anybody tried this with helix...? thanks
-
thanks man! that´s incredibly nice...my main problem are ground loops...it´s a pitty, helix doesn´t offer some kind of humbuster jacks...and also the switch option doesn´t work with my amps...my main goal is 4CM...but i´ll give them a try...thanks a lot!!! best, rudi

incl. bill and warranty...1250€ incl. shipping in europe

i´ll sell mine very soon and get back to fractal...just for your info...you asked for it...

do you wanna know how much mails i sent to line6 support...???? line6 is not handling this issue on a case by case basis, it´s simply not handling this case at all...all they do is saying "it may work, but with some amps it seems it doesn´t..."...thanks very much...when i bought the unit it said, it´s switching amp channels!!! and no - you´re wrong! there basically is one method that switches all the amps...every midi switcher can do it...and everybody knows it´s very simple...using relays...heard of it??? sorry for sarcasm, but i think you should see, how much people are pissed off...sorry! i´d love to see line6 trying to solve my problem, but until now, they´re doing nothing but ignoring us...and once again - they sold us the switching option!!!
-
yes...it´s a shame, what l6 is doing here...!!!!
-
i totally agree...helix started to become the state of the art multi-fx in floorboard design...i was really, really electrified, when i saw the first announcement...but now i´ve got to say, it ´s got incredible problems with switching (none of my four! amps are switchable without problems!), i´ve got ground loops in 4cm with any amp, noise level is too high (helix is not state of the art in these concerns, as the fractal fx8 is), and there are - as fastnloud stated - some really important fx missing or not as good as they should be...the harmonizer f.e. is not ok for an fx unit, that wants to be state of the art... so - really sorry to say that, cause i´ve had great expectations, i think fractal is doing a much better job here and i think i´m gonna move back again...;-( p.s.: the reason why i´m really disappointed is, because i think helix also has got some fx that definitely do sound better than some fractal fx....as the univibe f.e....

1. after installing fw1.10, the helix updater says to restart holding fs #4+5 to restore global presets or sthg like that... when i try this (pressing those two switches a little longer), it opens an UI (and some other) Test-options...it doesn´t restore anything... when i don´t press them so long, it doesn´t do anything than powering up... 2. when i first got this UI Test page, i didn´t know what to do, so i pressed a knob, which opened this test page and after pressing once again, it changed the colour and text of some of the lines...i then shut the unit down...is it possible, i did something bad...? ;-) 3. will importing an older bundle overwrite the new factory presets as well...? thanks!

hi and thanks a lot! tried that with the nt50 and power cycling really recalibrated it...so i guess that´s a bug...is line6 aware of it or should i write it to the bugs-thread..?
-
thanks...i´ll try power cycling...by the way - the problem is about the onboard expression pedal...
-
i can tell you, using an external midiswitch got me rid of the ground loop, ok? and the expression sweep problem is gone as well...fact. ps.: you are right - i don´t have enough technical background, but a friend of mine does, as well as a2dconverterguy, who´s been so nice to send me some messages...i don´t know if that´s enough explanation and confirmation for you... pps.: ...and you can always send me a dollar...
-
i´m no tech....but a2dconverterguy seems to be one...see here...http://line6.com/support/topic/16178-helix-4cm-amp-switch-mesa-v25-and-mesa-mini-rect-not-working/page-2?do=findComment&comment=135363 he told me and he was right...
-
i´m no tech...fact is - if you implant two relays like this (as a2dconverterguy found out and posted here)... http://line6.com/support/topic/16178-helix-4cm-amp-switch-mesa-v25-and-mesa-mini-rect-not-working/page-2?do=findComment&comment=135363 ...then all three problems are gone: 1. it switches, 2. the immense ground loop, i´m talking about, is gone, and 3. the problem with the expression pedals´ worth drop is gone as well, so i though guess these problems do cohere... ...for extra costs of about 1$...;-(
-
that´ll work for sure...but that´s not why we bought helix, right....?

