  1. I had a bad format such and such last night. My export froze after 37% complete. I zoomed in setlist by setlist. Start selecting all the presets within a setlist and export the presets to a blank folder. When it hangs it will probably stop at the bad preset. You will have to delete the bad preset or at least move it out of the way for further investigation where it does stop doing your backups.
  2. Same Here, I spent a couple of hours last night and this morning when I checked my selection with fresh ears I was pretty happy with those. Dual cab 1x12 Blue Bell 121-Ribbon 1.5" 4x12 WhoWatt 160-Ribbon 3.0" High frequency cut to about 6.5kHz. I also found for different style the 4x12 1960 T75 20-Dyn 3.0" was quite decent sounding. Those are my pick for all purpose rock and solo work. Cheers
  3. Agreed! "cycling through the assigned blocks by repeatedly touching the footwitch ..." would make a lot more sense... It works well. I like!
  4. YESSSS| At least I hope it works. It'd be annoying me a lot as well. You have to stumble upon the right combinaition to see it. Especially since after only a month I'm still optimizing my patches and start from scratch and all. It made me realize as well that I don't understand the effect details annd I best to use them. Helix manual does not help in this regard. If Line 6 is really commited to the unit I hope they will revise the manual with a rev C and keep it in synch with the futur Flash upgrade. Here I am complaining again. I have to repeat it. I.m totally happy with the Helix. Totaly means different things for different guitarist I know.
  5. I tried the Ownhammer free set and I felt they sounded tighter but in the end they also sounded brighter and by consequence less warm than what I wanted.
  6. I have a JVM410H and got into a bit of trouble with the PC send before I realise there was a setup in the global settings section. Once the PC send was turned of all was behaving normally. Just to make sure we covered all the basics. Once the PC send is turned off the HELIX will stop sendind the usual 1-128 PC message according to the patches number 1A - 0, 1B- 1, 1C-2, etc up to 32-D - 127. It will rely entirely on what you put in the control center (instant and footswitch related PC). What I have done is created memory sttings in the JVM corresponding to the channel/mode I like and associated those to PC number. To do this you have to send a PC message after you press twice on the program button on the JVM. So once you configured the JVM the way you want say preset 2 crunch-orange FX loop on, press twice the program buuton on JVM and then send you MIDI PC message by selecting the HELIX preset 2. I assume you pick the PC number 2. JVM will flash to confirm it received the message. You can then copy the HELIX patch anywhere you want it will always send the MIDI PC 2 message every time you pick that patch. When you say you tried patches from others it suggests it has some intant PC message in the patch or that the PC send has not being disabled in the Global Settings. If there's no instant PC there's no reason why it would change by itself. Hope this help. I tougth my setup was fried as well besause I had two different type of PC message sent. Had my HELIX for a month now. Spent countless hours and am very happy with the purchase. Hope that helps. You'll get there.
  7. I use the 4CM serial FX loop on JVM. The way I'm gonna ue it next time is JVM preamp set on CRUCH-channel Red-mode. FX-1 on Helix is turn on by a switch that also activate a delay specific for lead. The JVM-410H has 4channels with 3 mode each. There is a jump in volume when you go from a green to yellow to red on each channel. The only way to control the jump is by reducing the signal within the Helix by controling levels, activating a gain pedal or a simple EQ at some negative levels, you get the idea, Those changes have to remain active for all the time you using that given channel. The switch has to be in latching mode. When you deselect the switch the selected JVM channel-mode remains selected. (I did not mentionned that I had 12 patches setup preassign on the JVM first corresponding to MIDI PC 1, 2, 3 ... 12 each corresponding to a unique channel-mode ch-1-4 and G-Y-R modes. I first thought I would set a footswitch to send a PC MIDI message to select the perfect JVM channel for the job but you end up having to tap dance a lot and I ran into situation live where you get lost in which status the JVM is in???? Anyhow, I tried with a combination of latching footswitch and momentary but it les than perfect. It would be so easy to fix by adding the possibility of sending a different MIDI PC message when you lit and you unlit like that config for the CC# messages in the global settings. I created an entry in ideascape for it. Please do vote. Thanks http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/On-sending-MIDI-PC-commands/810763-23508
  8. Only one month! Well it's a lot of ground to cover. I have been using a GT-10 for a few years now with my JVM. Nice rig but there always better and more versatile. Got DeLaune patches. Got me started but I needed to work it out for my JVM as well. Not the best of friends since teh MIDI implementation in HELIX cripples what I could achieve but I digress, I created my own simple setup end experimented with the amps, speakers and effects. Yes it is all good but... you still need to take the time get what you really get turned on by. I've just stached the surface so far but found a few decent sounds to cover a lot of territory, mostly rock, hard-rock and more. Sometime I got the feeling it's not quite there but in the mix over a backing track, I'm amazed! Can't stop playing now. It's that good for me. For the stuff I play, Helix is worth it already. Being a OCD type for sound and all guitar related tech I had to investigate the IRs. The free ones from Ownhammer and Redwirez at least. That cover V30 and 1960. I also bought the Diezel G12K100 from cabir.eu. They sounds OK but its a lot of comparaison and decision to make and in the end I did like a combination of speakers I liked for a DUAL CAB in Helix (2x12 Silver Bell-4038 and 4x12 GreenBack20 121). I guess the final call depends on the type of response you need ie-djent, blues, rock. I used the Helix twice live and I modified my programming since. It's getting there. I am planning to use the Helix amp for Clean, tweed and rhytm rock feed to JVM power amp and a 4-th channel to crunch-red JVM for lead through FX-loop. All this in a single preset. No latency !!! Here my first contribution to the custom tone library. 3-amps single preset. I really like it. http://line6.com/customtone/tone/1930788/ After a month. I feel much better about the Helix. Althought I'm ready for an other update to fix as much as possible the little things. I also feel that the effects are a bit on the limited side. I woul even prefer fewer but more flexible. What I'm after is good sounding equipment. I don't care much for reproduction of such and such vintage pedals. OK enough typing. Got to go back playing that thing. Great group! And the Helix is only begining. Fantastic!
  9. It happenned to me as well. Somebody mentionned the sample rate in Global Settings (last in INS/OUTS) for some other issue and since its beside an SPDIF setings I assumed it was related to the rate between the HELIX and the audio interface. I reduced it to 48 kHz and it did not happend after that. As of now I used the USB so it migth be just a coincidence ...
  10. I also have a JVM and I created an entry in ideascape. Problem is the Helix can't send an PC message on reverting to unlit status so there is no way to know for sure after a bit of step dancing which stat is whixch (apart from listen :-) ). To change the behavior in your case just add an empty EQ, assign the switch to it, change the type from latching to momentary, delete the EQ and you set. But we are still stuck with the limits of the PC send setup. As you know if you change from channel 2 mode 1 to channel 2 mode 3 on the JVM there a fair increase in volume, at the moment the only way would be to have level parameter assign to the switch but than you need to work with the latching but again it runs in inconsitencies with switch status after not too long..... Two questions

