  1. Dude, I have to thank you for sharing this setup. I was trying to do this the past days, and this comment was really helpful. Incredible integration between Helix and the Suhr Reactive load, I can use my amp's pre with its cab or helix cabs/irs, or both together, same with helix pre's, this setup rules everything! Helix+SRL = total control
  2. This info is great, Thanks a lot, now the Helix sound just right, It was sounding aweful I was about to sell it! Thanks!
  3. Thanks for your help! I control it currently with din, great to know that a regular usb can do the trick with a laptop! THanks!!!
  4. Hi, One question, In my computer with helix selected as my midi/audio interface, what if I connect a USB controller like a novation launch pad, can I control parameter on helix? I have done this via regular midi straight from the controller to helix and works perfect. All new controllers that comes with lots of knobs (which are cooler) are USB only, they are not including the regular MIDI, those with regular USB/MIDI ports are expensive compared to all new lines of USB controllers. Can I control my helix with a USB controller connect through my computer with helix as my interface? Unfortunately my USB controller is damaged, so I cannot run the test, and I need to get a new controller with more knobs... Hope anyone can help, Cheers!

  6. Firmware: 2.21 OS: Mac OSX 10.11.6 Global Settings: Bug: INSTANCE COMMAND WHEN SAVING PRESET FORGETS EXT AMP SETTINGS. I have already went through the support center, also put this into IDEASCALE, I THINK I WAS MISSING PLKACE THIS PETITION HERE. I ALSO PUT THIS IN THE GEAR PAGE, AND MANY USERS AGREED IT WAS A BUG. IDEASCALE: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/P...nd-bug-when-SAVE-add-LOCK-option/895129-23508 USERS who are having same issues or think this is a bug: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24125168/ https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24125109/ https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24128912/ https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24129806/ https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24129813/ https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24129988/ Petition to fix instance command bug when SAVE / add LOCK option Idea Actions Instance, they works well and change well between 3 channels of the EXT AMP until you SAVE THE PRESET, at that moment you lose always one channel (instance state). It just records 2 states. I know, 3 channel switching can be accomplish via footswitch assignment in command center, but the huge problem with that method, is that we lose 2 preset Footswitchs slots in edit mode, which are valuable for effects placement. Other thing that is a problem with that, is that if you are in snapshot mode, and then you go to edit mode to add something, there, you have both EXT AMP assignment footswitches (which are the amp commands), and if you press by mistake one of those EXT AMP, you ruin the configuration of your amp switching Snapshot footswitches. So i think it would be awesome to have the ability to lock some preset that you don´t want to deal with in edit mode. HERE is better explained: Create Instance command for footswitchs You are in snapshot mode, and you want to set up 3 channel amp switching via instance command: 1st: You go to a snapshot 1, and set instance Tip+Ring. (CLEAN CHANNEL - green in my amp, Mesa Electra Dyne) 2nd: You go to a snapshot 2, and set instance Tip (LOW GAIN CHANNEL- blue in my amp, Mesa Electra Dyne) 3erd: You go to a snapshot 1, and set instance Ring (HI GAIN CHANNEL- red in my amp, Mesa Electra Dyne) After that setup, you go through the different snapshots, press the 3 different footswitches, and they work well, you can do amp switching between the 3 channels of the amp, without problem, until... 2-You go ahead and press SAVE, as the result of saving, one of the 3 instances disappeared. It just record Tip, and Ring. It does not record Tip+Ring. (So you cannot do 3 channels amp switch via Instances command, because it always when saving forget a 3rd. instance.) You just can't switch between 3 channels via footswitch assignment, which is not cool, because you lose 2 effects slots using amp switching in that way, (when you are in effects mode).
  7. If you want to use the mic pre for a vocal chain, and get benefit of the 4 external loops to place extra pedals and expand your rig and not get limited to just the Helix, the full version is for you. You can get a used full helix or open box and save 300 or so. Good luck!
  8. Hi all, Does Helix can do OctySynth and Synth String from M-Line... I was trying with the filters but could not get something similar. Does any body tried to setup these effects into helix?
  9. Never mind, I figure it out, by adding both delays to the momentary switch also. Then: Added a feedback parameter for each delay (This tell the feedback to shut its mouth!) : DLY 1 parameter of the momentary position 1 (feedback parameter 100-70), momentary position 2 (feedback parameter 70-100). DLY 2 parameter of the momentary position 1 (feedback parameter 100-70), momentary position 2 (feedback parameter 70-100). AWESOME!

