Forgot to say - 2.54 has no new amps. It's only bugfixes //Per

Hi Well, new amps are not appended at the end, they are inserted on different places in the list. Don't know if this is of any help but I made a list in the order they appears on the unit and made an X before the new ones. Its from 2.30 and 2.50 upgrades. Hope I catched all... If this works for you I can list the effects to. In summery the list starts with WhoWatt and the new ones are inserted on different places. If you are interested I have them alla set up in a pdf, don't know if that is a good format for you, if so let me know and I send it to you. Hi Made an update of my Cheat Sheet, Line6 Helix Model Summary, if anyone are intereted. All up to date with 2.50 update and all amps, cabs, mics and effects are in order of appearance on the unite. Some corrections are also made, if someone down loaded the previus version. Unfortunately, there will be one more page as there are just too many amps and effects in the unit :-) Or, there is now room for more... I still want to keep the sheet readable, so have kept the font size the same. Download from my dropbox - https://www.dropbox.com/s/e2jsnnqwscr6iml/Line6 Helix-Model Summary%2C 2%2C50-P1.0-01.pdf?dl=0 Have fun //Per

Line 6 Helix - The Set Of All Settings (SOAS) Project
PerS replied to Noobian_Prince's topic in Helix
Think this is really interesting. Tried a few last time, but did not have time to deap dive. Actually, have had too little time to play overall. Thanks for a great job and for sharing. /Per -
Good to hear it was a simple solution. //Per

He he... well, my abuse of the English languish, I'm only Swedish you know :-). "Even smaller and larger" means there is a TS308 and a TS315. Irrelevant info, sorry. I get the feeling that they only describe the two units in different way. They are the same… and I will probably be corrected later :-). They both have XLR and TSR connection. They both have a contour switch that if I understand it correct the lo and hi fq’s to be raised +3db. And some more feratures. Do not see any switching between line and mic level except for both inputs have a volume/lever control. Or the XLR are mic level and TRS is line level (can get that impression in the TS312-description, but it’s not even mentioned in the Headrush). But this is the problem, are they only described differently, but are the same? Or are they tuned differently in the DSP? Like the Headrush is tuned to be optimized for a modeler. Not that sure… I will go for the TS310 due to weight/size if those two 12” unit are the same, 11 kg vs 16 kg. As I said in a different thread, I’m not a pro so I’ll not spend the extra money on a Yamaha. Except, if I find one used I probably go for it. Still the 10” version is of my interest. Looking forward to get this clarified, even if I’m wrong above :-) //Per

Hi I have also had some struggle with USB ports over time. It has been three main reasons. Supplied USB-cable with the Helix was not very good. Hade to change it for a new one. Fix the problem at that time. Started to get edit dropouts a few month ago. This was caused by a patch Microsoft in one of the updates. It lasted for about 2-3 weeks and was fixed in one later update. If you are on line and run win10 this should not be a problem. I think it was patched end April. Mad it also impossible to run update Helix software. I happened to plug my new keyboard and mouse in the USB-port next to where my Helix was connected (a mistake, that was not where it was supposed to be…). On my motherboard I have 4 different USB-hubs + extra USB-card with additional ports. I have connected the Helix in on hub (only one of four ports used), my sound card on another (only one of four ports used) and all other USB devices split on the other two hubs (one is not used). I have also checked that the two ports that I use do not use the same IRQ's as something else important (like network card or graphics, also turned off not used functions in BIOS that that was not used, like eg built in soundcard) that I used for Helix and soundcard (Focusrite18i6). So, I plugged the keyboard/mouse in the wrong USB-port and that screwed up the Edit-communication with the Helix. Just moved it to the right port (where the old keyboard/mouse where connected and the new was supposed to be plugged in to) all fixed. You will have to check the documentation of the motherboard to see how the different ports are mapped/grouped to be able to avoid “collisions”. You need to spend some time to optimize how the ports are used and grouped. If you have a laptop, this will be much more complicated… fewer options to tweak there. Do not know Mac, so someone else has to fill in there. Another problem that I haven’t hade, but have been noted from time to time – Do not use an external USB-hub. You will run into the problems I described above. Its also the reason I only use one device per “hub” on my PC motherboard, no difference. I run into this problem already with my POD Pro HD like 8 years ago… The effect is not only the Edit sw, it’s even worse when trying to run an update… Don’t know it it’s any help, but at least something to exclude from the main cause of your problem. Hope this was clear on my broken English :-), not my native language I'm afraid... //Per

Hi Alto has a new series of "the same" speaker - TS 310 and TS312 (even smaler and larger) Bit more power, same price. Headrush has an "OEM" of them named FRFR112, claimed to be tuned for modelers. The specs lookes the same though, have not got it confirmed if they are the same or different voiced. Can't comment on DunedinDragon reply, but suspect it's the same that goes for the new models. //Per

Hi I was in New Orleans last week and happened to visit GC. In the entrance they had stacked up some boxes containing Alto TS312. Looks like a new model and checked the Alto site, not word… interesting to keep a new launched product as a secret on the web but still shipping :-). So, checked the GC and Thomann sites instead. https://www.thomann.de/gb/alto_ts_312.htm https://www.thomann.de/gb/headrush_frfr_112_active_monitor.htm?ref=search_prv_6 I have considering changing my “modified HIFI-speakers” and InterM R500+ (do sound great) to something handier. Would like the Yamaha’s, but as a non-pro to pricy. Looked at the Headrush FRFR 112 and what I can see they get good recommendations. Compared to the Alto TS212 (also good recommendation), it looked like it was a new power amp in the Headrush. Looking at the Alto TS312, they look identical except some cosmetic in the printing on the backside and the frequency range. Same box, same weight, same power… Anyone compared? Anyone tried the Alto TS312? Anyone tried the Alto TS310? I would like to have the 10” version as it's lighter/less bulky. /Per

