Do you have the effects loop on the 6100 set to series? a phasing sound usually means you have two dry paths running in parallel with one page shifted slightly from the other. So it sounds like might have the amp’s loop set to parallel.

If there are reverbs added, they won’t be models of existing reverb pedals. It’s not really possible to create a component-level model of a digital reverb the way it is with an analog effect.

Is it possible to run Helix Native using HX Stomp's DSP power?
phil_m replied to donaldan's topic in Helix Native
I think the gist of that paragraph is basically that Native let’s you take the same amount of equivalent DSP of the Stomp (in actuality, you can actually have much more than that) and apply it to every track at the same time. So instead of only having one Stomp to re-amp, you have the equivalent of a bunch of them. I can tell with 100% certainty that it isn’t talking about offloading CPU load from the DAW to the Stomp. In reality, that Stomp’s processing power is rather lightweight compared to even a modest computer nowadays... It wouldn’t gain you much. -
The green Line 6 adapter was originally made for the old 4-button pedals, so in addition to changing the plug size, it reverse the polarity. The Stomp, however, needs center negative polarity. So using that adapter with this power supply, you’re actually sending center positive power to the Stomp. You need to either find an adapter that doesn’t reverse the polarity, or you need to get a reverse polarity jumper to pit between the Godlyke and the L6 adapter.

Do you have the little switch on the back of the amp set to Mac/PC? -
mac os catalina Update Monkey to 64 bit

I don't know if that will happen or not. If it does, it will be because they make the Variax compatible with Line 6 Updater. Beyond that, I don't really expect any further updates to the current Variax lines at this point either. There really hasn't been one of any substance in quite a long time.- 50 replies

Is it possible to run Helix Native using HX Stomp's DSP power?
phil_m replied to donaldan's topic in Helix Native
That's not what that part of the manual is talking about. That's talking about hardware reamping. That's totally different than what the UA interfaces are doing. With hardware reamping, you're taking an audio signal from your DAW, sending it to the Stomp, and the Stomp is sending it back to the DAW. It's not tied to Native in any way. It's kind of a slow and clunky process, especially if you're dealing with multiple tracks. Are you having trouble with the CPU load in Native? I have projects where I have like a dozen instances of it, and I've never run into issues. I don't find it to be all that CPU intensive. -
When you connect to the Powercab using L6 Link, there really aren’t any global settings that affect it. It all comes down to the settings in the Output Block in the Helix preset.

That’s fine, although, you are going through a round of unnecessary A/D-D/A conversion that way. But I’m just about what happens when you engage the FX Loop R block. Are you sure the FX Loop L is toggling off?
-
Are you bypassing the FX Loop R block with a footswitch, via snapshot or just manually? Are you sure the FX Loop L block is being bypassed at the same time?
-
What are your connections like? You have a TRS to dual TS cable connected to Stomp’s Send? When you say it’s not working, what’s happening?
-
Unless they updated it, it most likely isn't. The version number shows up on the splash screen when you turn the unit on. You're most likely on 1.10. 1.12 was released like three weeks ago.
-
Did you do a firmware update after getting your unit?

Headphones are probably the least reliable way to monitor a source, as far as getting an actual flat response. Quality studio headphones have their place and give you a better idea of what’s happening, but I wouldn’t ever trust what I’m hearing from headphones to set up tones.

What is it you’re hoping to do with Monkey and the M5? There hasn’t been an M5 update in a long, long time. You don’t need Monkey to create backups for the M5. You do that via MIDI Sysex dumps.

The signal for the Amp Out is tapped off after amp block but before the cab/IR block. So if you want to have all of your effects sent to it, you would need to make the cab/IR block the last block in your chain. The main thing this means is that you won’t be able to take advantage of stereo effects, but if you aren’t sending a stereo signal to the FOH (which you probably shouldn’t do, most of the time), it’s not a big deal.

Have you tried connecting it to POD Go Edit or Line 6 Updater to see if you can update the firmware?
-
Yes, the Standard can be powered via the TRS power kit.

There are these shortcuts for assigning and unassigning parameters to the snapshot controller: - Snapshot Assign Shortcut: OPTION-click (Mac) or ALT-click (PC) any Home screen parameter to quickly assign its value to the Snapshots controller - Unassign Controller Shortcut: SHIFT-OPTION-click (Mac) or SHIFT-ALT-click (PC) any Home screen parameter to instantly remove any controller assignment

Well, the POD Go doesn’t have MIDI din jacks, so you’d need to have some way to get the MIDI from the POD Go’s USB output to the Powercab. If you had a USB MIDI host, like this: https://www.disasterareaamps.com/shop/micro-ghost, you could recall a Powercab preset along with every POD Go preset. The POD Go can send the PC associated with each preset when you recall that preset, but that’s about the extent of its MIDI control capabilities.

There's a big difference between component-level modeling and simply copying IP whole-hog...

Huh? It's still being made now... There was a brief production pause when they switched wood for the necks, but it's not really ever been out of production.

Yep... It's called re-amping. It's described on page 55 of the manual:
