  1. Ok, I'm also part of the suggestion board for line six issues...

I posted that there needs to be a even volume for all Amp presets....

And there have been several comments about this...

Creating patches for live playing and keeping an even volume to start with on all amps makes playing live a pain in the rear if you're switching banks...

Especially if you have to use a graphic eq or a compressor to boost your volume on lower sounding amps

And fixes for live players, as this is supposed to be used for

Can you use the mixer to boost or cut the amps appropriately? I never really tried this with all the amps to see if it works.

  2. Ok I have not tried the headphone trick or the FX return. Thanks for the advice and I will give it a go tonight after work. Hope to report back with success.

It is a used unit but absolutely without a blemish so I hope its nothing internal. Thanks again

BTW I am hooked up using L6 Link

Yeah its a DT 50/25 head with a line 6 slant 4x12 cab

Oh I forgot to tell you that if you plug the drum machine into the DT50's FX return it should sound great. I do this with my Beat Buddy with stereo amps (DT50 & Peavey Valveking II 20 MH) with excellent results. Just another way to use the FX Loop on the amps. My routing would be guitar in HD500 guitar input, Pods 1/4" analog out into Beat Buddy and Beat Buddy out into the FX return of the DT. Or Just go into the DT's preamp with the guitar and use the Beat Buddy going into the Amps FX Return.

  3. Hello,

Just got a POD HD 500 off ebay and working my way through it. Downloading tones and saving them with just a little trouble here and there.I have a Boss DR 550 MK II Dr. Rhythm that I have hooked up to the MP3/CD line in on my POD. I cannot get any sound. My question is, is there any specific setting I have to have setup to be able to get this to work? The most I've found is just plug it in and go.

All I want to do is play along with it.

    Thanks for any guidance

    Smoove

Run it into the FX Return of the Pod and you'll have control of mixing it with your guitar. Works great for me with my Beat Buddy.

I usually put the FX Loop at the end of my chain. If you put an EQ after the FX Loop you can adjust your drum freq's.

  4. When I took the bottom plate off mine to lubricate the expression pedal, it looks like they use big globs of hot glue on the ribbon cable connections, presumably so they don't become loose.

I guess if you need to get that cable disconnected you might have to soften the glue with heat.

I remember working on a boat and the wire harness connections were so water tight I had to use a small piece of wire in the seal while plugging them together in order to let air out otherwise they would not lock together, lol. Also there was dielectric grease all over it. Now those were some tight connections. Said connectors were low voltage feeds so protecting them from the environment was critical so you don't get stuck in the water.

  5. I believe the repair might not be to the screen, but possibly to a connector cable from screen to something inside. Just a guess..

Even something as small as human sweat/oil on a component can cause this. For instance if a worker used bare hands to assemble it and/or touched the contacting parts could indeed cause an issue later. Even a drop of sweat in the right spot can cause an issue down the line.

  6. So,is there a mysterious Volume Drop?,if so is there an unmysterious solution? :(

I'm not sure Old Rocker, It's the first time I've ever had this happen and I've been using my HD500 for years now. I don't remember it being complained about a lot here either. Keep in mind I was connected via USB to my laptop recording so maybe something happened in the ASIO part of the chain.

  7. I can see how much you enjoyed in your ride in your clip..  sport-graphics-motorsport-643656.gif

    --------------------------------

time ago I had an enduro motorcycle sport-graphics-motorsport-788427.gif

I went everywhere with it, even in England from Italy (I crossed the Channel by ferry of course) 2 times..

my then-girlfriend who was living in Italy, a blonde English distant relative of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (see Sherlock Holmes), broke my balls until she convinced me to sell it, because she strongly believed that we would have had a serious accident sooner or later..

think that I risked instead much more by staying just a few days at home by his parents, than in all the motorbike rides I had done.. but I learned what happened unbeknown to me only later when luckily I was no longer there..

her father, rich, crazy, strongly racist and seriously alcoholic, was going to shoot me with a rifle while I was sleeping (reason: an Italian guy with his daughter), I saved my life only because his wife and daughters hid the weapon..

a few months later the man killed himself by hanging..

seems a fiction but unfortunately is a true story

That's one hell of a story "H". Thanks for sharing that. I'm so glad you lived! I love those little gif's hahaa

    Loooooongggg Liiiiiiiivvvvvvvveeeee RRRRoooooooooooooooccccccckkkkkkkkkkk!

The video of me going down on the track is on my profile page, lol.

  8. Are you the one on the bike in your clip?

    sport-graphics-motorsport-778323.gif

That's my nephew riding the bike. I'll try digging one of me up I know I got them somewhere in the hundreds of unorganized video's I've taken, hahaa. At the time I didn't have a bike so my ride was borrowed, lol. I love that gif you put up there. So Cool!

I wish I had a GoPro back in the day when I was really into it, YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaawwwwwwww :)

Ok I found one of me on a laid back ride in the rain one day and put it in my sig line. I didn't really review the whole thing so there might be a blooper of me crashing somewhere in there, LOL.

I just added one of me going down on the track, lol, I wasn't riding my best hahahaha, had a blast though.

  9. I was playing yesterday with the HD500 and recording via USB monitoring with headphones from the Pod's headphone out jack and I suddenly had a complete volume drop for 1 second and that was the first time in the many years I've been using it. I can't explain what happened but I have an incandescent light in here and it didn't blink so I'm ruling out a power out blip, lol.
