HD500X = No From reading the Helix forum - Helix = Yes

Expressive in a Hendrixy kind of way!

What I mean is... If you want to switch to another topology in the middle of a song, you can just switch between amps that have already been set to amps you want. I should have been a little more specific.

It is still there. The link in the Dean's post is doubled. Still says 7/14. http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-LIN-HELIXFB

Hi Martin, First, thank you for the posts and your DT25 Power Amp Parameters.pdf. I started experimenting today. I have been reading some posts in the POD HD forum (http://line6.com/support/topic/14409-volume-while-creating-a-patch/) where a user (rodmoyes) was discussing variations in total volume output between patches at live performance volumes vs lower volumes while creating the patches. My question is this: Do you believe your method, which sets the mixer at the end of the signal chain, would prevent the wide swings in total volume output when switching patches at performance volumes that rodmoyes is experiencing? Thanks

Boost On/Off, PIV low/high and Tight/Smooth are not configurable in HD Edit. This could be one reason you might use this method without having to use MIDI.

So long as they keep the klon centaur, we're good! :o

They have redacted a few posts. I think the features in the Helix represent Line6 listening to user requests. I think they are monitoring reactions and scrambling to fit as much in as they can before the actual release. This may be why we are not seeing more videos just yet.

Yeah. I think they just wanted to get into the record books. Here are a couple more.

Helix Large Screen - Dual Mode Please!! (Ideascale votes please)
CipherHost replied to eenymason's topic in Helix
Done. Ian would have provided the link but the URL box is quite small so here it is: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Big-Screen-Dual-Mode/740269-23508 Cheers -

Yes, sorry about that. I meant to say Sean. I would like to hear Paul as well. I will edit my post so as not to confuse anyone. Cheers -
I believe it used to be in DI's FAQ, but is no longer there. I can't imagine the dimensions changing at this point. There must be a reason it is no longer there so what I got from TGP may be meaningless. From TGP quoting DI: (Dimensions of the floor unit: 22.05 x 11.85 x 3.6 inches; 14.6 lbs.) Zap said "BUT it's not done yet... and you can disable it, it's stereo (60sec) or mono (120sec) and you can place it anywhere you want in your signal path."

Great idea to pull this up for comparison. The Helix sounds more complex and full to me in this comparison. But, like the examples you gave in your post, we don't know all the details. The videos I have seen him in before has the signal going directly into Protools. This is interesting because the old video's tone reminds me of what I associate with the JTV. A flat, modeled sound. Yet, in the new video, it looks like the same guitar, but the modeled sound is not pronounced like the old video. Hmmm.

Hopefully we will hear something from Line6 soon.

You sir, are the man! This tread is going to EXPLODE with opinion! Thanks! I appreciate the effort by jandrio on creating this comparison. Considering he was working with little more than what he could hear from the original video, I think he did a great job. One must concede there are multiple variables in this comparison which makes things more difficult to judge.

I had a chance today to try the L and R unbalanced outs into each Alto TS112a. Plenty of volume this way. I tweaked the GEQ to cut highs above 9k, lows below 100hz, and played with the gain settings of the other ranges with Qs. So far I have been able to produce very nice clean tones with time based effects. I need to work on patches for classic rock crunch and distorted tones for them to sound closer to the DT25/DT50 amp tones. I guess I am really in the wrong forum now that I am talking about the HD into FRFR speakers. -

Thank you for the post. I agree "100%". (Oh no, it's rubbing off on me!) We will all hear the comparisons eventually. I really like my Line6 equipment and Line6 as a company. I would love to see them grab the bull by the horns and be the first to knock the socks off of our ears in terms of tone. I believe they have already impressed many with the UI and routing aspects so far. With 2.45 times the processing power and their code writing skills to squeeze the most out of the available DSP, I would be surprised if we were not truly impressed with the realism. I just wanted to hear more on June 11th by the folks who know the Helix better than anyone else. Sorry about your hearing. My hearing is not what it used to be either. It is not fun getting older. I find myself having to ask others to repeat themselves more than I ever did before. Some may not agree with me, but I think Paul Hindmarsh's Sean Halley's tone using the U-vibe in the demo video sounded great. I just want to hear more. P.S. - Doesn't everyone wear socks on their ears when it's cold out? -

I can only infer the intent of these posts, but I will presume they were not meant to be condescending. I do not want to see this thread take the low road. I agree that "percent improvement" would be difficult to impossible to quantify across the board. To each their own. That is why I requested A/B comparisons and not percentages. I don't know the percentage of professional, gigging musicians versus the at home hobbyist. The bottom line is we all hand over our money, whether it be for our tools or our toys, regardless of how that money was earned. -

You may be right. I did try Master volume cranked with the balanced and the Altos at 3 o'clock. I will try the unbalanced outs and fiddle with the POD Master and Alto volumes this week. Thanks -
Done!
