Hi jbuhajla and FarleyUK Thanks for commenting on my post and you are absolutely right… Have been a most happy owner of Line6 gear since first POD v1 and though a numerus of gear. Today a happy owner of a Variax 500 (since 2014…) that is still going strong and a Helix LT owner since about a month back. Really love the gear and the few times I have had contact with the support, just have one thing to say – Top notch, best in industry. The decision to go from my POD HD Pro to Helix was very easy. And yes, I know that the negative parts are always dominant on the forum, it’s the character of getting help. But it’s also to read the answers and read between the lines. I have get a lot of ideas from those forums and helped me on the learning curve. The POD HD forum has been “hot†sometimes. I have not had much of the problems, if any. But the cool guys that answers add knowledge that I used, also the best support. I’m a bit sad that I did not wrap this thread up. I had a thread on TGP and some dialog there. My conclusion was actually that I reconsider to get G70. To summarize pros and cons. Cons – I think the weak point is the radio and how it handles the channels on 2.4G band and RF1, 2 and 3 (yes, I missed the 3’d one in my previous posts). I think as it need to be rescan manual and often the risk to get drop-outs are quite high. Some competitors listen on multiple channels and dynamically change channel when it gets crowded. The risk is that after you made a scan someone activates some other gear, e.g. IEM, and you can get smoked. 2.4G is crowded. We move our customers on WiFi from 2.4G to 5G-band because 2.4G is not possible to use in the cities and crowded office complex. My conclusion, even if I don’t have all the facts, is that there may have been problems and that the one that upgraded the software in the February release found it much better. The ones that also learned to rescan had even fewer problems. I got a feeling that some with problems hadn’t upgraded and/or learned to rescan. Pros – The G70-unit solves all the needs I have with multiple guitars with its own transmitters and possibility to even have a guitar connected with cable and all in one unite. Can get read of my Korg PB+ some other gear… I will not have problems at my home. I’m not a gigging musician, but do play with friends and some of those places are crowded. Summery – In almost all my playing career I have succeed to get gear that really works for me, very few exceptions. My decision to buy the G70 was crystal clear, until I started to read on the web. It took me some time to sort things out, but I’m confident today to go for the G70 knowing that rescanning will be a part of it, but so is also tuning my guitar So again, thanks for the reminder to wrap this thread up and end it in a, I hope, positive way. //Per

Warranty can be extended for two years if you are in US and have your gear registered... http://line6.com/support/topic/28338-register-helix-for-a-free-second-year-of-warranty/ //Per

Hi Got some time over so what's more relaxing than editing an Excel sheet  Mileskb - What's the best of the best is in the eyes of the beholder. When I look at your sheets I found errors that I had in mine, now corrected. Looking at the feedback it both serves there pupose, good job. I had the same idea as you, to redo the order the same as it is in Helix. There was not enough time, so it may be later (maybe when 2.3 comes, just hope there is not too much new gear, I probably do not have space :D ) Now I make a music breaks and go to the mountains fishing trout and grayling. Have fun... Chers //Per

Hi So I did it... - https://www.dropbox.com/s/m5qio0jmsbt3yg7/Line6%20Helix%20-%20Model%20summery%20-P1.0-02.pdf?dl=0, updated the cheat sheet. Hope I got it right, otherwise let me know. v.2.21 didn't have any added gear I guess, didn't fint any... right? mileskb - Good Idea to print it on a large paper. The text size is rather small. I will do the same. My old eyes struggle with it in A4 :-) Chers //Per

Hi Thanks for the hans up, didn't notis the 2.2 updated gear... will update it later. I use the print as beeng in a learning curve. This and the supplyed sheet from L6 Helix LT. I don'need to have the computer on and just need to get an idea on witch gear is behind the name (I know the originl gear, at least most of it...). On my old pod hd I knew all the L6 names, now all the names are change, and some more parameters to tweek so thats why the shortlist of those are cut in. Otherwise the Helixhelp.com is a good source. //Per

Good to see that it came to be used :) Thanks DunedinDragon. It was an interesting site. Have never seen or heard of it before. Will study it carefully. Maybe not replacing my little sheet, but nice source of information. Very structured. Thanks //Per

Hi Peter Sounded great, as usual I just switched to the Helix, a month ago, and really like it. It was also nice to see you on this side of the forum (I was a former Pod HD Pro-owner). Also, have so say that there is a lot of knowledge in these forums, always someone to ask and someone to lean against. But, there is only two that changed the game on how to dial a good tone - Hurganico and you. Make it simple, just as much as you need, start with default and tweek what's necessary... Used yours and Hurganico patches on my POD HD Pro and used the same dialing method with my own patches. So great. I will tweek a bit more and come back to your patches. Just wanted to step by and say hello as you published one more great video... Thanks /Per

Hi New user on Helix but an old one on Line6 gear. Upgraded a month ago from POD HD Pro to Helix (formerly also POD v1 and POD XT). I liked the POD HD Pro but this is another step and a new challenge… So far impressed and can’t see what can change that... From POD HD to Helix they changed the names of ea the amp and some new where added. For an oldie like me it takes a while to learn the new names. I found them in the manual, but a bit to lacy to open it (the unit is so easy to use so the manual is not used...), so I made a cheat sheet with all the amps and effect and quick info of all the buttons belonging to them. If someone else want it, just download it from my Dropbox here>>. My little contribute to this great forum that I learn so much from, thanks. Any comments or suggestions, just let me know. I might make an updater. //Per