  11. Hi Guys, I was trying to do a momentary A/B, I have used split A/B/, assigned the split to to my momentary switch, also added both output level parameters from 100-0 and 0-100. The A/B works well, but the problem: I am using for A : delay with one time (100% feedback and 100%MIX) I am using for B, the same delay with other time (100% feedback and 100%MIX). When switching A to B, the delay I played before does not reset to cero (because is playing the 100% feedback) it continue playing from the past A/B pressed...keep repeating hidden) I was trying to setup a effect similar to Bloc Party "Octopus", but something is missing... delays and level are added one time and after, and so on, when switching, all my pre-switched delays keep repeating after pressing the switch like hidden... Can a Delay be reset to cero after switching??? Here is a link to a video which explains the effect with a Line switcher and 2 delay pedals. Hope you can help mke figure this out... Here is the setup with different pedals:
  12. Hi Guys, I have read this post, and I think is the best place to ask this: I was trying to do a momentary A/B, also added both output level parameters frmo 100-0 and 0-100. So it A/B well, but the problem: I am using for A a delay with one time (100%feedback and 100%MIX) and for B, the same delay with a different time (100%feedback and 100%MIX). And when switching A to B, the delay I played before does not reset to cero (because is playing the 100% feedback). It is continue playing from the past A/B pressed...keep repeating hidden) I was trying to set effects like Bloc Party "Octopus", but something is missing... it adds all my pre-switched delays...they keep repeating after pressing the switch hidden... Here is a link to a video which explains the effect with a Line switcher and 2 delay pedals. Hope you can help mke figure this out... HEre is the setup with different pedals: https://youtu.be/JBKHzDEsChs?t=81
  13. Do you have the AMP SWITCHING TRS CONNECTED TO EXP OUT connected? If yes, ON THE TRS CABLE cut the connection of the sleeve (Ground) that goes into the Helix end of the cable. That fix my annoying buzz/noise.
  14. Hi, I have a question, Is it worth keeping my Decimator? or the Noise Gates in Helix are just right? Thanks
  15. Hi, I have 3 footswitches assign via command center for amp switching. Is there a way they can be locked, so when in edit mode, they are locked... so there is no accidental edit possibility? Thanks
  16. I think I will use zip ties with my pedal train pro, quick, keep the Helix as it is. For me is a good idea to not keep the Helix locked to a Board.
  17. I just cut the sleeve cable connection soldered in my TRS cable (ground) jjust at the helix end. Manual Ground lift. The loud buzz disappeared.
  18. What method are you using to switch channels? in command center? via Instance or assigning a footswitch. I found out that using Instance have problems, I am controlling right now a 3 channel amp with 3 footswitch assinged in command center, then I recall this footswichs in snapshot mode. The trick is that "by default" Helix and the amp has a communication channel assigned, which is Tip+RIng, in my case is the green channel. 1-So I created 3 Footswitches in command center for each tip, ring and tip+ring. 2- In snapshot mode: 1st snapshot for the clean (green which is Tip+ring) has to be set without any action, empty, No footswitch assigned. and it will recognize my green channel. The 2nd snapshot is the Ring (red). The 3er is the tip (blue). PRONTO! My amp is a Mesa Electra Dyne via TRS with 3 modes, green, Blue and red, it works great with this setup.
  19. HI I have a similar issue with the command center and EXT AMP. is not saving my 1+2 (tip+RIng), hope you can help me. After several hours testing the amp switching, I have found this issue with my Mesa Electra Dyne. When I assign my amp channels in snapshot mode to a new preset, lets say: footswitch 1(green ch), fooswitch 2 (blue 2) and footswitch 3 (red ch) in command center, and press SAVE. It works. SWITCH 3 CHANNELS When I add a effects loops block to my preset, and press SAVE. It continue working. SWITCH 3 CHANNELS When I add any effect block, and press SAVE. The green channel is gone, and replaced with the red channel, so STOPS WORKING 3 CHANNELS. So TIP and RING are not working any more when adding block. Looks like the TRS 3 options: Tip, Ring, Tip+Ring cannot be handled when used with effects blocks... I only works with the Effects loop block... Any ideas on this...I haven't tried it with old firmwares, I just got this device and installed the new updgrade... Hope you have an idea or somebody tell me what am I doing wrong...

  21. I have cut the ground connection of the TRS cable that goes from the amp FT SW to the Helix EXT AMP. The hum and terrible noise disappeared!

  23. Hi, I have problems with amp switching... The green channel is gone, and replaced with the red channel, so STOPS WORKING 3 CHANNELS. So TIP + RING are not working any more... CAn yuou tell what is going on? Any solution to this? I am with the latest upgrade.
  24. Well, it is just the ground, the tip and ring cables are still connected, the amp switching just uses tip, ring or tip+ring. In my case: tip+ring (clean=green ch), Tip(hi gain=red ch) and Ring (Vintage=blue ch) It is just a ground lift technique: I found a video of this:
  25. In the case of my amp (Mesa Electra Dyne), yes, silent and perfect switching, tip, ring and tip+ring, 3 channels green, blue and red. (The ground sleeve does not change anything, just added this awful ground loop noise). It worked!
