I didn't save that list, which I sometimes have the habit of doing, but I can remember the list being very similar to what exists in the POD series with at least one exception: the XXL-V30, which was missing or under a different name. It wasn't that important because of the IR loading capability. By the way, here's an ideascale link to add phase shifters to the Helix.

Here's one dedicated to a reverse delay: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Reverse-Delay-for-Helix/740489-23508?submitted=1

The link for the autowah is broken. Here's one dedicated to phasers: http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Phasers-for-Helix/740488-23508?submitted=1

But what if he has the y-axis reversed for up/down movement, which is normally reversed to begin with in planes? So that means to make the plane go down he has to push down and we have to vote up, twice? And when we vote up the plane travels down, once? When we vote up then down the plane does a reverse loop? Now I'm getting confused.

Always love it when people are wowed. Thanks.

Didn't mean to take a dig at you DI. Sorry about that. I get that you're the guy out there representing Line 6, probably a lot on your own time too, and that your bound by rules if you want to keep your job. The concern was more about Line 6 maybe reconsidering their policy a little, to be a little more open and flexible with their customers. After all, you guys make such a flexible device. But it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. By the way you do an awesome job of answering questions, the ones you can.

A generalized update scheme would be nice to know, and it would push me personally towards a purchase. There's the idea that you should buy a product like this for what it does, not what it might do in the future. Nothing really wrong with this, except you know the device will be updated at some point. I'm sure most have heard the "not at launch" phrase, which implies future updates. So nothing specific really needs to be stated, just something general rather than not committing to anything at all, or teasing people. Line 6 should really display better communication in this area.

Thanks billlorentzen. Really nice to say. And you've caught on to one of the things I try and do while writing, which have the music guide me instead of the other way round.

Without starting to look at the guts of it, maybe try spraying some compressed air underneath, into the hole. Unlikely though. The pushing hard on it might be a clue as to a short being triggered on a pcb that might be underneath. You could try disassembling the housing to take a look. Taking the pod's casing apart isn't really that difficult. But then again, you can't get it to work at home you say. Is the floor the pod is placed on different at your house from elsewhere?

I like the air guitar, very mysterious. Somehow it just sits there, taunting you to play it.

That's one of the first things I noticed too, which incidentally has since been taken down, at least the original postings of it. Like you, I hope that list is incomplete, even for a version 1.0. And one thing that leads me to believe it is incomplete is the other day I saw a mention on TGP that a panner effect is included, but the initial version of the list didn't have that, so that's something at least.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Much appreciated. More good news. Implant went well and now I get to take oxycodone for a while. hehe.

Here's the dimensions I found listed by DI, or silverhead, or phil_m, or TheRealZap, sorry can't remember who, for all the Helix products: Helix 22.05 x 11.85 x 3.6 inches; 14.6 lbs. Helix Rack 19 x 5.25 x 9.5 inches; 9.3 lbs. Helix Control 17.2 x 2.5 x 9.4 inches; 7.2 lbs.

Finished a new song, Transformative Annihilation, soundcloud or bandcamp, using the new 5150 for guitar lead and the SVT Bright with 4x10 Rhino cab for bass. This song is about the weak nuclear force. From a human point of view, it's about leaving something behind in exchange for something new and unknown with a residual haunting memory, good or bad, of the old affecting the new. Enjoy. Now off to get a tooth implant. Fun fun fun. transformative-annihilation-hd500x-hd500.zip

Wow. The HD really sounds harsh in this video.

You can still bring your guitars on the plane. Install some giant, aerodynamic speakers on the outside of the plane, have it fly low, travel over every continent, and the whole world can hear you play.

Uh oh! It appears you're not a Boeing 777 anymore.

I remember reading somewhere, in some thread, it was likely in this forum, that the way the expansion packs for the PODs were modeled was based on the way the modeling was done in the Helix. Kind of a Helix model ported to the PODs. So if that's true, is the model packs for the PODs a slight approximation of how the Helix models might sound in comparison to the older POD amps? I know I was pleasantly surprised at how good the amps in the model packs, particularly the 5150 and bass amps, are compared to the older ones. A definite difference to my ears. If I had to put a subjective number on this, I would say the models prior to the model packs are ~10% less quality. So I'll take a guess and say the modeling in an actual Helix might be ~20% better quality than a POD? -
Don't worry about the down points. I don't want my head crushed. I have enough problems with my head, as is evidenced below. LOL Sometime in the recent past I suspect you changed your avatar again. First it was the circle of guitars, then the checkered pattern -- and here's where the funny part starts -- then the current checkered pattern with the optical illusion of a tunnel. This last avatar change coincided with radatats escaping hell and giving up the Evil. My theory is you provided him the means to escape via your newly constructed avatar which is actually a portal to/from hell. Or is it one way only? I haven't figured out yet where this plane suddenly popped up from, or how it fits into everything yet. Did it come from the portal? Is it somehow an anti666 device, or is it really a disguised 666 device because you left the portal open for things to escape. What happens if you reverse the optical illusion? Lots of strange sh!t going on lately. And how does all the black and white colors fit in. Black and white avatar, mostly white plane. Black windows on the plane. Does this have anything to do with the giant stay puff marshmellow man?

There's really no easy or convenient, or really any way, to do this. Some might suggest setting up presets with some of your commonest default settings and use that as a starting point, but that seems clunky and more effort than it's worth. The new Helix can copy FX blocks at least.

In HD Edit, if you select help>about POD HD500X Edit, it should say what model packs are installed. The device has to be turned on and synced with the computer. On the device, if you hold the View button, this brings up the system menu, and it's the last page, 12, that tells you what model packs are installed. The model pack will take the form of having more amps to select from. That's it. If you're not seeing any of the vintage pack amps in your amp list, then something is wrong.

Direct comparisons between HD and HX would be most welcome, as long as the settings between the two are as close as possible, and the same riff played, by the same person, for each sample. When the settings would eventually be revealed, reveal every detail. And no externally sourced IRs. But I doubt very much Line 6 would do this. I just can't see it. Why would they publicly downplay one of their own products? But someone who will eventually have both devices would likely do something like this. On the off chance they would do this, please don't forget about Ibanez guitars. In fact, forget the Fenders, Gibsons, and JTVs. Just use Ibanez. Just kidding, of course. I thought about pre-ordering too, but am holding back. Mostly because of the effects list. It's missing some critical things for me. While there's no doubt for me that, tonewise, the HX will sound better than the HD, it's just a matter of how much. Since the amps packs for the HD series are just a taste of what the HX might be like, that's enough for me because I was quite impressed with most of the stuff in there. -
Other than loading/saving by an entire setlist, or batch (all setlists), not really. You can drag multiple patches at once from hd edit to your file manager, but not the other way.