here´s a little list of amps, that helix will not switch correctly...if you know some more, please pm me and i´ll update this list... mesa boogie dc-5 (user: rudomat; doesn´t switch at all) vox nt50 (user: rudomat; switches, but as soon as you connect, the expr. pedals´ worth drops from 100% to 97%...) orange dual terror (user: rudomat; switches, but leads to ground loop at unusable volume...) hughes&kettner tube20 (user: rudomat; doesn´t switch at all) friedman smallbox (user: ultraknilch; switches, but as soon as you connect, the expr. pedals´ worth drops from 100% to 97%...) friedman jj100 (user: JC-Tonequest; switches, but as soon as you connect, the expr...his helix got tuned to work from line6 support!!!) mesa boogie v:25 (user: GadgetGuitar; doesn´t switch correctly...) mesa boogie mini rectifier (user: GadgetGuitar; doesn´t switch correctly...) marshall silver jubilee 2555x (user: oliverspark: doesn´t switch…) marshall yjm100 (user: oliverspark: doesn´t switch...) marshall afd100 (user: Turnerbrown; doesn´t switch correctly) ibanez tsa15h (user: Inerzia; doesn´t switch correctly) note: it seems that some major ground loop problems are also caused by helix´s bad switch function...as soon as you´d do the switching via relays (as any professional gear does!), the ground loop is gone....!
-
here are some amps, we know that don´t work correctly: mesa boogie dc-5 (user: rudomat; doesn´t switch at all) vox nt50 (user: rudomat; switches, but as soon as you connect, the expr. pedals´ worth drops from 100% to 97%...) orange dual terror (user: rudomat; switches, but leads to ground loop at unusable volume...) hughes&kettner tube20 (user: rudomat; doesn´t switch at all) friedman smallbox (user: ultraknilch; switches, but as soon as you connect, the expr. pedals´ worth drops from 100% to 97%...) friedman jj100 (user: JC-Tonequest; switches, but as soon as you connect, the expr. pedals´ worth...his helix got tuned to work from line6 support!!!) mesa boogie v:25 (user: GadgetGuitar; doesn´t switch correctly...) mesa boogie mini rectifier (user: GadgetGuitar; doesn´t switch correctly...)

no...it´s not weird...helix´s channel switch function simply does not work with many amps...i´ve got four amps at home right now, and it doesn´t really work with only one of them!!! and because i´m really, really angry about that, i´ll now start a thread, where we could collect all not-switching or not correct switching amps...i think it´s gonna be a very long list, cause i can´t imagine that it´s only been bad luck, that all of my four amps are not working correctly...;-(

in the free redwirez ir-pack...? i can only find 24 bit folders there...??
-
i know helix needs 16 bit, 48kHz mono ir´s... i have some redwirez with 24 bit here...will helix app automatically convert them...? will it also convert higher or lower kHz´s to as needed...? thanks!
-
that worked...!! thanks a lot man!

Helix 4CM Amp Switch Mesa V:25 and Mesa Mini-Rect Not Working
rudomat replied to GadgetGuitar's topic in Helix
hi joe, may i ask you - would these relays also fit inside the helix...? my goal actually has been not to carry more than this only unit with me... actually i´d say line6 should offer this kind of "relay"-mod for free...we bought a product that claims to be able to switch our amps...;-( i heard some tech say, this kind of switching, line6 offers here, isn´t even good for our amps in the long term... it seems, when they startet to realize these problems, they even offered that kind of support, as our friend JC-Tonequest here told us...they got his helix and tuned it to work for free...but when they saw, how many of us have got these problems, they seemed to cancel their support-course and now simply say "this can work, but not said it will..." that´s pretty disappointing line6! and i still hope, there´s gonna be some help, even if it doesn´t really look like it... best, rudi -
i always tried importing only one at a time...didn´t know actually, you could import more at once...;-)
-
yes...probably mine...;-)...no - my ir´s don´t have too long names anymore...and i tried at least 10 different ones...