Yes! If we pick the "Simple Delay" Time value is in ms by default. Push on the knob and it revert to 1/4 (based on current BPM). Turning the knob allow to pick from 1/1 all the way to 1/64Triplet. Hope that help.

Forgot to see that most time based effects where you see msec or else push the button and it change the display in values based on BPM 1/4 etc.

The BPM value is stored per preset. Just touch the TAP buton with your finger to see the value. In addition there's a global setting for per patch or global BPM preference.
  14. Yep! The JVM410H only support PC MIDI messages. So are the H&K meister series amps. That would be the usual way of using the normal PC changes 1-128 implementation. The JVM410H-JS (Joe Satriani handles the CC# commands as well supposedly) Since the HELIX could send specific PC change assigne to a footswitch. I only have to program a few PC on the amp. Say PC 1, 2 and 3 (Clean, Crunch and HighGain) and be done with it. AND! Be able to copy and paste them where I want. All this within a preset without having to deal with the latency of changing the preset. Did I say the L word?
  15. I just opened this. I wish that would be implemented. What do you think? http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/On-sending-MIDI-PC-commands/810763-23508 I wish I could send 2 PC commands assigned to a footswitch. First PC when press a switch and ligth it and a second PC command when I turn off the switch as is done with the CC commands. I tougth the feature would be great to control my JVM based rig but it comes short as it is now and I have to step dance for nothing. Thanks.

    Odd naming bug

I noticed this as well. What I really wish would be to replace the clear function by insert. I decide to identify my presets by starting the names by JVM , ART, PA, etc and I had to rename from first charater..... I know. That's OCD...
