  1. Yes, but I think this issue deserves reiteration.
  2. Bravo! C’est Vrai!!The way my Polytune handles its tuning duties with speed and stability is a joy to behold. I would suspect that the Unitune would offer the same performance.
  3. I think the bottom line here is that you basically have to try to find a tuner that’s worse than the Helix’s tuner. Even the $12.91 (w/Amazon Prime 2-day shipping) Snark SN-8 is more stable. Oh well, at least I have my Polytune Clip.
  4. Dang it! I hope you're wrong too. ;)
  5. Oh yeah. It’s known. I don’t think it’s a matter of inaccuracy so much as over sensitivity. It’s like the Helix tuner has a severe case odd attention deficit disorder and is very easily distracted by the accompanying harmonics that a guitar produces. It helps, to some degree, to only use the neck pickup and to turn the tone know all the way down when tuning. I put partial blame on us users when we complained that the tuner was too coarse and thus inaccurate. Line 6 added more granularity to the tuner but did nothing about its over sensitivity to harmonics.
  6. I wish we had a clip that shows the effective difference in having these frequency limitations in the new firmware compared to the old.
  7. What does it mean when your idea submission is "In Review"?
  8. Firstly, and I’m not saying this in a patronizing manner at all, breathe. You’ll get it figured out. If you plan on using your Marshall 412 Cab, forget about IRs. The cab itself will take care of that. The setup you’ve described should work perfectly well. However, if the power amp is stereo, read the manual and see if it can be set to mono bridged mode as that cab is mono even if it happens to have two input jacks. You do not want to simply plug a stereo power amp’s outputs into a mono cab. That said, you may also want to experiment with plugging the Helix into a powered speaker as this, imho, is the best way to use the Helix‘s full potential.
  9. It ain’t much but I still have my trusty old Fender Mustang Floor.
  10. +1 on the Sweep Curves. I don't do any volume swells on my Helix at all because the logarithmic curve just feels wrong and difficult to control.
  11. Well, we are having some serious power outages on the islands due to winds. Not gonna be updating anytime soon. :(
  12. Can you “slam the tape with signal†but have minimal delay or echo? What I’m hoping for here is tape saturation.
  13. Ok, thanks guys. I’ll have to just fight off the desire to experiment too much as that’s what I tend to do when there are new amps and effects. I don’t have time for that rabbit hole right now. But I want the new toys available when time frees up. Seriously though, the sound of the old patches aren’t adversely affected by the update?
  14. Anyone out there updated from 2.11 or older to 2.3? Any hitches in that git-along?

    EP boost

True, thats how it was described and marketed. But the reality is that it does add air and a bit of girth to the sound. Nothing mystical there.

Sounds like the real thing is very similar to my MXR MicroAmp. It does the things you’re all describing here.
  17. Thank you for articulating this point in a much better manner than I did.
  18. Indeed! Having the mics, their placement, Low and High cuts changing is to me, the most infuriating part about tweaking the Helix!!! I really hate this characteristic of it. It's like having someone dictate to you how you should set your parameters. As if they know better than you about what you want! UGH! Phooey! You know, now that you mention it, this is probably THE main reason why I'm hesitant to update to 2.30. If I update, I'll want to experiment but having to constantly reset everything just to change out a cab takes all the fun out of it. It really does. I was almost going to bite the bullet and do the update as some of you made some convincing arguments to do so but this... ugh...
  19. Oh yeah... I upvoted that ages ago! lol
  20. I really do hope it’s possible for us to get independent preamps and power amps. Or at least a way to design our own amps and to have a virtual loop between the pre and power amp.
  21. I think you mean, “fill the rest with stomps†but yes, this would be a great addition! Have you put it in Ideascale?
  22. Well if this is true it might be the very thing that tips me over to do the upgrade. I’d love to be able to back off of some of the high cuts needed... but I still hate to tweak these days.
