I tried it at 8 KHz this afternoon which worked out well. Thanks cclement! I hooked up the DT50 via L6 Link today with the 112s connected to the XLR outs of the POD. What I did not know is that after the "boot" process of the DT50, I can reset the output mode to Studio/Direct. I loose GEQ but will try using an EQ in the patch.

I just picked up 2 Alto TS 112As from GC last night. I put them on stands, L/R XLR to each from 500X. 500X master volume initially set at 12 o'clock, but I did crank it all the way at times. Boost off and volume set to 12 o'clock on TS 112As, but I did turn on Contour at times. Tried some Paul Hindmarsh patches designed for DT25 (great sounding patches through my DT25 by the way, best I've found for my taste even though I have not gone through them all yet). I changed the PREs to FULL amps. I was disappointed with the clarity and volume of the 112s. Buzzy, nasty high end. Tried empty patch and found the same results. Tried Global EQ to cut 8K and above. I don't think I understand what I am doing with EQs. I am in Direct/Studio mode though. (I did remove the L6 link as I believe that auto changes out of Studio/Direct mode) I did adjust the volumes on the 112s and found there was a big jump in volume in the last part of the volume pot. I was too apprehensive to play with the 112 volume pots all the way up. They say it is rated at 800 watts but 400 for continuous play. That is why I started at 12 o'clock, which looks like the max for Line input. I did try them at 9 o'clock but not a big difference from 12 o'clock. So then I tried adding a Brit P-75 (full amp) to a black patch. Not impressed with this either. The Divided 9/15 sounded better. I admittedly suck at creating patches. My Taylor acoustic with a blank patch sounded very nice and clear but not very loud. All the reviews I have read or watched all touted how loud these speakers were so I must be missing the boat. I'll have to try it with the Vintage Pre. So now I will search Custom Tone for FRFR patches. I will try them soon to see how other folks designed them. I will try the 112s on the floor rather than on stands. I don't think I really know what I'm doing here! First time with active PA speakers. Any suggestions or patches you think will help would be appreciated. I only list the following as I know it makes a big difference in patch use. The guitars I have to work with are a 1988 Clapton Strat with Gold Lace PUs, a 1984 Les Paul Studio Standard with Tim Shaw PUs, a Penco Les Paul copy I bought around 1980 that I put EMG 81/85 PUs into and a PRS S2 Mira among others. (No Tele yet but I am working on that.) I would really like to create/have patches I can use in different situations, i.e., guitar-POD-DT or guitar-POD-PA, etc. Thanks!

I used FRFR and got results. I used DT25 and got results. FRFR DT25, no results. FRFR + DT25, no results. FRFR AND DT25, no results. "FRFR" "DT25", no results. "FRFR" AND "DT25", no results.

I tried doing a search in CT with different operands and operators without success. Maybe I was using the wrong syntax.

Pull down boxes is what I was thinking, like in Access or Excel. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but my understanding is the HD500Lister program creates a text file of the "ingredients" of a patch. Since you can't comment on your patch until after you upload it, some of the fields could be auto populated for the user, like the amp and any other patch based info. So if you wanted examples of patches that used U-Vibe or Obi-Wah, you could easily find them.
-
The idea was not so much about posting, but searching. If someone wanted to search for a patch that included all of the following with one query. Studio/Direct output mode EMG 81 pickups Brit J-800 DT25 Just one example.
-
Although it could get massive, a good database query interface would make it more manageable and user friendly. It could include specific, searchable categories for particular guitars, pickups, amps, L6 usernames, artists, bands, output modes, etc. Good idea Rocco!

Do you mean other member's tones?

Hey T, Question... If the POD automatically changes to Combo Power Amp mode using L6Link and the output modes are global, does this change my balanced and unbalanced outputs too? Even if my original global output was set to Studio/Direct? Thanks

It may be they have a policy that prevents them from deleting accounts, not that they can not delete accounts.

Several users on the forum say they use the pre amps with their DT amps as the DTs provide a true tube power amp section. Others have said they like using the full amps with their DTs for some applications. I think most would agree to let your ears be your guide. Cheers

I received a different message: Hello, To request a refund, you will need to get in contact with our store support team. Please email them at: storesupport@line6.com Thanks, Pete Line 6 Support I sent an email to storesupport on 5/22 and 5/28 and have not received a response. I asked support on 5/27 "Can anyone tell me what error codes 8211 and 8220 mean?". No response so far. No return of my purchase price. Tomorrow will be 30 days. Hmmm.

Is it correct that a response from Line6 will be seen when I view the original support ticket? Danke

From: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1995_articles/apr95/digitaldelays.html PHASING Early phasing on records was done with two tape machines playing almost in sync. Nowadays, we tend to refer to this effect as tape flanging, but in the days when it was actually used, everyone knew it as phasing. It's a simple matter to convert the earlier vibrato effect to phasing by setting the mix control to exactly half way; the best effects are obtained with delay times of between 1 and 10mS. With such a short delay time, the individual harmonics that make up your sound are moved in and out of phase with each other so that some cancel while others add. This has the effect of filtering the sound in a very dynamic and complex way -- you'll recognise the effect as being similar to that produced by guitar phaser pedals. Try changing the rate control from a slow sweep to a fast modulation and you'll see that the range of effects is quite wide. A very slow modulation rate generates a nice, evolving sweep which can sound great on pad keyboard sounds, while faster rates can sound similar to a rotary speaker cabinet. You can also 'tune' which harmonics are affected by changing the basic delay time; the shorter the delay time, the higher the frequencies that are affected, and vice versa. A delay time of between 1 and 3mS gives a thin, whining phase sound, whereas longer times sound fatter or smoother.

I got the Error: 8211. I placed a support ticket on Friday morning (5/22), the same day I deauthorized. I bought it on 4/30. With the weekend and Monday being a holiday, I suppose Wednesday will be 3 days. I too called on Friday and was told to email storesupport. I did and have not heard from them yet either. All my devices in license manager no longer have an X to deauthorize. I rebooted my POD and it no longer exists in the POD or license manager. (It rebooted my iMac when I plugged the POD in. You would think it wanted to see the POD via USB during the process.) I do have a device listed (X3Live) that I used as a trade when I bought my 500X. The status says "pending?". When I click on that, it wants me to plug in my X3Live. I thought that was the reason for the error. Apparently, from these posts, that might not be the case. At first I just wanted the discount. By Saturday I decided to purchase only the vintage pack. Today, I think I will be happy with the original amps. Now it is just a matter of ensuring the charge is removed from my card. Peace!
-
One hiccup. I used to own a X3Live which I used as a trade in for my 500X. I did not know I had to deauthorize it so it is sitting with a status of pending and I am getting an error: 8211. It does not offer an "x" to deauthorized though. All my other listed products are deauthorized. I have 3 Dt amps that are not listed. Do I have to MIDI them up too? I have opened a support ticket and will call when the Cali office opens today. Thanks
-
I'm leaving for vacation in an hour and won't have access to my POD to deauthorize. I'm deauthorizing now and I can purchase the discounted pack this weekend and install it when I get back. Do you think that will work?

If I am within my 30 day window after purchasing the HD Fully Loaded Bundle, do I have to go through the return process or will Line6 simply take $29.70 off my bill?
-
It sounds like you got your money's worth from electronics school. Thanks

Thank you gentlemen. It seems, from a quick look at that pdf, is the watts of handling power is a sum of each speaker either in series or parallel. Hmmm, math, its been a while.

If a speaker cabinet has (4) 30 watt speakers, can you use a 50 or 100 watt amp to push them or are you restricted to a 30 watt amp?
