  1. Wait a minute. You mean to say you're not? I thought I remember seeing some pictures of your amp storage room at Line 6 that had a console in there that allows you to fiddle with the universe's constants.
  2. Lol. You expect someone to go all the way back to the distant original post? Just kidding, obviously. I rightly feel stupid now. Looks like I misread the original situation. However, increasing the mix at the same time as the pitch will produce a slightly different sound than increasing pitch with mix at 100% all the time. It still remains that even if the mix is left at 100%, it shouldn't make a difference, but it does. Increasing both pitch and mix at the same time might be what DannedeBoer could be looking for though.
  3. But in this case, 50% means no pitch shift at all, 0.0. So even if mix is 100%, the pitch glide shouldn't do anything, or at least it seems that's how it should work. Seventy-five percent is +1 octave.
  4. Tried the patch with my bass and I get the same thing you mentioned above about the pitch glide affecting the tone when enabled even though the pitch setting is neutral. It's a phasing kind of effect. I also notice that when the mix is turned to zero, this effect goes away. Not sure exactly what's going on, but it seems to be something with the pitch glide itself and it being placed on one of the two paths. I suppose it could be a bug, or it could be designed this way for some reason. You could move the pitch glide before the path split, and it's somewhat better then, but it still colors the sound despite a seemingly neutral setting. But that will change the idea of two different tones per path you want. Not sure if there's any way to work around this.
  5. Ha. That would actually work in the rare instances when you're not paying attention to what you're doing. In addition to the nagging, they should initiate a random pattern and color LED flashing mode.
  6. I don't know about that. The weak point might be when you're actually going to save a preset and your mind is elsewhere. By the time you've hit the save button twice it's too late, because that's when you're mind returns and you've realized what you've done. Good reason to keep backups. But I don't think there's any amount of programming they can do to account for something like that.
  7. Thanks for all the wonderful compliments everyone! Really means a lot.
  8. The state of the LED is determined by the first effect - if there's more than one effect on a switch - in the signal chain.
  9. The tron-up, and -down, is modeled from Musitronics Mu-Tron® III. The way it's modeled in the HD seems to be somewhat different than the real thing as far as settings. The gain setting could be Q, and the peak setting could be frequency, or vice versa. For settings check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiz2yTuO3qQ
  10. No worries. Click the more reply options button. Then you'll see a 'the browse...' button to select the file from your computer and finally the 'Attack This File' button.
  11. Thanks Darrell. Happy you enjoyed it.
  12. Just zip it, or just change the extension, and attach it to a post.
  13. Now that you mention it, I do recall hearing a flange, phasing, or hollow type effect simply because the pitch glide is there and turned on with completely neutral settings. I wonder if it has something to do with a slight delay being present when turned on, something to do with DSP usage. Some effects do do that. I remember a section of MeAmBobbo's guide uses this principle as an advantage when using dual cabs so the cabs are not so much out of phase with each other. If you have the patch, I can try it out and see if I get what you're hearing.
  14. I think Peter hit it perfectly with his posts. Helix is a new product class for Line 6 to have. With that surely must come a different future than the HD series. The fact that Line 6 is having a little trouble supplying people with Heli(x)©es can only mean good things for the future of Helix. They've got a winner, they know it, why would they slow down with it in the immediate or somewhat longer term? Besides that, at least one Line 6 person has said good things are coming, but because of the editor snobs :) (count me as one), things are held up a little now.
  15. Thanks. No plans to stop writing. It's just something I feel compelled to do. Glad you like it. The lead tone's heart comes from a cab and IR placed in series. First is the 4x12 SoloLead EM, 57 dyanamic at 9" and a Rosen Digital Carvin Legacy IR. Thanks. Appreciate it. A lot of the dynamics comes from a combination of things. Playing style, a simple pitch, +1 octave, with a pedal controlling mix from 0 to 50, and a wah with the same pedal controlling position, 0-100, and mix, 34-100.
  16. I think you make a good distinction here. It's a fine line between expecting specific further developments and more general ones, as has been mentioned in previous posts. You can certainly set yourself up for disappointment even with general expectations. But as long as any expectations are realistic, you're probably fine and won't look at Line 6 in a bad way. Sometimes I look through the ideascale entries for Helix and there's a lot that are just ridiculous. It's mostly a matter of determining what things are realistic. But my original point was to expect a device like Helix, given today's technology, not to have any further development at all is also unrealistic.
  17. I don't buy this as a valid excuse for justifying the implied stagnation this idea holds. Especially for something as technologically advanced as Helix, and the fact that Helix has intentional designs in place for it's further advancement.
  18. Hey everybody. Latest composition, done completely with Helix, has taken form. It's called Aphotic Yâ‚“. Soundcloud or Bandcamp. Thanks for listening. Especially if you can get through the whole 6:22. I know my music is not exactly easy listening. I gotta say I absolutely love the sweep echo delay. It's certainly in the top three for my favorite delays. Probably number one. Bravo to Line 6 for this.
  19. I've heard of people suggesting to file some rubber off the piece that's nearer the front of the pedal to make the pedal switch easier to engage, but never the heel piece. I think you may be right that recalibration would basically undo any material removed, making the material removal pointless. Might want to try blowing any dust from underneath the pedal as one last thing to try before calibration.
  20. This was an annoyance for me with the HD500X's pedal. It appears to be the same problem you're having. And yes it is possible to achieve this. It's how it should work. What I had to do was occasionally recalibrate the pedal. I know you said you did this. But another problem for me was recalibration sometimes took multiple tries so that the pedal actually goes from 0 to 255. Another thing to check is the tension of the pedal. Use the allen wrench to adjust. It could be it's set too loose for the pedal's own weight and is slightly falling.
  21. I've heard of doing this before, using an amp in front of another amp. Never tried it, but I'll have to make sure I do. And HA!. Try and do this in the real world. Modelers are great.
  22. Your videos are entertaining to watch! I agree with tagmusenmagnus1. The mic could use some sort of EQ.
  23. Maybe it's different for the L6 Link. In some cases and for some devices (not sure about Helix's use of this), isn't this connection more than just a digital audio signal? Doesn't it contain some sort of two-way control info? The manual doesn't say anything about USB being limited if the L6 Link is used.
  24. I use both USB (all 8 channels on occasion) and spdif at the same time. No limitations as far as I can tell.
