  1. This might help... an interview with Ty Tabor with Premier Guitar, it's from Jan 25, 2011. a list of all his gear, plus... http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/Interview_Ty_Tabor_Kings_X?page=1 maybe some help?
  2. I bought a JTV-59 gold top w/ p90s from Sweetwater and the DVI jack was bad (intermittent connection). Sent it back to Sweetwater and their techs fixed it after they got the part from Line6. So, I think their tech department is an authorized service center.
  3. Kind of Frame by Frame(ish) sorry - - a quick OT reply
  4. I just changed my tuners out last week - waited for warranty to wear off. I put some Stew Mac Guitar Grease on the nut - maybe just new strings for my tuning problem. Time will tell if I would withdraw my agreement above about tuning stability. I seem to be drawn to play my 69 more than the 59, so I'll probably find like you that the tuning becomes more stable.
  5. I had bought the Grover 406Cs for my 59 from tips found on another older thread about the same topic. But then I saw stevekc's advice and link to the Sperzel Style Locking tuners 3x3 chrome drop ins in that thread. I like them on my 69 and also didn't care for the fact that the Grovers were mini and didn't have the twist locking cap on the back and preferred to have larger buttons. Installation was a snap and as stated by Rocco "They really won't help to keep my guitar in tune but changing strings is a lot easier." Thumbs up for these IMHO -http://www.guitarfet...ome_p_1172.html. just my 2¢
  6. Yeah, toe down at normal pitch and heel down for the dive-bomb. I found that out because that's the way your patch was made and it is more accurate with the EX-1, just felt for some unknown preference like I wanted to step down to drop the pitch. It will work and maybe I'll get better action out of the pedal buy not having it on carpet and sitting while using it or I could get with the program and finally spring for a Mission pedal. Thanks duncann.
  7. Thanks guys, I'll try this out later today. EDIT: Thanks Alex and duncann. The directions from Alex and the patch from duncann both work the way I was trying to get them to yesterday. I have found that the duncann's tone with normal pitch at heel down gives me a little trouble being in true to pitch all the time but toe down stays true, probably because I'm using a Line 6 EX-1 (have had 2 since my XTL - never wanted to spend the cash on a good pedal like the Mission pedal for Line 6) I think the EX-1 has trouble getting back to pedal heel down because it's a cheapo pedal, 1/2 way good for volume only...because I can't calibrate it and the way it's made allow for discrepancy - I guess the only way around that is to switch to the on board pedal for the whammy - at least it's possible to calibrate. Thanks again you two. I'll mark as answered but you both deserve credit for the correct answer - wish I could split it between the both of you.
  8. I'm embarrassed to say that after owning my Pod HD500 for as long as they have been released I need help creating a tone using the Pitch Glide as a Whammy just for a single note dive bomb. Don't have a real Whammy and haven't really played much with any of the presets or DLs from Customtone. I'm using Edit on a PC with Win7, all up to current FW and factory reset and pedal calibration all done at last update. Did as much searching as I could and didn't find an answer. I have a second pedal and was trying to set up using that as a controller. I just want to keep Pedal UP as regular tuning pitch and Pedal Toe Down as the dive pitch (strings stuck on magnet sound). Want to use Pedal 2 as controller. I think I know how to set up the pitch glide to have Vol2 control, think it needs to be turned off to not act as a volume pedal as it shifts pitch even though Vol1 is set to control volume (when I set up with Vol2 active it shifted pitch and worked the volume - so, I turned the pedal off to not act as a vol pedal) and have the PG at the front of the chain. I guess I need help setting the Min/Max values for the shift to go to the sound as I described above. I believe that not using a pedal and changing pitch on the effects page in Edit just gives the detuned sound. Any verbal explanation, and or screen shots from Edit, uploaded patches or links to Customtone tones as described above will be helpful. Thanks in advance, Mark

    Helix Demo Videos

Here's one way to find the Sweetwater videos - In Sync http://www.sweetwater.com/insync/
  10. Yeah, try him again. He responded fast and followed up with the order and stayed right on top of the order even after it arrived. Quality all the way!
  11. Have you tried this guy; Dunkin_Dal - he makes the braided cables - always adds new colors - makes any length - superior neutrik connector http://line6.com/support/topic/958-more-more-added-new-colors-cool-vdi-cable/?hl=new+colors I PMed him and he answered (maybe that's who you tried before - he must have missed the message if you did try contacting him) . Got a 15 footer, think it was $35US. I have a Line 6 cable from when I bought a Variax 300 a decade or so ago and it works and feels great still but the replacement/backup I bought years later from Line 6 sucks.
  12. Whatever the most current latest and greatest version is - I can't get to the machine right now to view the LCD or boot up Monkey.

    FX Setlist

That's why we are here for the most part - to get and give H-E-L-P. You are welcome. Thanks for your many contributions.
  14. I have one of each. Had the 69 since they were available and got a 59 about a year ago. IMHO I believe I here a "slight" difference in the modeled tones - probably design; wood, shape, density, neck, hardware, etc. Maybe because I have had the 69 longer it sounds more "right" (i.e. like the strat sounds more stratlike to me on the 69 but I haven't tried A/Bing in my DAW). I guess it stands to reason that 2 different guitar designs and composites would create a "slight nuance" in sound. Most 59ers see no discrepancy in any model other than the whole HD Strat sound debate which runs across all 3 JTV versions for some owner's ears. Neither is better per se. I was looking for the usual difference in feeling of having 2 different guitars to play. My 2¢.

