  1. thanks for the advise, I will do the hx edit update first!
  2. I am at work and have not tried the update yet. Some people tried to do the update through update version 1.19. Others (or most) seem to start with updated HX Edit to 3.0. Which is the best way to start the update process?
  3. I downloaded the (4) ir's. Thanks Coda Media. I am a big fan of the Boston sound (having owned a rockman back in the day). And I love the sounds of Def Leppard (especially on Hysteria). I am not great at making killer tones on my Helix, I hope someone can upload some tones with the new ir's. I'd love to get close to the Def Leppard tones heard on Hysteria. On a side note - Original Rockman X100's go for a lot of money these days! There is demand for them!
  4. An extensive search online did not turn up anyone named Michael Price selling presets. Can you or someone else please post a link or name correction? thanks!
  5. I totally agree. I don't need another amp or distortion box. If you can't craft the sound from the existing helix offerings, what will another amp or distortion box do? I also want more polyphonic options! Also more of the specialty pedals would be great too - like the Jangle Box or Hedris offerings.
  6. I just checked it out. Yes, very classy and great news! Helix rocks!
  7. I don't recall the name, and it was pricey, but someone produced a plexi-glass laser-cut cover for the helix that was designed to eliminate this very problem. Perhaps searching the archives or google can shed additional light on this product.

    Helix 2.9

Thanks Phil, you're the guy I was referring too as someone who knows a lot about how Line 6 works!

    Helix 2.9

I thought there was one person who replies on this forum often that worked for line 6. Perhaps he just has a lot of inside information. I am fascinated by how the line 6 team writes code for the Helix family, and was hoping to gain some insight into if this is done under one roof or remotely. All good, stay safe everyone! And in the grand scheme of things, what's going on in the world, certainly puts the complaining and anxiety of waiting for these updates into proper perspective.

    Helix 2.9

I suppose I could do the research and read everything under the sun, but short of that, I thought perhaps a helpful thought or answer from a user or employee would be better. Luckily for me, others were more helpful.

    Helix 2.9

I was a little hesitant to ask, but here goes (hesitant because I don't want to get jumped on for being insensitive to the covad-19 crisis) With so many of us home these days, I'd love for 2.9 or 3.0. to be released. Do you think the engineers and code writers are working from home and may be able to release2.9 soon, or is this a more -collaborative office effort where everyone needs to be under one roof, so development and error checking has been put on hold? I have no idea how the employees working on this project work together (offsite vs. onsite). Any idea?
  12. Now we are getting somewhere! How do you expect people to help you if you can't express what you are really looking for?
  13. I would love to see vintage Eddie and a snapshot with Eruption And how about a Def Leppard Pyromania tone with snapshots of all those incredible tones found on that album thanks!
  14. One last thing I'd like to add as one of the posters mentioned precious real estate considerations and the cost of a booster. I totally realize some may have to factor in these issues and challenges. My solution of a dedicated boost came out of the need to sometimes increase volume when my hx-stomp and my helix floor were turned up to the max and I needed more volume when using the Power Cab standard and other powered speakers and needed more volume. (Please don't tell me to boost the PC standard, that option was not designed into this model. I purchased a used TC mini spark for around $30.00 on ebay and I built a pedal board 4" x 4" that I place close to my powered speaker (either on top or behind or on the floor). The purpose of the 4 inch x 4 inch pedal board was so that I could permanently attach a boost and adapter and ac chord and quickly set up for a gig or jam. A 4x4 inch board is very light and easily fits into my gig bag and takes up just about zero real estate. This solution cost about $30.00 to make (I had wood, paint, extra cables, extra velcro) etc. and works for my needs. It seems to boost every tone on-the-fly by the same ratio and if the drummer or other guitarist turns up, I'm right there with them, and I can turn up my boost as needed, on the fly. This solution may not needed by many, and my solution does not work for every need, but it's a low-cost, quick-fix solution that does not add space requirements to pedal boards or the space you need on stage or in practice.
  15. I just reread the op request. He wants to uniformly add volume when needed for an entire gig. Once. He makes no mention of needed a dedicated footswitch on the helix. My suggestion works just fine and will add appropriate volume on every single tone.
  16. that's clever and great. But what happens if your helix volume knob is at the max?
  17. I had a very similar need recently as I purchased a power cab standard and found my hx-stomp and helix floor needed to be louder to work with this powered speaker. I purchased a used tc mini boost. It's a very powerful and very clean boost. I send my signal from the helix into the boost and can make every tone equally louder. Works like a charm as long as it's after the helix in the chain.
  18. yes some boosts add noise and worse, overdrive. the spark really does a neat job of adding volume w/o noise and overdrive. hopefully you and I won't blow a speaker or over-tax the powercabs (I have a feeling we will be ok)
  19. there is no l6 link or editing capabilities on the PC standard.
  20. thanks for the reply. Somehow it turns out, after getting the pc standard - it was not loud enough. I manually went into each tone and set each one louder by about 7 db. that seemed to help. I am also going to use a tc mini spark. From the output from the pedal board (which includes the hx-stomp) right into the booster and then into the powercab.
  21. sorry this place is so quiet and you did not receive a response. I am in the same boat - I am using the hx-stomp and the standard powercab and I am having volume issues. I made each of my presets louder by about 7 db and that should help somewhat. I am not sure if you can do that with your Mooer. However, I just ordered a tc spark mini booster. I already have one on my pedal board for boosts but the new one will be dedicated right in front of the powercab and it's sole purpose will be to lift each and every tone, to a louder level. I find the tc mini spark is a great value and absolutely increases loudness without changing tones or adding drive or distortion.
  22. thanks! Many pc + users have complained that the pc + comes set up with a huge negative db setting, that makes the amp out-of-the-box set at a lower volume. Since the pc standard does not have editing capabilities, can anyone confirm that pc standard amps are not set with a low db setting and should not have the loudness issue that pc + users have complained about? thanks
  23. So, if I am 100% happy with my individual helix tones, and do not wish to modify them playing live, then the Powercab 112 will be fine?
  24. perhaps the power plug attached to the unit is loose? Or the power wire on the adapter has a bad connection? Kind of like when headphone plugs get damaged and you twist the wire and one of the channels on the head phones cuts in and out? Perhaps you're losing power for an instant so the system reboots randomly as the power gets resumed an instant later.