Hi fukuri Sorry post my reply in your post... :-). Same answer but in the right place... Thanks for the reply. Yes, I read your post. And many others. That was what made me doubtful. Why does it work so badly for some but not for others? Use to be immune to negative posts, they are always there. Instead, try to read between the lines and learn. Have lived through the forum comments with my POD Pro HD, which some thought was very unusable, which I loved and could get to do everything I wanted ... There I can only say that it is patience and an interest to learn, even if there is a learning curve. This time it's a bit more serious, not so much you can change yourself more than knowing its the 2.4 band and is open and that its houses a lot of other equipment. Crazy to find the best channels. We did a channel search on WiFi / 2.4G at a customer, w found 510 other disturbing wireless bases in the neighborhood. Many pretty strong. Should be impossible to compete in that spectrum. We shift the customer to 5.0-band. It was in the middle of town. I myself have about 10 access points around me and live outside the town... Had expected that type of responses, that its sensitive to other equipment, or you have to trim something or that the location should be in a certain way ... The closest I think I came to for an answer is that someone wrote that modulation changed from RF1 to RF2, ie from a band made for this type of devices to a band made for "home WiFi", bigg difference ... But certainly, motivated by finding a band allowed worldwide. The difference between G30/50 and G70/75 looks like to be RF1 changed to RF2 and not configurable. My conclusion... To sum up, I'll park this purchase at this time. Learned something new to look for when looking for a wireless system. Again, thanks for your feedback fukari //Per

Hi I am planning of buying a Relay G70 – The spec fits my needs ea multiple inputs, build in tuner, multiple transmitters and so on. Just a good add on to my Helix LT. Can and my Variax 500 (line not digital), my LP and my Strat. I can get rid of my Korg Black Pitch (which is excellent) and some other stuff. But, when looking at some posts there is a long history of problems. • Dropouts • Significant difference to g50 in quality • Battery problem causing dropouts • RF1 vs RF2 (looks like a difference from the G50) • … and so on So, it’s natural that negative comments popping up. But is this a hit or should I back off. I know f 2.4G band, overlapping channels and how that can interfere with WIFI, crowded channels in cities, microwaves and other stuff. But how does this unit handle this and does it mean its unusable? Let me know before spending $200. Have been a happy owner of Line6 gear since POD 1.0, want to stay that way… Highlight me please. Thanks //Per

I hade the same issue on my POD Pro. I whanted to add my od/dist/fuzz pedals in front but after the wha (built in the POD Pro). Could not tame the noice. Ended with me buying a loop switcher, RMI mini gizmo, and added all my pedals via the input jack. Controll the Gizmo and the POD with my Behringer FCB1010 so i can sync the Gizmo-channel and the patch with the sound i whant. Even easy done without using an editor... The explenation I found in a thread was that when swiching off the loop the return whas not switched off, it was still open. Meaning that your pedal noice added to the signal chain even if the pedal has no signal on the input. Stone crazy... The noice when the loop was connected/activated was strange, but just moving the pedals and Gizmo to the front eliminated the noice. No, not a ground issue, all in the same rack, just moved the cables. Same rack, same power, same cables... Never found an explenation to the last issue. So there it is. Disadvantage - wha is after the pedals and it would have been good to swich the loop block on/off, easier. Solved this with some programing of the fcb1010, workes great now. My own conclution is that its a bad design with the open return and that the small amount of noice generated by the loop plus pedal is amplied in the signal chain causing this problem. Earlier in the chain -> more noice. Placing the looper later as delay/reverb the signal is higher and is not aplified in the same way. I might be corrected on this but its ok as I might even get an explenation to the problem... :-) If a question is why I use my own pedals - They sound much better, built and tweeked by me for my sound... :-) Might not help but a small input. /Per

Don't know if this helps but Peter Hanmer made a series of good videos on different toptics, you find them here - http://www.peterhanmer.co.za/line6.htm. Video 5 expalin plugging the pod in front of an amp. You finde some of Peters patches at the bottom of the page. Hope you get a lead there. Chears /Per

Hi Just a quick question - Is the POD HD Bean the same size and shape as the Pod XT? Asking because I burnd the USB on the XT a couple of years ago and by some reason the midi stoped working this summer. So now it will rest... So, I'm on my way to get my hands on a POD HD Bean. Thing is I have mounted the XT in a box by using the frame/front adapter from an Atomic Amp. I would like to exchange the units, if it fitts. Looks like it, but have never seen one in real life. I have the POD HD Pro and if this works I can use the same patches in between, I think/hope anyway... any way I get a more moden traveling amp Anyone who knows? //Per

Hi I have the NS2 and think it's pretty cool. Yes, it does coler the sound a little bit but for me it's a part of the sound... If I had answered this earlier i would have done as perapera showed. Should have worked… In my rigg today I have split my pedal board in two sections. One part is mounted in my 19" rack (dist and OD switched with a Gizmo midi box) and left on my pedal board is a tuner, boost pedal, a compressor and my NS2. The NS2 only have the boost in the send/return... and it works great. So my suggestion is that you try this --> gtr > ns2 in > ns2 send > pod in > "pre fx" > pod send > ns2 return > ns2 out > amp in > amp send > pod return > "post fx" > pod out > amp return I use the gate in the POD too, but there are situations where the NS2 is more effective and if it didn’t set itself in off mode when powered on I probably left it on forever… There is a few saying the unit is noisy and suck tone, I do not have those problems (play blues so the tone should have the blues:-). There are mods for it, ea - http://www.monteallums.com/pedal_mods.html#NS2 //Per
