Tones Load No Change in Sound (new Amplifi)
jdavidboyd replied to surefootedllama's topic in AMPLIFi
Forget about loading sounds from the cloud for a moment. Can you open the presets already installed on the amp? Can you modify those, and have the sound change? -
Second that thought. 1st thing you need to do with an Amplifi after bringing it home is to bring the firmware up to date. And get the latest app to control it.
-
Never even heard of it. When you say 'shut the power off' are you turning it off at the back of the amp, or somewhere else, such as a power strip?

Saving mytones locally with android app?

Once again, I need to learn how to read. Thanks! -
Saving mytones locally with android app?
jdavidboyd replied to gusdeleon's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
Are you certain about that? I thought that the presets are stored in the Amplifi, and controlled through the pedal. What you're saying makes it sound as If I could take my pedal to another Amplifi, plug it in, and have all my presets. I don't believe that is correct. -
I've got my stuff set up in kind of a 'loop'. My laptop headphone output goes to the 'aux in' on the Amplifi. The USB output from the Amplifi goes to my laptop. The headphone jack on the Amplifi goes to a set of headphones. I've been using Audacity to record backing tracks, then play them back to jam along too, and I've heard no muffling or any other bad things.

2nd question - you can't use the FBV Express 2 to change tone banks. You need the FBV Shortboard MkII to do that.
-
That does not happen to me. Is the original poster not running all the latest updates?
-
Wow, that's weird. I've never tried saving to A, B, C, D. Rather I have save to bank 25 A, B, C, D, then used the app to slide those 4 down into the 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D slots, and no errors. Funny how things work (or don't) sometimes.

That's what I was going to ask. It's amazing to me how many times I will google a problem I'm having (writing software, mostly), find the exact same problem someone else had, then they post, "never mind, solved it", but never say how!
-
only with the proper pedal. I have it , but don't recall the name. Its like 'shortboard mk 2' or something. It's got a bank up/bank down buttons, 4 preset buttons, a tuner, a volume/wah pedal. I'm sure someone will jump in with the correct name.

TO LINE 6: PLEASE REMOVE LOGIN INTO AMPLIFI SOFTWARE!!!
jdavidboyd replied to azion22's topic in AMPLIFi
I find it annoying as well. Especially since it seems to wait until the point that I have just forgotten my password. -
It seems to me that Line 6 has decided their products are so "intuitively obvious" to use that their is no need for a manual. I have an Amplifi 150 that I like, but I would have enjoyed reading a real manual. Caveat emptor, I guess.

I think the whole point of a 'playlist' is to 'play the list'.
-
Hmm, good question. I had mine plugged into a power strip for several months, and turned it on and off that way, but if you nervous about it, just keep using the power connection on the back.

I'd like something that defines all the effects better, as in what each setting does on each effect. I've played around a lot, but documentation would certainly be nice

Delay between preset changes with 150 and Shortboard MKII Foot Controller
jdavidboyd replied to jdavidboyd's topic in AMPLIFi
I upgraded to the latest firmware for the amp. And I dug a 6 foot ethernet cable out of my 'extras' box. Delay I get now is about 1/3 second, roughly. I'm very happy with that. Don't know at the moment if it is the software update (probably not), or the short cable (probably). I had the old cable coiled up in a tight loop, twist tied together, and hanging right next to the power line. I'll play around it with it later and determine which it was that fixed it, but I don't really care at the moment. I can use it the way I want to now, so I'm happy. Dave -
Does it control the effect in volume mode, or wah-wah mode? I'm assuming wah-wah mode, but you know what they say about that....

Delay between preset changes with 150 and Shortboard MKII Foot Controller
jdavidboyd replied to jdavidboyd's topic in AMPLIFi
Perhaps not. I purchased my amp and footboard last February, I think, and updated to all the lastest drivers for each at that time. Haven't hooked it back up to my laptop since then. I'll check this weekend and see if anything newer is. I'm going to feel stupid if a software update fixes it.... And all this time I've been living with it. -
Delay between preset changes with 150 and Shortboard MKII Foot Controller
jdavidboyd replied to jdavidboyd's topic in AMPLIFi
Maybe I'm inducing eddy currents or something into my cable. I have it looped and tied behind my amp, with the footboard right in front of the amp. Huh, I'm about out of ideas. Maybe I'll try a 5 ft cable I have at home, and just stretch it out and see what happens. Do y'all have the network cable crossing the power cord, or going nowhere near it? Just grasping at straws now. -

Ah, thanks. One of these days I'll learn to use my eyes for something other than just keeping my brain from leaking out of my skull! :) Have you tried, or could you try, with the cable that came with it, and see what happens? I'd be amazed if that were the problem. If it is verified, you'll make many people very happy! -
Delay between preset changes with 150 and Shortboard MKII Foot Controller
jdavidboyd replied to jdavidboyd's topic in AMPLIFi
How long is your ethernet cable? I'm using the one Line 6 supplied, and I have a 1 second delay between each and every preset. For example, say I'm playing at a slow beat, 1 beat per second. I hit a chord on second #1, a chord on second #2 and tap the pedal at the same time for the next preset, a chord on second #3, and sometime between the tap and second #4, the sound changes. The only reliable way I've found to play with this is to either pick a sound and stick with it for the entire song, or change, and lay out for 2 seconds. -
I've used it to play live with buddies, full band, drums, keys, bass, a horn or two. The only thing I hate about it is that there is a long delay between changing presets, like a full beat before it changes. But not exactly a beat. So now, you have to change the preset before you need the new sound. It is extremely annoying, and if I had know it before I bought it, I wouldn't have. Other than that, I love the amp. I've had no connection problems, I can get all the sounds I want.
