It does not... It saves the footswitch assignment, that’s it.

No, there’s not. There a limit of 64 controllers per preset, so assigning every parameter of every block in a preset would surpass that limit pretty quickly.

The warranty is transferable, but Line 6 is very clear about the discount. If the discount tied to that serial number has been used, the second owner isn’t eligible for it. I wouldn’t recommend depending on them to be generous, as I’ve seen this issue come up several times in the Helix Facebook group, and Line 6 seems to hold to that rule. I’ve seen a number of people disappointed after the fact because they bought a used unit thinking they could get a discount.

There’s a couple longish threads over on The Gear Page Digital and Modeling forum talking about reflection-free, far-field IRs, which are kind of getting at this same thing. I still don’t think those are going to be a panacea, as the playback system is still going to matter a lot. Perhaps they can make an FRFR monitor sound something more like a guitar cab, but I’m doubtful they’re going to successfully recreate the experience of playing through a particular guitar cab in a particular room at a particular distance away from the cabinet. But them shorter answer to the question is that modelers have always been about recreating close-miced guitar sounds. The main reason for that is that the vast majority of guitar sounds we hear in recording or even live are from close-miced guitar cab. Recreating the experience of playing through a particular cab is probably something that’s not necessary physically possible, just like watching a movie on an iPad is never going to be the same sort of experience as seeing the movie on an IMAX screen.

If he used the discount for Native already, then no, you can’t use it. If he didn’t use it, you would be eligible to use it.

No. The amp and cab blocks are mono (well, the Dual Cab block is stereo - it’s literally a separate cab for the left and right side). So in the example you gave, you’d have everything summed to mono, unless you’re using a Dual Cab block. A stereo effect in front of an amp block will always be summed to mono, though.

What do you mean by "correct" minor scale, exactly? There are a few different minor scale options for the harmonizers, so as long it's one of the standard options, there shouldn't be any difference. I think Boss multis have the option of having custom scales, so if that's what you're talking about, that's not an option on the POD Go.

What type of computer and what operating system are you using? I'm a little puzzled as to the "it downloads again" part, because I'm not sure how that would be possible. The file you download should be the installation package, and when you click on it, it should start the installation process.

It sounds like you're inadvertently activating the capacitive touch switches. Try going to Global Settings>Footswitches>Stomp Select and turning it to Off to see if that helps.
-
I'm really having trouble understanding what's being described in the first post. If you had a video, that would be helpful. One thing that does come to mind is that with the capacitive touch switches, sometimes the Bypass Assign screen will pop up if you inadvertently brush your hand across the top of the foot switches. Beyond that, though, I'm not really sure what else to say.

So the issue is that you have the True Preset Spillover functionality enabled... So you only ever see Path 1 (or Path 1A and 1B) when this is enabled. If you want to see Path 1(A&B) and 2(A&B) you need to disable this option. You can do that by going to Global Settings>Preferences>Preset Spillover and turning it Off or holding down the ACTION button while pressing the HOME button. That will give you all the paths back.

Yes, the None option is still there for Path 2. From your screenshot, it doesn't actually look like that's Path 2 based on the spacing of those lines. That looks like Path 2A and 2B. There is no None option for Path 2B. In order to feed Path 2A into 2B, you have to create 2B, the move the Split block to the end of the Path 2A. You'd have to mute the output block for 2A. Check out the "Super Serial" routing description from the manual: es, the None option is still there for Path 2. From your screenshot, it doesn't actually look like that's Path 2 based on the spacing of those lines. That looks like Path 1B (None isn't an option as an input for that). Do you have a block on that path further down the line?

"Most racist software" you've ever seen? Not sure I even want to ask...

What version of macOS are you using?

It's opening for me on Big Sur. Are you sure you downloaded the HD version and not regular Workbench? The original version won't work on Big Sur (or Catalina), as it's 32-bit.

Well, the Helix uses a specialized, purpose-built audio processors, not the same sort of processors and RAM found in laptops and such... (and I don’t really believe RAM prices have plummeted, fwiw... Seems about the same now as it was a few years ago). They aren’t going to announce a new product until it’s ready to be on the market. So you can either wait or buy something else in the meantime... It’s the same sort of the proposition with any technology-based item. Modeler development cycles just move much slower than standard consumer electronics, thankfully.

Snapshots recall the values of any parameters that are assigned to any controller, not just the snapshots controller. This is unrelated to the Snapshot Bypass parameter - that only affects the block’s bypass state. So, yeah, this is the expected behavior. The only exception to this is the EXP controllers, where you can choose whether they react to the actual position of the expression or not by selecting the Per Snapshot, Per Preset or Global setting in the Global Settings menu.

Are you using a stereo Gain block?
-
I’m actually not 100% sure what that means, but I’m certain it doesn’t mean you’re limited to only downloading the installation package one time. You can download that until the cows come home... It may be saying that the free download can’t be transferred as I mentioned above, or it might be saying that you don’t get two free licenses if you buy two Helixes.
-
Where is that showing up? The thing is you’ll have to re-download Native to install the updated versions in the future, so there’s really no way they’re actually talking about the actual download. Anyone with a Line 6 account can download Native through the site. It’s authorized after the fact when you sign into your account. I think they’re probably getting at the fact that the discount for the free Native license can only be used once. If you sell your Helix, the person who buys it doesn’t get a free version of Native.
-
Well, first off you aren’t limited to one download of Native. You can download it at as many times as you want. You can have it installed and authorized on up to four computers simultaneously, so there’s no issue with installing it on multiple machines. As far as Big Sur, Native currently runs on it, but there are some issues. On my M1 Mac Mini, it runs, but the UI is pretty laggy. Eventually, there will be a version that’s fully compatible with Big Sur. It should be pretty soon.

Native won't recall input levels. Am I missing something?
phil_m replied to PierM's topic in Helix Native
Oh, really? I missed that part. In Reaper they stay where they are when you save the project. -

The input and output fader positions aren’t saved as part of the Native preset. They’re saved as part of the plug-in settings for your DAW session. -
In Reaper, I don’t have to adjust the level of the dry track from USB7 at all in order to match levels. I was just experimenting with this this week because I was testing something. I recorded a wet track and a dry track simultaneously from my Helix Rack. I then fed that dry track into an instance of Helix Native and rendered the processed track down. The two tracks - the original wet track and the Native track were indistinguishable - they were at the exact same level. I also sent that dry track back into my Helix Floor over its USB3/4 input just for fun and recorded that wet track. All three were the same level... I wonder if the thing with the Stomp is due to the fact that it’s a stereo input, and the way that signal is handled at the converter.

It means you aren’t actually running HX Edit 3.01. You need to download and install it. It doesn’t update on its own.