If need to power the Helix with inverter/generator then perhaps consiering add room for a powered monitor in the rating too. //Per

Thanks DunedinDragon. Interesting... I have tried a few IR before but with mixed succes. Actually, stock har been more successful, but not 100%. And I would love to get a good brown sound. Had a few on my POD HD Pro. This IR collection really kicked me. Jazz, blues and rock are my areas. Closer to a decision... am on a music trip in south of US for some musical inspiration (New Orleans today and leaving for Austin tomorrow, full of ideas allready...). Order when I get back home. Anyone having a sound recording more on the cleaner/od-side I would be more then happy /Per

Hi I havet bin looking at the Ownhammer 12 MRBW GNR M25 MMMC IR's. Have anyone tried them and if so, experience and thoughts? The dist/rock tone sounds greate in the demos. How about a bit more clean or over drive sound? Does it work? Curious if it could be my one to go IR… but havn't found a demo using the ”less havy/distorded” sounds. Maybe not what it was hade for... /Per

Hi Had a similar problem. You should not be effected now, but there was a Windows 10 update little more than a week ago made the USB-ports go bananas. It was fixed by an update last week. So, if your extra PC haven't been updated that could be your problem. My symptoms was lost my Focusrite sound card, my Helix kept losing connection, my USB bank ID didn't connect and so on... Reinstalling Helix Edit didn't help...the update did. Win 10 should make this automatic, but you need to be on line. //Per

Hi Have had some serious problem with my Helix constantly deconnecting from Edit, or vice versa. First thought was the upgrade to 2.53. But, this was Win 10. One of the latest updates generated an USB issue. It has been solved in a bugfix, think during this week. So, if you haven’t and have problems with strange things related to Helix unit/Edit, make sure Win10 is updated. I got the notice from one of my driver utilities... So, just a hands up. Cheers //Per

Line 6 Helix - The Set Of All Settings (SOAS) Project
PerS replied to Noobian_Prince's topic in Helix
Very honorable, much respect for that decision... See the numbers you got as guidelines. So many other factors that affect the road to realize the perfect and my own sound. See it more like a way to get a perspective and maybe handle some parameters a little differently. Get new starting point to be creative. Simply get better. You made it in a way I have never seen a forum before. At least not digital modeling of amplifiers and effects… :) and I’m not going to miss this opportunity. Thanks /Per -

This is so great. Will go through this info and try it next weekend. Really nice job, impressive. One question from looking briefly - In your initial post you have an example of the Brit Plexi Brt. On the “Paid†rows there is some blanks, why? Not available, not collectible… Same on the last two rows to. Interesting notice that the Paid ones, almost all, had Hum and Sag set to “0.0â€. Same tendency for Ripple. Looking forward to the weekend :) //Per -
CNTL + click on the slider set that sliders parameter to default value (workes in Windows, don't know Mac). Usefull when tweekt into a corner.... Wish for undo though as it does not for example set a cab type or mic type back to defaul or whant to compare tweeks back and forth or go back some steps, but not to default or accedently moves a slider or... But the HX Editor is great, thanks L6. Some really great amps too /Per

Thanks specracer986 Well, may be so I saw the light in 2.30 ... ;) or long for summer, cold and dark in Sweden right now. Anyway , correct it and some other minor errors - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucs3dtvfwy9aq5l/Line6%20Helix-Model%20Summary%2C%202%2C30-P1.0-07.pdf?dl=0 Cheers Per

Hi Don’t know if anyone is interested in a model cheat cheet ... if there is, an updated version is now available based on Helix firmware v 2.30 here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucs3dtvfwy9aq5l/Line6%20Helix-Model%20Summary%2C%202%2C30-P1.0-07.pdf?dl=0. The document is a bit remade from last - Now 4 pages as the new models made it impossible to get the document readable on 2 pages. Has also added some default values. Hope it may be helpful. By the way, awesome update – Smooth update procedure and really nice models - Voltage Queen, Cartographer, Derailed Ingrid and Kinky Boost already big favorites. So cool... //Per

Hi Get one of these -http://lehle.com/EN/Little-Lehle-II. Got my hands on the LTHZ-transformer incl in this and have used it for years. Today I use it between my little pedal board in front of the Helix. Used it to my POD HD before. Goes from very disturbing/envying hum, to focus on playing :-). If you can't get your hands on the transformer it self (got it from a company in Sweden and made a box with phase shift and two out, one isolated and one pass through, not stereo though) and build a unit, there in different models here - http://lehle.com/EN/AB-Switcher, well made and many applications. Image/icon is a sine wave and a X over it. //Per

You see the firmware revision on the bootup screen on the unit //Per

Hi Zefinho I allso tured off all wifi devices to be sure of no interferences, router, tv, chromecast, chinnema receiver, sat tuner... just in case. But my units never connected so it was like a last test. Open a ticket. Line6 support help you, they are great. About quality I do not want to say, I have a good experience so far of Line6 gear and that was why i desided to go for the g70. In my investigation before buying I have not found hardware beeng a spred probleme. I can have missed it... but not in my mind. I'm confident that this was just bad luck. Will contact my vendor today to initiate an exchange. Hope it goes well for you too. /Per
