I am using my marshall mg250dfx as a poweramp and 2x12 cab and algo using 3Sigma IR (AC30s) in the patches. To me, they sound really good all together!!!!

Still keep my Digitech GSP 1101, Roland SDE 2500, Korg A2 and Kay Fuzz.

So, according to you, if I like the vintage stuff, it´s implicit that I must tune the guitars they way I want and abandon technology? If that´s what you think, I must be the craziest guy on earth.....vintage guy with a helix floorboard... Nice one mate!
-
that´s exactly wwhat I am doing ....or did I miss something?
-
I´m old school, don´t really like the new technology. Love the old vintage pickups sound....
-
Too expensive for just a feature that won´t be used all the time... Let´s wait for something from L6... Until then, I will tune my guitar in Eb... :D
-
Did what you guys told me to and hitting note by note the sound is ok, no good, but ok.. Making chords...no way, awful!

I considered the Variax, but another guitar? Already have 4 and it takes too much space for me. Also, I would like to listen to my pup's sound (Seymour Duncan Antiquities in a Strat). I have a Fender/Roland Stratocaster G5, but in the alternate tunnings, we don't have Eb, unfortunately! I watched some videos on Youtube and the whammy DT seems to be a really good option, but I bought Helix to downsize and buy another gear for just a couple of song, it's a waste of money in my opinion. Probably, I will keep tuning the guitar in Eb....just a bit more of work, but it is ok...

Volume is not the problem at all....it just doesn't sound right, too artificial and when playing chords, it gets too messy....

Hey guys, I am having a hard time, trying to set a half step down in Helix. Back when I had the GT100, I just set the pedal bend option and it worked just perfectly. I could use a guitar tuned in E and play song in Eb, without having the work to tune it half step down... Is there an option in Helix close to it? I tried to use pitch, but, it doesn't sound right at all! Any tip is welcome!!! Thanks!

Maybe the mix in the effect block?

Anyonde could post the impressions on the difference between mono x stereo? I always used stereo in a 2x12 cab, but never really felt the stereo feeling. Maybe if I used 2 1x12's and some space between them...

Just a silly question, the option trails in Helix's loop menu is ON?
-
pitch -> multidelays -> phaser -> rotary -> octo
-
But why don't you call the preset in H9 when you call the preset in Helix? From what I understand, you could do that, since you turn on/off the loop. This way, the preset would be ready for when you turn ON the loop and would have no problem at all when turning the loop off.

Indeed H9 does not have the spillover capability, but the DSP+FX bypass, which bypass the pedal and the effect continues, just like the spillover. If you're using 2 different presets in H9 and switching between them, then thre is no way out. But if you just use one effect and then bypasses this effect eventually, then you should have the spillover, setting the DSP+FX bypass.

Hey Roscoe5, I checked the amplifi series, and seeme to be really fair. Couldn't find any firehawk available...and neither the DT50 combo. There is a DT25 available, for a high price, but, there it is. Also I found a Vetta II. Don't know if it could be a good choice. There is a Spider Vavlve 212 availablefor a good price. With these options available, would the spider still be the best? Or maybe the DT25? Thanks a lot dor the help! EDIT: Well, there are many options out there. The Fenders are the same price as the Vox's...would still prefer the Vox....:D Anyway, I'm between Tech 21 Trademark 120 and the Line 6 Spyder Valve 212. Both sound to me really good. And the price difference is minimum. I wil check the L6 spyder, since tubes are more interesting to me personally.

Sorry, but if I understood you correctly, you're saying that you can't assign two or more effects to one switch? Something sounds weird regarding this, baceuse I have a patch and in this patch I have7blocks assigned to it. It turns on and off many blocks and there is no latency. But it is true that when switching patches, we face some delay....that's a problem. I believe sometime in the future they will implement something like scenes, but it is all on hardware and programming stuff and they need to check if it is possible/do-able.

But the 44 magum gets really distorted at high level, doesn't it?

I had the same issue with my Kay Fuzz, and disabling trails, just solved the problem!

Well, sold my 2x12's... so now I'm looking for a combo. I found a L2M for sale, but lollipop, costs a bit more than a Vox AC30 CC2....and between them, I would go for a Vox amp. Anyway, now, any tip on a combo, prefer for the 2x12's, but others will be great too. I don't gig, just play at home so, no need for huge power.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but the fryette couldn't find any product here in Brazil. The amplifi series, as well the firehawk are too expensive, more than twice the price compared to the prices in US. I checked and liked the specs of the Roland GA 212. 2 send/returns, would be nice. And the price is not that high...but still is.

Hey guys. I recently sold a great part of my big old rack system, including my Velocity 120 PowerAmp. Now I have the 2x12 sitting there, doing nothing, just annoying more and more my wife. Anyway, I would like to ask you all, for some suggestion on what amp to use with Helix. I don't intend to keep the 2x12. So, I will need something with speaker(s). I do use the amp simulation from helix, which is a big part of my sound. So, I would need the "cleanest sound amp" as possible. I don't care if it is SS or tube, since it gives me a very clean and flat sound (FRFR would be great, but it is not essential). I play only at home, so don't need much more than 20 - 30 watts. I was thinking about the ZT Lunchbox. Really small it has some good reviews. *I saw somewhere, I think in FB page, that someone was using with Acpustic amps. is it good to use it with? Will it be damaged using to much distortion and heavy sounds? (stupid question, I know). Anyway, any suggestion is very appreciated! Cheers, Leo
