  1. Ok thanks, think I'm going to get a set up, and hopefully that will help. Atm I'm very close to sending it back,Don't know if it's the strings or action or both. But it shreds my fingers after about 5 mins to the point I can't play it any more.
  2. Seems a little high down at the bridge end. Not sure how to lower it on this model? TIA
  3. Make sure you've got a guitar lead plugged into the guitar as well as the RJ45 plug. Only needs plugging in at the guitar end, this will activate the modelling link, then it should connect?
  4. I just checked my new JTV was updated to the latest Firmware .I followed this off the 'Line 6 Variax Facebook user group', very helpful people on there. It's pretty easy. Connect your guitar with the VDI cable to the PC/USB box, then connect a standard guitar cable (this activates the variax link). Launch the Monkey which is scanning for devices. You'll then see which firmware the guitar has and if you have available updates. If the guitar is new and/or recent, I guess it's already using latest firmware. If available, update to latest V2.21. When done you can close Monkey and launch the Workbench HD. When done you can close everything and enjoy the Variax. :)
  5. There's alot of people love them, guess you can't please everyone. I've just bought a JTV69S, still in the packaging, not had time to have a play yet as I'm full of cold. But I'll reserve judgement till then
  6. Thanks Dave for injecting some confidence back in this post for me. I live in the UK and I'm not quite sure where the nearest line 6 service centre is, if it should break down. Something I hope I'll not need to do.
  7. Not what I really want to hear having only just bought one that's still in the packaging yet. But yes I've heard of the failings, I don't how wide spread the failure rate is? as people only tend to complain on forums etc when they've had a problem. Hoping I'll have a many good years with it. But yes it will be always in the back of my mind that it could fail at anytime.
  8. I'll keep an eye on this thread then, I'd be interested to see how you get on.
  9. Suppose it all depends if the Amplifi app Android/ios will run on it?
  10. I couldn't for the life of me get my data to connect tonight,so couldn't play any music through it.Been working great for a while. Tried forgetting the connection, still no joy.
  11. I've now started to unplug mine at the switch instead of pulling the mini usb cable out each time after reading this thread. I'm only a bedroom player so it doesn't get moved around much, but I used to unplug it at the cable everytime I'd finished practicing. Shame you have to treat it so delicately.
  12. Thanks Tcamponovo Yeah I'm mostly happy with the sounds of the Amplifi apart from the OD sounds, can't seem to nail one I like.
  13. Wow Struck gold by the sounds!
  14. I'm really thinking of buying one of these, I've got an Amplifi 75 atm with the Express pedal. But really want a whole in one unit. Will then buy some JBLn305s monitor speakers. Plus will buy a Variax sometime,to accompany it. Hopefully this set up will keep me content for a while?
  15. That's good to hear, I've probably hit one out of 100 so far.

  18. Managed to get a few weak one's to squeal a little, took me quite a few try tho. Suppose it all comes down to practice.
