Jtv-69 Neck Issues - Fixed?
psarkissian replied to gene1714's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
diggerbarnz--- If you're getting slippage, it may be the way the frets were dressed. Taking it in to an Line 6 authorized service center to have the nut shifted or a new nut installed could solve that. A neck swap would be another solution. If it becomes a problem, take it in while it's still under warranty. I have an earlier 69, and the only time I get slippage is when my technique is sloppy. But then, I don't do too many of those blues string pulls either. Most of the people I hear from about this are those who do the bluesy "string pulls" or "chicken scratch" pulls on the earlier 69 necks. -
Jtv-69 Neck Issues - Fixed?
psarkissian replied to gene1714's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
"Have the neck issues been fixed (I would hope so by now)?"---- Yes! That issue has long since been resolved. It involved earlier units and had to do with the way the frets were dressed. Newer units don't have that issue. Though I do get the random one in for servicing that need a little extra TLC from me regarding fret dressing. Enjoy playing the 69's,... I do. -
JTV 69 With 12 gauge strings?
psarkissian replied to cleobis's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
When changing string gauges, make sure your local guitar tech (preferably a Line 6 authorized service center) to check and adjust the set-up (relief, action, intonation and such) afterwards. When changing gauges, the string tension also changes, and that will have an affect on the set-up. It's like that with any guitar. -
Installing an Earvana nut on a JTV69

Ah, those,.... heard about those, seen them around a bit. Thanks for the reminder, forgot about those. -
Installing an Earvana nut on a JTV69
psarkissian replied to ajktsb's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Just be sure that it lines up with the fret board edge correctly or it may throw off the scaling. Because if that happens, intonation will be pain in the derriere (if possible at all at that point). I see that all to often, so use caution on that one. -
Open a support ticket to get a return authorization process going, so you can get it to your local authorized service center. There is one of three or four things that it could be. Pretty straight forward, but it needs to be dealt with from the inside of the amp by an authorized service center in your area.

Might be considering a replacement 600 neck?
psarkissian replied to clay-man's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
If we do have one here, I'll be the one who'll check it and if needed, level and dress it. We'll see what there is here. Found one for someone a couple weeks ago. It wasn't in a handy spot to grab. Have to search and see if there is another. 600 neck have a laminated fretboard. I don't see anything on the Warmonth site in their neck section about having any with laminated fretboards. -

Don't know off-hand. Opening a ticket means that all the support people will see it and so the right person can chime in. Out here in the forum world, it's too random. A support ticket would put you with the right people for this. -

Open a Support Ticket in your account so the support are aware. Just random chance I was by. -
User errors or technique can be, but not necessarily are rare, but they occur. A blues player with a way of picking called "chicken scratch" is not always compatible with modeling in general,... to give one example. For some, the artifacts are a cool effect, for others it's not. Guitars and playing are an individual thing, part of the musical identity we create. Other times it can be set-up that's creating problems. Still others, it's a quirk of the Model itself and adjusting EQ is the solution. Bringing floor or rack effects adds complexity to it all. Lots of variables to deal with. Have a couple things here we're trying to reproduce as a result of queries. Might want to take it to your Line 6 authorized service center in the meantime. The soundfile is in the support ticket, so I'll be getting back to that and others in between JTV servicing.

[a little bit OT] Classical guitar and synthesizers for most of my life has been good therapy. And the operative word is "almost" every night. Was in college or recording with a choral group the other nights. And the drummer, one of the keyboard players and I have continued to be good buds all these years. ;)

I'm saying those afore mention glitches are possibilities to check into. It's a matter of running down the possibilities to find out which one yours might be. I've been in touch with my colleagues in the UK (which covers your region) and my colleagues here where I am. We've been listening to the MP3's and Soundclouds that were sent on this subject and trying to reproduce it here. Also, speaking of piezos,... if there is a Line 6 tech in your area, make sure the piezo connections to the circuit board are the correct order sequence. ''Psarkissian'' you are commenting about something that you really don't know"--- I didn't want to get into a one up's contest, but,... been playing and tech-ing guitars (and other instruments) since I was 14 (I'm almost 60), and hired as tech and crew for the rock band Iron Butterfly when I was 19. Been at it ever since. So I've been in this a long time,...been doing this a long time. We all have here.

Open a service ticket in your account. Check with the support people to see about getting it to an authorized service center have them check it out.
