I tend to agree just looking at this. More foam better fit I say! And once again no one listens to me... :P

And if mother had wheels she'd be a wagon.... ;) Icing and the cake too? Im sure that they are doing what their time frame allows. They like to eat too, so the more Helix sells the better the bonus for Line-6, which filters down to the programmers and designers at some point. In other words, give them the time, let them program, and more good things will come... :D

Heres the thing Im trying to get across to folks. If you just "tried" the Firehawk 1500's L/R monitor in jacks with Helix Im betting you would look no further for a dedicated amp (+backup). The Firehawk 1500 holds it own in stand alone, but using the Helix with it is pure tonal bliss to me. BTW thanks for the kind words too!

You sure read into a lot just because Id like to try different things with my Helix. At first I wondered what I did to deserve such a silly asinine remark, but then I decided It probably wasn't meant like that. ;) So In a word NO, the honeymoon isn't over, and the Firehawk 1500 is "the" amp to use with Helix as far as Im concerned. It just sounds KILLER! Im also not so sure that Line 6 dropped support for the DT series (25 anyway) just because they "may" have quit making them, but Line 6 would be the ones to say. Lots of folks are still buying the DT-25 so Id be surprised if that model is going away anytime soon. And last time I checked it was ok in the states to own "2" amps or more without a honeymoon lawsuit...

Ive been wanting to jump into a DT25 or 50 using it with Helix, but am hesitant. All this is very interesting and thanks for the hard work making things work together guys. I wonder (Im sure they do but still) if Line 6 actually knows once they perfect the DT series amps (software etc) to work with Helix (for lack of a better word) better , they would then sell the DT amps like they did when 1st released? Just saying... ;)

You can usually find something that works if you look hard enough. But using something that works well and is designed for and is matched with its other pieces is usually the better option. Too bad they all don't follow a standard like midi so that everyone of the boxes would work the same with any piece, but then again what would be the fun in that? :P ;)

This may be old news to some so sry if thats the case. FYI I can't save stomp box settings (yet) by right clicking them and saving them to a name i like, but what I can do is save the settings on a stomp I have tweaked and like (on an existing patch) (wah distortion etc), and then copy that stomp and paste it to a "new preset" slot. Then just save this as your stomp template using any "template name" you like. You can then export this "stomp template" and save it for use later. Simple stuff but it seems to work... :D

LOL won't they be surprised!

Best to just google the variax and read- lots of info on it in various places including Line-6 site.

My thought is that since I already use my iPad for my Firehawk 1500 I wouldn't mine having the same thing for Helix, as long as I was not restricted to "just" the iPad like I am with the Firehawk 1500 editor. In other words, Id like um both for both my desktop AND the iPad...

I don't know much art the G2, but I just love my tone thru the FH1500 using Helix LR outs into the Monitor inputs on the FH1500 ! And yes, I pulled up the G2 page and they show a price of 1499 to $1599. The FH1500 is $400 cheaper on avg.

personally I would look at the Firehawk 1500 if you can swing it. It just makes Helix sound even better, if thats possible.

That happens to me a lot too. But then Im a senior I guess thats ok

I grabbed the Artist Patches (18 patches) IIRC and if nothing else, they are a good starting point (if not a finished product), but as always It's gonna always be adjust and suite to taste ear wise for anyones patch. The thing is these ideas that Glenn shows is a stepping stone for further ideas, and Ive found that with just a few adjustments I have a working patch I can use to record with using Glenns efforts. To me $55.00 is a good price for all that effort, but as always YMMV. Hope this helps! :)

Is anyone making third party downloadable amplifier models ?
spikey replied to electricfactory's topic in Helix
OTOH Logic X was the cheaper of the DAW's by a mile and is just as powerful. You wouldn't unless you were looking for a specific amp/tone- and in this case the numbers then come in handy. -
Now this would be major FUN for me!!!! :D
-
This was a weird process naming thing to me as well at first. But once you get your head around it it.... 2 pieces of major software involved. The firmware and the application software. The application software includes the editor installation software. The firmware (update) is Helix's own operation system. There, I think I have this right, and hope it helps.

Yep last time I looked on Rig Manager (Kemper Amp online database), there were over 6 thousand available. Now not all are good, and some arn't worth a poot, but some others are excellent! -
Well if its fairly obvious not to wet Helix down why even ask? The answer is also obvious, keep it dry... There. Im obviously correct... :P
-
New firmware will happen but who knows when. Thanks to DI we know more! +1

Most electronics hate water. Most water is conductive and current then flows where it should not. Helix not a submarine, so I would not chance fate and wet it down if at all possible ....
-
Moving on is what companies do, to survive. We all (should have) bought Helix for what it is, not what it will be someday. Yes updates and add ons are always welcome for Helix, but don't hold your breath about them sticking with Helix forever, or even by this time next year. There are NO promises. Helix will be abandoned (like the Vetta II was) at some point, as there will always be something else on the drawing board to take the place of the current Flagship.

Using the editor might fix this issue... Sometimes tweeking at practice or stage prevents this but by all means use the editor whenever u can I say. :D
-
Just buy both the damn things and call it a day... That said, I always find myself going back to 4 or 5 amps total every time I do a song or record one. Yes sometimes different fx but usually on the same amp/cab setup. Options like more amps are always great to have so don't take this the wrong way, but I won't notice them if I'm enjoying what I'm hearing so much I'm not switching over to them. The Reality for me is I guess I don't need much more. So, "if it sounds good spank the plank more and tweak less". As always YMMV.
