Black stripe a bad idea. Been on the forum for 3 years. I don't need FAQS or basic info. I want my full screen back!

Having trouble getting my Helix Rack stereo effects in stereo
pilottes replied to dfennessey1122's topic in Helix
I mention it because it happened to me but make sure every block following your stereo effect is stereo. I had drop a simple volume pedal without paying attention and it was mono. I even used that patch as a template so I had to change quite a few.... -
I really like the Ts210. You plug the L and R at the same time and you get both channel from the Helix for audio and guiter. And, it can get muvh louder than th TV.

When i realized it was fixed i started to breath easier. Only that fix was enough to warant 2.5. Yes!

It wants to download .dmg file? Idon't recall that type of files
-
Probably right!

I'm just stating facts to give a relative sense of memory needs nothing more. You have smartphone with 64Gb that cost 500$ now. There's always weird modulation effects that very few uses....

10Mb/min for 44.1kHz in stereo (for .wav file type)! It would not be to hard on the internal resources to extend the maximum a bit?

Yep! Pretty cool indeed. Love the Cartographer. Upgrade went smootly except for a couple of glitches. Streaming Audio stop working. Had to go in Globals and put the USB 1,2 to multi. and the 10 stomps stopped as well, had to flip flop to 8 and 10. Fuzz is more in line with my définition of a Fuzz. Happy!

I was (and still am) very surprised and happy with my TS210. Best $ I ever spent. The DXR would be more robust probably, specialy at Hi power/volume. I had to rescrew everything on my TS210 after 6 months because of small buzz, cured almost everything but a resonant frequency was very present everytime I would play C. Nasty rattle. It came from a corner of the grill. I took it of and squeezed a bit of grey foam, very little of it (the packing stuff). All is good now. I was considering a DXR10 but no more, really. If it does'nt last than I will jump to Yamaha but nothing is less sure.

I kinda a remember something like this in my old GT-10 ... Features come and go depending if its used, liked, requested, ...

It sounds like you're using the stomp mode to select your channel from idividual footswitch, Sounds a lot like my struggle with the JVM before the firmware prior to the snapshots. I find snapshotare more straightforward for MIDI channel switching.
-
From the MB web site they show that the two models are different in the way they implemented the footswitch. Different cable and connector.

You only use the MIDI out from the HELIX to the MIDI in of the MiniAmp Gizmo. You have 128 preset in the MiniAmp Gizmo that you can use. If I can remember, the MiniAmp Gizmo would receive a MIDI Program Change Command and pick the saved config and switch the Mark V accordingly. The saved config would include the selected Channel, the reverb state on/off and the boost (if you have that on the 35) state on/off. The config on the MiniAmp Giszo is easy to do. You press the appropriate buttons corresponding to features you want on the front, activate the write mode on the MiniAmpGizmo, send the MIDI PC by selecting the HELIX patch you want it associated. The MiniAmp Gismo will flash and thats it.
-
The only way would be a MiniAmp Gizmo with the special cable for the Mark V. That worked flawlessly for me when I had my M V.

From Yamaha Web site "...Portable, yet capable of producing an astonishing 131 dB SPL, the DXR10’s compact, functional design makes it ideal for a wide range of applications. Whether providing simple vocal/instrument amplification, very powerful floor monitoring or comprising a compact SR system—the DXR10 delivers without compromising sound quality and power...." 131 dB SPL -> that sounds like a lot !?

I own a Marshall JVM410h that collect dust now. Used to have a Mark V before that. I jumped in with the Helix 18 months ago and i have found what i was hoping after a year when i went the FRFR way with a single Alto TS210 (light weight). I also use Fremenn IRs for most every presets but that's an other thread.

No debate there. But I'm still disapointed that the Helix evolution is plague by delays coming from left and rigtht. Decisions are made and we have to live with them. But I find the focus to be somewhat lost. I have a great audio interface with the Helix. I can do whatever I want in a DAW. I don't need anything else really except for a librarian to backup the presets. Got some stability issues now and then, still. That is where its important to me. 18 month in and I have now some killer tones that are better than what I ever had so no complaints. As the HELIX matures we will be spoiled and that is what we know that lies in out future but can't seems to get any closer. ... Thanks DI for pitching in.

It's absolutely true that finding the right person with the skills you need is sometime next to impossible. I've done software development and it does'nt take much to run into snags and all but that is a different discussion. As for ressources I was using the term as "natural ressources" as a good thing not as a "number of bodies". What I meant also is you can prioritize directions and not have every dev subgroup waalk at the same pace. On one side I have the Helix hardware that is the "halo product" and on the other hand you have Native, which I presume run on Intel CPU. That is where I get a bit mixed up. Theoretically, can they be made to sound the same? Probably not.
-
What bugs me a bit is that the Helix is supposed to be the beast for a giging guitarist. Right? Now, I've seen an eternity go by for an editor to be ready (that I don't use). Seen an update for bass player. Now it's a Native plugin for studio that takes forever. Big plan tu redo everything so it evolves faster in the future. Please hire more ressources and pickup the pace and rethink what is important. It goes without saying what I think about ideascale. Just saying. I'm not upset at all.

That's what I did as well. Got a cheap volume pedal and that solved the problem. I don't think you can remove the assignement to switch EXP2/EXP1 to the toe switch. It looks to be hardcode so the only way is to plug in the extra pedal for the volume.
