish I knew how to get it to work for me too. :( I get a gnarly pulsation. I think I will devise an experiment that eliminates the guitar from the equation to test my POD's pitchglide. Results to follow. Sorry to the OP for hijacking your thread. Started a new thread: Pulse with multiple notes using my 500X pitchglide
  9. I was gonna ask if that was the case. (If they pay a fee to be "Authorized")
  10. I did try to help you in a previous post. I was just saying at some point you have to trust your ears.
  11. Non-Sarcastic Response: I suppose you're both right in that we will all use our gear in our own way. And rightly so! Mildly Sarcastic Response: I don't think I would notice if someone changed the treble setting in my Atomic Punk patch from 54 to 55 when I wasn't looking. Moderately Sarcastic Response: How do you adjust the volume and treble pots on your guitar?
  12. I noticed that too, but wouldn't that be grounding a ground to ground? Plus he said he has tried a number of different patch cables. I don't know, maybe you have hit it on the head.
  13. Very bizarre indeed. I would think it would be just the opposite, i.e., noise in the amp from a patch cable plugged into the amp that is not plugged into a guitar at the other end. I can't imagine what circuitry in the POD (which is not even plugged in) that could place any stress or information into the 1/4 inch jack, but the Mesa manual does make mention of "Noise can be in the form of crackling, sputtering, white noise/hiss and/or hum" with "mildly shorted tubes". I'm grabbing at straws but, have you tried going through the tube diagnostic procedures in the Mesa's manual? Couldn't hurt to see if everything is up to snuff in the Mesa.
  14. Sorry if I missed it, but did you say you replaced, or had the piezo replaced already?
  15. So, in that video, if you unplug the 1/4 inch cable from the POD, with the other end still plugged into the Mesa, the noise goes away?
  16. 1) There should be a small tick mark that shows the last saved position of that dial when you make changes. You can get pretty close to the old setting using the POD's dials.
  17. Glad to hear it is a steady platform for your amp. If you want to past some pictures, (we would like to see them) just click on "More Reply Options" down near the right, bottom corner of the reply box you type in. It gives you the option to post pictures.
  18. If you play in a band or not, I understand wanting to be able to do what you are asking about. The pitch shift in the POD is not polyphonic. You will be disappointed trying to use it to take your guitar a half step down, etc. You can not do drop D, open G, DADGAD, etc. with the pitch shift either. Why is it so "important that it's possible to get it done without having the Variax."? It is either that or a Fishman Triple Play or a Roland GR-55, etc.
  19. I prefer the Stock Pod Mesa Cab. I also prefer red, but wouldn't the world suck without blue and green and ...?
  20. Hi psarkissian, Can I obtain documentation for the Line6 gear I own that authorized service centers have access to? Thanks
  21. You would think there would be a way to jam Variax data into packets for transport via 802.11.
  22. Very nice looking cabinet. I had to do a double take when I first saw it because I'm so used to the controls on my DT50HD being on the bottom.
  23. Does this mean DTs were manufactured and sold with a variety of hard, soft, and medium EL84EH tubes?
