New to the Helix. So here's my current setup: Ibanez RG655 with a SD JB in bridge > HELIX LT > Alto 312 My only issue with current setup is this, High notes specifically on higher frets lack clarity, brightness and tightness. It's almost as though my Helix is clipping. My rhythm work sounds fine. But anytime I tear into alternate picking three per string type stuff it's almost like something can't process the signal. I should note I play High gain, primarily using the PV panama patch. Tried with the noise gate bypassed. I've tried bypassing the TS808 and LA compressor with little success. I've toggled my global EQ on and off employing a LOW cut of at least 70k and a High cut of 8k. Toggled all parameters of the head. Changed mic on my cabs Turned the volume up on the ALTO so my input signal from Helix is low. I also bought the cheapest mic cable available at GC so I've pondered if that may be it? Please for the love of God, someone help me here.

Realize many FRFR threads but would like to hear from Mission Gemini users is it worth it? I've been playing my Helix through a pair of Alto TS112's that I bought five years ago for $220 apiece. Didn't feel the sound was all there so for the past year been using Helix as a pedal board via 4CM into my Marshall dsl40c. Seeing these Mission Gemini 2 comments and reviews. Is it worth it for Helix? If you made the leap to a really expensive Mission Gemini solution for your Helix did you feel the upgrade was worth the money. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Hey there Helix Forum! I am seriously considering swapping to the Helix, as opposed to my traditional pedal board. It has been weighing on my mind for months now. Cost wise, my pedal board upgrade will be equivalent to buying a Helix and 2x Alto's. Also i could sell my current pedal board and nearly have enough for the Helix. I have been doing some research into running FRFR speakers instead of through guitar amp, and I'm 99% sure that FRFR will be the way to go. My current amps include a HotRod Deluxe, Supro Saturn Reverb and a V40 Deluxe with cab. Most posts on what speakers to use reference either the ALTO 210 or ALTO 212. I will be looking to use them as one, or get two to run as stereo. My other question is what input is best from Helix to speaker? 1/4in????? Taking all recommendations. Also, any comments to sway my mind to swapping to Helix over traditional, I've probably heard it before, but push me over the edge! Im about 89.7% decided on Helix. Regards, Rory.

I've been playing my new Helix through headphones and my Marshall DSL 100 with 1960 cab. I just can't get this thing to sound good through the Marshall. Based on this forum, it sounds like sand alone speakers is what I need as opposed to using an amp cab. This is for home use only. But my home set up is a fairly large room and I like playing loud when no one's home. I assume I need to skip powered monitors and go for bigger speakers. I can afford a single Line 6 L2T or dual PA speakers (Say a pair of Alto 212's). What do you guys recommend between a single L2T versus 2 PA speakers? Thank you very much! Bryan

Hi there, I intend to buy a Helix Rack which I would like to use as my sole audio interface at home. To Helix I will connect two Yamaha HS7s and a PA speaker - Alto TS 215W. Here's what I would like to know: 1. Would it be possible to force Helix Rack to have system audio playback (Youtube, guitar pro, etc.) come only through my monitors (no Helix-processed intrument sound coming through them) and Helix-processed bass guitar sound coming from the Alto when practicing playing bass (alternatively together with audio playback)? 2. Would I need to have an additional USB interface (e.g. Focusrite) for this purpose? 3. Would Helix LT suffice to do what Helix Rack can?

I know the question of which FRFR speaker comes up a lot. I did a gig Friday with my own equipment and used my Alto TS110A as the main. It was a small outdoor event and it had plenty of output. The other videos I've shared have always been using the house PA at other places, so I wanted to post to give an idea of what the Alto sounds like. To me it's a great bang for the buck. Hi guys! Just got my new Alto TS115a active monitor that i planned to use with my bass guitar through my Pod HD500x. The problem is that it is "farting out" while playing the low E-string (tuned to drop D) allthough, all the other strings sound just fine. The patch is created with an AKG k240 headset and sound great through them. Is the Alto TS115a faulty or are my patches in need of serious tweeking? I was thinking that the Alto maybe just couldn't handel the low bass freq, allthough it's rated for 48 Hz -18 kHz (@ - 10 dB) and I've red on several forums that both low-tuned guitar and bass players use them as a FRFR speaker. I tried to do some bass cut in the cab-settings but the "distortion" doesn't really go away. I also tried to lower the amp-sim's bass knob, but the problem only goes away when it's down quite low, and then there's not enough bass.... Any help would really be appreciated! /Danne

So I've spent quite a bit of time deciding which active monitor to buy to use at home for dialing in patches. I've been using an old Crate PA system with a left channel that no longer works. It's a big, heavy, and bulky 3 piece system that stays in my basement, but it worked for the purpose of helping create patches for when I play live. Since all of the rest of my guitar gear is upstairs (2 levels up from the basement), I've been using a decent pair of PC speakers plugged into the headphone jack on my POD. It works for practicing, although the POD clips the speakers on a number of patches, even with the volume fairly low on the speakers. I'd been planning on getting an active monitor and looked at Behringer, Kustom, and a few others. I finally settled on the Alto TS110a and it arrived today. It's bigger than I expected and is currently sitting atop my Peavey Vypyr VIP II amp. I've only had about 15 or 20 minutes to play through the speaker, but I am very happy with what I'm hearing so far. It sounds better than my Crate PA system and speakers, and is much closer to the sound I get when plugged into the deck playing live, and of course it's a huge upgrade over the PC speakers I've been using for practicing. So the big benefits for me are 1) not having to take my guitar and POD to the basement when I want to build a new patch and 2) having my practice time sound much better. The speaker also has 2 separate inputs, each with it's own volume control for mixing, and each input doubles as either XLR or 1/4". The speaker lists for $349, but the street price is $249, and so far I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I'd almost decided to go with a Behringer Eurolive until I stumbled upon an older post somewhere recommending the Alto speakers. After researching, it sounded like what I wanted, and now that I have it, I'm glad it's what I went with. At some point, unless I discover something I don't like (which doesn't seem likely at this point), I'll probably end up buying a second one to run them in stereo. I see lots of posts here and on other forums asking about affordable active monitors, so I thought I'd share. If you're looking for something like this, you might want to check one of these out to see if it's something that would fit your needs.

Hi i need opinions of this PA Alto SXM112A, for the pod hd 500, is worth or not? i play in church trough mixers and line array systems so for monitoring i use a small acoustic amp, sounds good but not have the same tone of the line array. So i need opinions somebody?
