Hope your still within your warranty term. lol I was thinking on the off chance that this might be an incorrectly set parameter in his FX chain causing it to sound like this. Far cry maybe. You can confirm it does this with other presets aswell ? factory presets ?. Is this an elaborate setup with extra units and fx externally connected to the POD ?

Unfortunately I don't think its gonna be possible to ever make our own content. Im certain they got that all pretty well tied up with legality and would breach into licencing territory. We've had these things for over 15 + years, 3rd party coding like that would've happened by now. From what I see, Zoom are the only one's stepping up in this respect. They add many extra FX and Amps in their firmware updates aswell as the StompShare store they have setup for users to buy extra modelled FX and Amps from a selection of around 70 items so far, and rising. As for DSP processors, I see it this way..... If they are going to advertise a design to operate 8 simultaneous slots at one time, then I reckon they should deliver on that promise with an adequate DSP processor that allows ALL 8 to be used simultaneously, in ANY combination of chosen FX/Parameters. Assuming around %30 more DSP performance would cross that threshold, I would happily pay the difference for the extra needed DSP, in a flagship model especially. A far better alternative than starting again with an X version that still has DSP limits. Kinda defeats the purpose of having dual-tone if you cant add much of anything else to them. Im stickin to single amps, but even this config can run into DSP limits. Meh.

There's nothing your HD500 can do that my HD Pro can't and tbh, I wouldn't go as far as to say its "remarkable" for the reasons you stated cause other manufacturers are doing pretty much the same things in their own way. Same crap different bucket. While I agree that the perfecting of algorithms is a priority, I don't think the rest of its architecture should have to suffer for it and if I hear another person utter the words "Amp Sim" Im gonna implode lol. People seem to pay too much attention to it. Sure, perfect your algorithms and modelling, but don't get consumed by it to a point you neglect OTHER important areas of the design. The release of the X iteration is a perfect example of how they got it this wrong. Line6 could've saved face by starting an entirely new flatform instead. And why have we become complacent for a standard that throws "DSP LIMIT REACHED" in our faces dialing up tones ? I never understood this. And I don't mean with just Line6, Almost all MFX pedals seem to have "under-spec" DSP chips put into them. Not so long ago they had all the model packs to expand the POD. Where are they now ? Those are the kind of things that make it worthwhile. And no. I don't hate Line6. Its just a name to me and I wont get caught up in picking favourite "brands". I judge a design by its technical merits. I will credit Kemper for their efforts, they actually brought forth a "new" innovation with their profiling, but id be happier with an AxeFX II. Its a pity they set their price at lofty heights.

Ive basically worked out with the POD HD that I just bought a glorified amp sim, and that's about it. They excel at that, but lagging in FX innovation and then pack it all in a box that can be maxed out DSP wise before you even get to use all 8 simultaneously. Other manufacturers haven't set the limits like Line6 have with their final products are fast becoming the Apple-like company for guitarists me thinks. But hey, I knew what I bought.

lol that I do. I'd prefer to ask here first just in-case a member DOES know. Its quick, its efficient, and I don't need to get in line for 3 days with a ticket to possibly get an answer. If im on a mission, ill take the long road.

If your having troubles with Monkey, you can bypass it by downloading the driver from the support pages within this site and manually install them yourself. Also note, that when you are installing this driver, you should exit both Monkey and Edit before proceeding as to ensure a successful installation. As for why its doing that, it may be that your firewall or security software blocking Monkey's access to the internet. Hope this helps. http://line6.com/software/

When they released the expansions for the older processors, did they delay their release to wait for a certain amount of sales of the hardware first ?
-
I was digging around in the Line6 website and came across the model packs that are for the older Line6 FX processors. Is there, or ever will be, a simular offering for the HD series ?
-
Nice. Best suggestion yet id say. Might even get one myself :)

Im not understanding how that behringer could give you access to channel switchin on those amps. If the behringer connects to the POD HD500 directly via midi, whats going to amp to switch channels ? I see 2 TRS type sockets on the back of the behringer, are they switching outputs rather than inputs ?

Probably had to re-design it and remove a few things to optimize the extra traffic more efficiently. I wasn't even a member when that was up.

You could buy 2 of these and put one before the POD and the other in its FX loop essentially adding 12 extra simultaneous FX to the POD with just 2 pedals! http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/ms-100bt Their distortion algorithms are pretty damn sweet too. Personally, I was thinking of getting a POD HD Pro X and put the POD HD Pro in its fx loop. Hmm I wonder what I could put in the POD HD Pro's fx loop after that... I know ! Another POD HD Pro with an fx loop ! Think I may have GAS aswell. *coughs*

Personally I have the POD HD Pro so im not sure if that's going to be of any help to you...
-
Didn't think of that. And yes, a costly solution for a simple function.

Pod Xt Pro - How To Reset A Preset
NucleusX replied to fretsbr549's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
As I understand it. Factory presets are stored within firmware updates so I imagine you would have to re-write your firmware to restore them. Before doing this, I would make a backup of any customized presets you have created or they will be lost. It may sound over the top, but its the only way. Once you've re-written the firmware, you should then be able make a backup of the factory presets so you can just sync those back to it in future rather than doing this all over again. As for the 2nd part. I think that just refers to recalling that memory or preset "location" and not the preset "parameters" stored within it. -
Yeh id follow those instructions in the link hurghanico provided, I wasn't aware of this particular procedure as its not common to most firmware procedures with MFX pedals.
-
By the way.. Your English is just fine. A firmware over-write is going to reset your global settings to defaults anyways.
-
No. judging from your sound file this mightn't be the cause and if it was, you would most likely need an electrician to assess you home. Or look into a power conditioner/filter. After hearing this again with the stutter I would definitely do a firmware over-write with the same version if you prefer. But I suggest you go a higher version just in-case the problem is unique to your current version, can always go back. Wouldn't cost you anything or make things worse.
-
No I mean away from your home or wherever its located, and take it to another house or property, preferably a few blocks away.
-
If your not prepared to try any of these things cause you think you know what your doing then I don't know what your doing here in the first place. If you don't got an open mind you'll never sort this out. We are trying to give you steps for a process of elimination. "my assumption is that maybe that sound boom scrambled certain frequiencies for the headphones coming from the POD so it shuts down the whole signal" This makes no sense at all. And im not trying to be rude.
-
Sounds like bad filtering or dirty AC power. Maybe take your setup somewhere else away from your power CCT to test. Try a firmware over-write if all else fails.
-
You have another PC you could test this on ?
-
Oh. I assumed you meant firmware aswell. that's an entirely different story. Be nice if that Tonecore stuff worked on these things like I asked in previous post. Then again, ive never heard of any manufacturer that empowers people to that extent concerning fully featured MFX units.
-
And how exactly would you go about that lol ? You going to get an engineering degree to work it out ?
