  1. Maybe, but I have found certain personality traits come with the territory when one is at his level in business. Probably. I'm sure it is why he is where he is. I just listened to your "Another Brick In The Wall II Solo". Excellent nico! Thanks!
  2. Do you know Cliff's username on the Fractal site? I just want to read his actual posts.
  3. Oh, cool. Thanks again. I will call in the morning.
  4. Helix is a genus of snails. Considering how long they have worked on this project, maybe that's it.
  5. How can Workbench custom tune individual strings if there are not 6 separate string channels? Just asking, I don't really know.

Vex. What kind of sale is that? When I tried using the code I got this message: "The qualifying item(s) in your cart do not meet the minimum threshold of $99.00 for the promotion code you entered. Your promotion code has been added, but will not apply to your cart until you meet the specified minimum threshold above." I did a chat: Me: I get "The qualifying item(s) in your cart do not meet the minimum threshold of $99.00 for the promotion code you entered. Your promotion code has been added, but will not apply to your cart until you meet the specified minimum threshold above." when trying to preorder the Line6 Helix selling for 1,499.99. Elijah, Ext. 2142: Interesting. The Helix should be eligible. If the site is giving you issues, Try calling into our sales department so an agent can place the order and add the coupon manually. Me: Does wwbw ship free and not charge tax like many other sites? Elijah, Ext. 2142: We do offer free shipping, and Tax may or may not be applicable depending on which state your in. Me: North Carolina Elijah, Ext. 2142: I don't believe we tax there. Me: Do you have the number to call the sales department? And their hours of operation? Or should I just check the website? Elijah, Ext. 2142: Our number is 800 348 5003 . Me: Thank you Elijah. I will call tomorrow morning. Have a great evening. $300 off the $1,500 price is sweeeeeet. Thanks fo rthe heads up on this stevekc. You're the man! P.S. - The code is SUMMER20W Upon closer inspection of the ad, it says to use the code and call 800-852-1851.
  7. The HX could be a real game changer depending on how it sounds. Very cool piece of equipment.
  8. Can your DAW not correct for any latency (post recording) if you listen to your track in your headphones while singing?
  9. DI said: By default, there are two footswitch modes—Preset and Stomp. You toggle them with the MODE switch. In Preset mode, you get eight presets, in Stomp mode, you get eight stomps. You can also customize how the switches appear. In Preset mode, you can choose to view four stomps on the top row (like HD500X) or the bottom row, and in Stomp mode, you can swap out Bank Up/Down for two more stomp switches. You can also repurpose Bank Up/Down as Preset Up/Down.
  10. Thank you for the vote. To maintain all the goodness of L6 Link, I could set the HD under the HX and never really touch it. You could program the HX to switch patches via MIDI on the HD and have L6 Link do the work to control the DT(s). Ok, so after I posted this I realized I would be getting audio from the HD. Kind of a problem. I need just control data over L6 Link. Also, the L6 Link disables the front input of the DT... (but not the effects return). Hmm... This could still work. Just can't use any audio input on the HD for pure HX tone.
  11. That's what we all wanted to hear. No pun intended.
  12. It looks like Stevic is making guitars with Variax electronics. Go from Dream Rig to Extreme Rig. https://www.facebook.com/shurikenguitars?pnref=story
  13. That's not my impression if I understand harwood_rocks demo. He did not create a patch and feed it into an FRFR system. He only changed the ENGL preamp to the ANGL preamp. All the rest of his gear is required. No?
  14. That's a serious kit budget! Then of course you will need a backup kit.

    Variax HX

Please tell me Line6 is going to transform the Variax Standard into a Variax Pro the way they did the HD500X into the Helix. I'm not looking for any hate from Variax, JTV or Variax Standard lovers, but they all sound unrealistic to me. It seems more DSP and better build quality would be welcomed, even at double the price. USA versions for the same electronics seem overly priced but I have not played one. I did like the feel of the JTV59 I tried. I've read many complaints of folks getting a decent JTV69 concerning the fret work. I have not played a JTV89 either. Only one JTV69 around here and that one was not even set up properly. Not a lot of love for Line6 guitars at my local GC. No 59s, 89s or Standards. Posted Variax HX idea on ideascale: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Variax-HX-Variax-Pro/727249-23508?submitted=1
  16. Do you know if it is this easy on a Mac?
  17. Can we get a little WARNING NOTICE before posting pictures like this? This thread really has gone to the Netherworld.
  18. Sounds the same to me. It is cool you were able to isolate just the ANGL preamp. Sounds like Line6 did a good job of replicating the preamp of the ENGL. For all the students taking a science class out there, the ANGL preamp was the independent variable in this experiment.
  19. After reading all the posts about Helix's loss of L6 Link in its current incarnation, if I want to continue using my DTs with all the configuration options available with my 500X and multiple DTs, Helix is not a simple option to replace the 500X. I'm hoping the MIDI templates that might be set up in Helix that Digital Igloo mentioned will prove me wrong. While the L6 Link can still be used between DTs with only one MIDI connection to the first DT, audio is transferred to the second DT which makes stereo a bit of a problem. A second MIDI connection will be needed to the second DT, but both DTs will be listening to channel 1. Maybe someone here already has all this figured out. This does not mean I wouldn't love to play through the Helix into an FRFR setup. :D
  20. This would be a major benefit/convenience for a lot of us who love our DTs. But it seems to me it would be difficult to obtain the same options available with the HD500X / multiple DT scenario. I hooked up an L6 Link between my two DT25s. When I plug into the front of the first DT (DT1), the audio reaches both DTs. (not so if I plug into effects return loop of DT1) When I switch channels on DT1, both DTs change channels. When I change topologies on DT1, DT2 remains unchanged. If I run MIDI to DT1, I can change topologies by sending MIDI commands on channel 1 to that DT. My question: Will the second DT (DT2) respond over the L6 Link by sending MIDI channel 2 commands or would I need to attach a MIDI cable from DT1 to DT2?
  21. I think you either keep or gift the model packs. It's all or nothing. Pretty sure you can not use the model packs on one POD you keep and gift 1 of your 4 units to someone else you sell your other POD to. Unless you bought two packs.
  22. I called GC yesterday to see what kind of deal I could work out or if there was a code or coupon I could use to pre-order the Helix. What I was told is she did not know beforehand of every deal coming down the pike, but that August is usually a month that GC has discount deals on equipment over $XXX so if I was willing to forgo being one of the first people to get one I could wait. She also was going to check on the total of pre-orders to see what that number was but could not until after the weekend. I believe she said GC was only getting 40 units for all GCs across the country. Only a select set of stores would actually get them in store at first (NY, Atlanta, and a California location). Others would be shipped from their warehouse when ordered. That's the latest I have found out.
  23. Ok, so my girlfriend has us watching Glee reruns on Netflix and what do I see on stage in season 2, episode 22 New York Nationals? A pair of DT50HD and 4x12 Cabs. Truth be told, those kids have some pretty awesome vocals.
