Just set path two input to either Multi or Guitar. It will get there.

That is a hilarious hack. Very Adam Jones-ish.

I've been trying to sketch out some ideas for the piezo on my LP. I'm going to download these patches and IR's and see if I can set them up to use an active input with a piezo.

Not to thread jack, but I agree that there are some fx on the hd which I find better than that which is on the Helix. I've been slowly boning up on the whole MIDI thing to use the HD as a slaved unit off of the Helix. I've had a couple of successes, and I suggest you give it a try. That said, a couple of the updates in the 1.06 FW update sound promising. We shall see.

Here's a link to the Matchless settings: http://matchlessamplifiers.com/uploads/manuals/Matchless-DC-30-Settings.pdf

Very happy about the switch swapping. I'm dealing with trying to do that manually right now, but will put it off until next week. Thanks. Holy smokes! And the factory presets are leveled?? Thanks again!

Interesting. I will give that a go then.

I'm trying to assign a flange rate to an expression pedal. Parameter: Rate Controller: Exp Pedal 3 (new Mission Engineering) Min Value 2.0 Max Value 4.0 I push the Learn Controller knob, move the pedal, and it automatically resets to Min 0 Max 10. When I go back to the home screen the rate shows in brackets, but is still 0.0 to 10.0. Anybody else having this problem?

Thank you, Phil. That did it.

I'll put my guess on the Bogner, though I'd rather see a Diezel. I was on the phone with Randy Smith at Mesa about a month ago and he is pretty much in the dark on anything L6.

I'm using the HD500 slaved through the Helix in order to maintain some DSP integrity. I've got the signal flow through, but when I switch back to the preset it sets the HD to Dual Tones 1C. I have to manually turn the HD to the sixth bank, preset 4C My settings are as follows: Helix: 01C Global: MIDI Base Channel 1 MIDI Thru: On MIDI Over USB: On (but I don't think it makes a difference) MIDI PC S/R: On Tempo Select: Per Preset Preset BPM: xxx (doesn't matter) Command Center: Instant 1: Command: Bank/Prog MIDI Channel: 1 Bank CC00: 5 (for my sixth User bank, or second column, third down User bank on the HD) Bank CC32: 14 (for preset 4C on the HD) Program: Off (no idea what this setting is for) Footswitch 11 (where I have the toggle) Command: CC Toggle MIDI Channel: 1 CC Channel: 52 (per the HD's MIDI Control reference for the HD's FS2) Dim Value: 0 Lit Value: 127 I'm sure I'm missing something obvious to the MIDI Gods out there, but so far have not been able to figure it out. Does somebody have an idea what I'm missing here? Thanks!

I was at Mission Engineering's HQ yesterday picking up one of my expression pedals. They have their FRFR display set up with Kemper and Fractal, but...and I actually laughed out loud when they told me this...they haven't received their Helix yet. I absolutely *need* a PC-based editor. I've been futzing around on the MIDI controlling external pedalboard thing for two days now. My back is frikkin' tweaked as hell right now. The POD HD Editor allowed MIDI commands from the PC to be migrated in to the HD. I expect that the Helix Editor would also have capacity for managing different sends and receives as well.
-
I get it and very much agree. However I have hundreds of hours invested in dialing in the tones. We all know the HD series doesn't sound as good as the higher end stuff. But after four years of HD futzing, I came real close. I've got a couple of hundred presets that I've created and/or modded; each with a sound I'm pretty satisfied with. I'd like to get those over without having both units stacked together while I have the 500's editor up and running.

I've barely scratched the surface on this thing. I have yet to go through any of the tutorials and, yes, to paraphrase DI's earlier comment, all factory presets are pretty far to the right on the Suck Curve. I've reviewed this forum, as well as the HD500 forum. I'm trying to figure out how to export all of my HD500 custom patches in such a fashion that I can manually enter the same values on the Helix. I'm not looking for a serial transfer, but for a simple, if not easy, way to get my HD settings (parameters, values, etc.) off of the old machine and import it in to the new one. Anybody have any insight as to if this is even possible? DI? L6T? Phil? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Just unboxed. Let the learning curve commence.