    FX Setlist

Here's the FX Heavy setlist from v. 2.62 for the HD500
  16. Thanks for your reply Glenn. This makes sense. I did think you would have to compensate for the room or gear you are running into. Now it's clear to me. BTW - never thought I'd buy anyone's patches - seen them for sale for years (since my XTL days) but never thought I'd do anything but grab Customtone tones but you and your pro patches are a different story. Haven't had a lot of fun with them yet, just had time to set up Vintage and Metal set lists and dink around while loading and saving.
  17. Hi Glenn, Just bought your Vintage and Metal bundles. Dig 'em! I have a question though. In the READ ME you included you list your Global EQ settings. Is this how you run those patches with the G.EQ on? Do you use these settings to shape your sound for FOH, DAW, phones, and power amps as opposed to "compensating for the wide disparity in acoustic environments on tour or when traveling from studio to studio" as written in Line6Tony's Firmware v2.62 for the POD HD family of products...blurb on what's new with v.2.62? I would doubt that you use these settings for the environment/FM Curve of every place you play. When I updated and did the reset the Global EQ was defaulted to ON and noticed a difference in the sound but globally turned it off assuming it was for room compensation. What can you tell me from your point of view? Thanks, Mark
  18. I was able to get the last one Sweetwater had here in the US; it was a Dent and Scratch and nabbed it for $899(US) and it had to be sent back to them to get the VDI jack replaced (intermittent connection with the HD500) - that's when I found out they had no more, could get no more anywhere here and couldn't just exchange mine with another one from Sweetwater or any other retailer here in the states (hate to have to immediately send a new axe in for repair but since it was the only one I could get my hands on...). I realize that is fairly irrelevant to you where you live but...nice option to playing my black 69 I purchased when the JTVs were first released for sale.
  19. Yes I did a global update with the pedal calibration after updating and yes I have rebooted all devices. Just curios if this happens to anyone else. So far it does nothing else different or wrong and seems to not be any actual problem, just different behavior than last version of Edit. Thanks for the responses and suggestions.
  20. Has anyone else noticed a, (not really a bug but something is different) with HD500 Edit since the update? When I open Edit, I always get the Son of Plexi patch sounding no matter what the 500 was left on when Edit was shut down. If I'm on any set list, any patch loaded gets over ridden with Son of Plexi while Edit loads and after it hits 100% it reverts to the patch loaded. I never had this happen before on any version of Edit - pre and post HD or JTV. Before - as Edit loaded I would hear a "New Tone" sound and after Edit finished loading I would hear the patch currently loaded. I thought maybe my install of Edit was corrupt but I removed it and reinstalled it but get the same thing. I'm using a Windows7 PC and the HD 500(not X). I don't consider this a problem per se, but unusual behavior from previous versions and I am just wondering if anyone has experienced this. Anyone else get this?
  21. I took the bottom back cover off my 69 when I first got it because I heard something rattling around inside. I opened and found a loose bolt. I photoed it and sent pics to Rich when he was in charge and he said it belonged nowhere in the guitar, apparently a box of screws dumped on the work bench during assembly.
  22. I agree with you C2 is nice - just wish I knew more how to play in alt tunings after all my years of playing (8 yrs old to 61). I was thinking of saving the set list and retuning the guitars to standard for my use and then some tweaking - "at the good starting point" - as you say. Nice stuff but wonder why the volume is so low on these tones, not that we can't fix that.
  23. Yeah, who knows what was intended by Line 6 with those patches...but as I remarked earlier in another thread about the Variax set list, IMHO the Variax set list tones are some of the most usable and sensible factory presets in the unit, just a little low on the volume and with a few oddities that I have found. It's all still a GOOD THING that Line 6 gave us the update and made some more optional amps available to us. I was mostly just thinking I had found some more things to report that Line 6 should be aware of as so called problems with the update if others experienced the same issues.
  24. Been messing with the Variax set list and I wonder if there's some bugs or corrupted patches in some of the presets. Here's some potential problems I've found on my JTV69, JTV59 and HD500 and VDI - (I doubt it's just my equipment) with the Variax set list. Here are some idiosyncrasies I have found - all created by Line 6: 1C Sitar - can't get any mag sound - 3C Banjo - same... - no mags audio 11C Guild 12 String... - no mag audio minor problems: 11A Du Hast... no JTV (shows old gen vax image) saved under VDI Input on HD500 Edit Mixer Page 15C Acoustic 5th - NO JTV model saved under Model spot on Mixer Page I try to mute the channel that has the modeling and get zero audio out of the mag side of the patches I mentioned above that are dual with mags and modeled. Anybody else find these patches not working correctly or know of a solution? No big deal - but just trying to determine if the new FW update screwed up or the patches are corrupt. can anyone else confirm same problems?
