I guess I'll end up testing it out then. I preordered one through Sweetwater and have a Shortboard laying around here somewhere that I ordered this past Summer. The sales rep said the phones have been ringing off the hook for them (the Amplifi). If effect on/off doesn't work, I'll probably end up ordering the FBV Express (smaller) for jammin' around. Either way, It's not a big deal as I plan on running the 500x through the aux in for use outside of the house.. We'll see how that works out. If it doesn't, It's going back.

Anyone know what the functions of the FBV Express and FBV Shortboard are with this amp?

I still say #EpicFail This might be a fun toy for a high school teenager.. Sure.. Who is just starting out.. Or someone looking for something simple for practicing at home or something.. They would have hit a home run if they at the very least added post preamp stereo inserts that disable the preamp. There would have been a LOT more happy people around here.

This is taken from another forum.. Take it with a grain of salt. "That and the Line 6 rep stating something along the lines of if this isn't what you were hoping for, just wait. There was an implication that more would be released yet this year."
-
On another note.. If I wanted to use the Shortboard with an amp (like it is looking like this will accept).. I'd go pick up one of the early Atomic Reactor amps off E-Bay and make sure it has the POD insert.. Then get the POD HD desktop model. That whole setup would likely only cost $200 more than this amp if bought new (and the Atomic Reactor used).. Probably just as cheap if you bought it all used.
-
Agreed! LOL And they did say that it was Pregnant. That almost makes me question the integrity of anything they have up to a degree.
-
IF it is HD modeling in it.. I MIGHT consider it. I'd also think that they would release more amps for the HD line.
-
Couldn't agree more on that. Lets hope the Mission FRFR is priced reasonably. Gonna be a few weeks till we find out, probably.
-
Agreed there. Just a bummer. Had they released something like Mission and released it at similar pricing to what this is and add L6 Link.. They would have been gold.
-
I'll pass, then. Line 6 hasn't reinvented anything.. But I'll hold further speculation till further and official release of specs, etc.
-
No FX Loop or L6 link stated.. Yet. If not.. This is a flop for those that want to integrate their POD units.

Qsc Copying Line 6?
RNRage replied to Digital-sound's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
To stay on topic though.. And get slightly off of it again.. I guess we live in a copycat world if you think about it. All the gear (well, most of it) we look at is copied off of something. -
Qsc Copying Line 6?
RNRage replied to Digital-sound's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I'd like the Line 6 setup if their StageSource speakers didn't cost an arm and a leg, lol. I still have my full PA set up in about 30 minutes.. Including the Mixer & Rack, snake, 2 mains with 2 subs, and 3 monitors. I guess the mixer was a no brainer for me, as I already had an iPad. It's possible that if I didn't have the iPad, the extra $500 could have been used to throw an extra $250 at each main driver to pick up them L2M's. -

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/DL1608L You need an iPad, but that's more of a winner in my book than either QSC or Line 6 as far as a mixer goes. And that Mackie is old news, lol. I have the 8 channel version and It's absolutely flawless. -

Since this post.. I had one of the 10" drivers in the Altos crap out. I took them both back and they gave me a full refund. Earlier today, I picked up a Tech 21 Trademark 30. Holy crap! I went L/Mono output to the FX return and adjusted my parameters.. Changed my settings and whatnot.. And started to practice with the band. Definitely loud enough. The power amp section of this amp is plenty loud. Took to the 500x very very well. I'll be micing it up in live situations, so no issue there. The xlr direct out just didn't sound right.
-
For what It's worth.. I Just picked up a Trademark 30 today. I ran my L/Mono to the Return on the FX Loop on it, and it sounds freaking awesome. Just like a lower watt PE60. For the gigs I do, It'll cut just fine. Guitar is always mic'ed. This Friday will be the test.. Though I did do our practice today with it and it worked great. Such an awesome tool going direct into the amp, as well. Can't wait to mess around with it for recording. Did I mention It's something like 15 lbs?
-
Appreciate the quick response! Before I start a new thread.. Maybe I can get this answered here. If I'm running a 500x direct to my computer via usb.. Can I route it to POD Farm, then to the DAW (in my case, Logic Pro X, if it matters)? Or would I need to go L/R output from the 500x (into say, the KB37)?
-
Can you record separate simultaneous tracks from the KB37? IE: Vocals via one of the XLR inputs,a synth via L/R line inputs, and an acoustic via guitar in.. And have it on 3 separate tracks.