Here is a bit of irony: My Banana's at Large guy called me yesterday to tell me he had a unit for me. I was getting ready to drive down to pick it up when we received a flood advisory at the county line. Called Banana's and said I would be down tomorrow (today). Got to the office, checked my email, and had received a tracking number from UPS for shipment out of MF's KC warehouse. Card charged, everything. I just called the local retailer and apologized up and down. On a brighter note, I did receive my shipment notice and will have this damn thing underfoot within the week.
-
I just got an email from MusiciansFu**ers.com regarding the backorder. The date didn't change, but I suspect that the date is now about to. It's been close to two months since I ordered this thing. In other news, the second Banana gets their shipment (estimated 12/30 tracking date), MF is history. They both know it; first one in gets my dime.

You know...I saw that review and peeked at his webpage. Mind you I didn't know he was the guy behind the FB Page. I remember thinking, "what a d*ck". His packs are amazingly overpriced and the only person I've seen giving his packs a good review is him. That said, I just went to the page, and your comment is still up.

I posted my link before they posted their "no affiliation" comment, so all good.

Line 6 Helix does have a Facebook page. Here: https://www.facebook.com/Line-6-Helix-507635642723878/?fref=nf. Last updated June 11th. Regarding the history of commerce, the actual percentage of online time is more like .0006%. However during the last 125 years there has been communication from manufacturers. Prior to that, the vendor was more than likely the manufacturer, so there was communication there as well. Line 6 screwed the pooch on this. They haven't created a buzz, they have created a PR nightmare. The only reason they are not communicating is because they fear they will open up a floodgate of criticism and frustration from the very people with whom they conduct commerce. The retailers are stuck in the middle so they get to lie and pretend to know what is going on. The simple fact is that Line 6 thought a boutique item would demand a boutique supply. People have been strapped to Fractal and Kemper for years now and they want an alternative. Line 6 beat the Rolands of the world to the punch and have had some serious interruptions in their supply chain. Since they farm out the actual manufacturing of the units, the manufacturers have them over a barrel. They switched manufacturers and whoever they switched to was not set up to just manufacture Helixes. They now have to get in line for their production runs and compete against other production runs. A Line 6 rep told me that they "can't make these fast enough". Sure they could, but it would seriously affect the price point as they would have to buy their way to the front of the line. Hopefully they have more than one manufacturer or production shop working on this. Damn....I remember when Yamaha made their own s**t and took pride in that fact.

Just got a notice from the bumble-f^^^s at MF that my order placed on November 3rd will not be available until 1/21/16. Another retailer said they will have some in on the 23rd. If they hold true, MF just lost a customer worth about 1500/year.
-
Yeah, yeah....I knew the risks in openly stating a mia culpa. I could have just deleted the post, but I'm one of those honest guys. Sort of a character flaw, really.
-
MAJOR RETRACTION I just did a workaround outside of MF. Total bulllollipop on their part. Yes, they can't make them fast enough, no there hasn't been a QC or supply interruption. MF is going to be called on the carpet for this. Not sure if it is going to help on my delivery, but I do know that people at MF are going to be called to task.
-
I just found out what is going on. There was a QC problem, so they switched suppliers. They ran into a problem with said supplier. They don't know when they will be shipping. I spoke to somebody in management at MF and they chased down the procurement people. My ship date is optimistic. GC and AMS is either BS or they will be shipping buggy units. How f'd up is that? Why the f wouldn't Line 6 tell this to the vendors? Why the f wouldn't they tell it to us? This is absolute BS. I'm going back to Flamenco. Wake me when somebody pulls their head out long enough to authorize some information on this.

That's an interesting statement and it gave me a moment to pause. I can honestly say that the gear I get most excited about is that which I already have. Not that I'm not seriously anticipating the Helix. I go through different phases with my guitars. I've been on a Les Paul kick for the past six months or so and last night I've felt pangs for busting out the shredding team (Ibanez, Charvel, Jackson). When I bust out a guitar I've been neglecting it gives me such a rush. Different action, different sound, different attack, etc. Sure we all want FX control, but it all comes down to our fingers, our style, and our taming of individual instruments. My classicals are beckoning as well. It's the time of year to dust off Linus and Lucy, Nutcracker, etc. PS: This doesn't let you off the hook L6 Team. Give us a damn update!
