Wanted to buy the new HD Models bundle but had to pay 24$ in taxes
geeker replied to Guitarmaniac64's topic in POD HD
hhhhmmmmmm. I bought the model packs from Line 6, paid 99 bucks and no taxes. I buy drum expansion packs from Toontrack, pay 89 bucks, pay their taxes and paid for the purchase from my bank.... go figure..... Toontrack doesnt have anything on their website about taxes...... am I upset? nah, it's just the way things are sometimes when you purchas something from another country...... -
I use a Tech 21 Power Engine powered guitar speaker amp...... its a little bit over your price range but well worth it in my opinion.. http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-TEC-PW60-LIST

It is worth the five hundred bucks for the 500x in my book, especially for recording. Don’t get me wrong; I still pull out my XT Live and X3 Live from time to time for recording but that is becoming less and less as I get used to using the HD 500x…..

$199 bucks is a little too steep for me. I have Line 6 POD farm 2.5 Platinum, Guitar Rig 4 and Peavey ReValver 3 mk II...... I don't think I need anything more.....

I've been a Line 6 user for many moons........ It all started out of necessity. I moved from one place where I was able to mic my Marshall combo amp for recording to another place where the neighbors would get upset with the slightest noise. I even went around asking them when it would be a good time so that I can record….. nope. Never was a good time. LOL.. So one day I was in a local music shop and there was this red bean thingy that a company called Line 6 made. Hhhhmmmmmmmm. Intresting. “Amp modeling for direct recordingâ€. I will have to try it out!!! I bought and was really happy with it to the point I wanted to use it live. Only problem is that I would need to have some kind of foot controller. Low and behold Line 6 had a foot controller for the red bean with TWO expression pedals!!! I bought that and I started using that combo for live performances. Then Line 6 came out with the XT Live!!!! I bought that with all the model packs. I still have it to this day. What? They weren’t done???? Then they come out with the X3 Live. I bought two of those since they did have issues and I needed one as a backup since I was playing anywhere from 50 to 80 shows a year back then. I still have both of those. Then I got the HD 400. Loved it!!!! So I had to get the 500x. I also own a Pocket POD, UX8 (love it!!!), Guitar Port, M13, Gearbox, POD Farm 2.5 platinum (2x) and a Variax 400. Line 6 makes it easier to get that tone that is stuck in my head out into the real world. These items make recording easier and make live playing much more enjoyable be it using my HD 500x with my Tech 21 power amp or my M13 with my Marshal JVM half stack…….. -
moot point on my end..... Line 6 does not have Workbench that works on my MacBook pro running Yosemite (10.10.2)...... the latest version says my computer does not have the required OS for it to install....

Variax 300 and Workbench with Mac OS X Yosemite
geeker replied to laticfanatic's topic in Variax Guitars / Bass / Workbench
I'm having the same issues with trying to use my Variax 400....... there's no Workbench software that will work with my MacBook Pro running OS X Yosemite .... kinda sucks.... maybe I'll try it with my windows system... -
Had one for years.... Used it with my X3 Live, HD 400 and still use it with my HD 500x....

I'm not that upset over it.... Just a bit disappointed. Not like it's going to render my HD 500x useless.... LOL

I'm a bit disappointed in Line 6 with the online manuals. They need to update it for the new 2.6 update and for the the new model packs......

I liked the update.....
