  1. Here's the link to the knowledge base on the Spider Jam update. This should help clear some things up. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-jam/spider-jam-209-update-instructions-r472
  2. Sounds like confidence is back. Glad to hear it Randy. How long did you have the amp on for rehearsal? Thanks for sharing. Here's to your success, Hip Hip Hurray!! :).
  3. In reference to your findings concerning the idle db levels I agree with your results as being normal for this amp. I haven't measured the db level with a device, just my ears, and the numbers make sense to me. Topo III was always the noisiest.
  4. Your Welcome, I used both line ins quite a bit and I remember getting away with just plugging the guitar into the input but I also have a few modkitdiy stomp boxes that I put together such as the "Persuader" "Persuader Deluxe" and "Piledriver". I was using them between the guitar and the Line inputs on the UX2. Also I had run a Beat Buddy in stereo into the Line inputs recordered a set and then switched back to the guitar with the guitar input and then laid the guitar track layer with good results. There's alot of options with the UX2. I've also run the HD500 1/4 outs into the UX2 Line ins with good results running the Beat Buddy in Path B and the guitar in Path A.
  5. Speaking for myself here. Before I bought a DT50 I read about them having issues and some people were unhappy about it and some were very happy. Some people were very upset and made that clear on many forums. Even after that I still wanted one, hopeing I wouldn't get one that was bunk. Even after all that hope I got one that was a problem. I still don't regret getting one and Line 6 is trying to make good on it. I still don't have a working DT50 and I'm looking forward to what happens next. Even after all the issues I've had I still don't regret it, mainly 'cause I have back up amps. Also, I'm not a gigging musician ......yet, meaning I don't move the amp around much at all. So far in my experience the DT50 has excellent sonic capability.
  6. If your using GearBox. You can select your inputs on the left of the GUI. If your using Pod Farm you'll go to the mixer to change the inputs. Then your going to select "Line 1 & Line 2". Later I'll post some images of the GUI.
  7. You can run the guitars into the line inputs simultaneously. Check it out.
  8. So I'm pretty sure I've got DT50 lemon here. But the good news is that the Line 6 staff is in my opinion top notch. They're doing their best to help me and are dealing with me as fairly as possible which is what I would do in their position. Another thing, just because I'm disappointed about my DT50 doesn't mean I'm disappointed with Line 6. I've got so many of their products from 2008 that are still working great and use them all often enough to know they're reliable and sound great. I'm ending this post in a positive note, Kudos to Line 6!
  9. Hey Randy, Line 6 is going to call tag this amp and try to fix it once and for all. The only other options I had was to exchange this one and in return get a U.S. DT25 HD or a DT50 HD from Europe in which case they would make sure the power supply was changed so I could use it in the U.S. . So this one I have looks like a lemon but maybe they can fix it and get it right. To answer the question of what they did the second time is they replaced the main board and power tubes.
  10. Your positive attitude is refreshing to say the least :). Sounds great and I really don't have plans to sell it I'm kind of stubborn when it come admitting failure by selling something, lol. Line 6 recently had it twice. I had to call them to get details on repairs since the paper work they gave me didn't tell much. The first time it they said they replaced the power tubes, the main board and the transformer fuse I thought they also said TSB 059, don't hold me to the latter. The second time I don't know what they did since I haven't called them to find out. I just got a response from Line 6 and they asked me to call them to see if they can troubleshoot with me. I'm going to do that in about 20 minutes or so. Thanks Again!
  11. "OMG" pretty much sums it up. I'm waiting patiently for Line 6 to get back with me. Here's to hoping for a working, reliable DT50 Head in the very near future.
  12. I think that sounds great Randy. I think I should wait to see what Line 6 has to say first before I get deep with you. Everything you say always makes sense to me as I too have some experience with electronics. When I powered it up all the lights on the front panel lit up normally, after 5 maybe 10 seconds I heard the relays clicking. After that I waited for the tubes to warm up giving the amp a minute before taking standby off at which point not one peep with settings that I know would produce a pleasant sound. Then I looked back at the Power Tubes and they were unlit. The 12AX7's looked dark also but I must admit it's harder to see if they're lit unless you're in a somewhat dark room. I didn't check any of the fuses yet as I think Line 6 needs to take a look at it. I appreciate your help and will stay in touch with you on this. I'll also be getting my DMM and other tools ready in case I have to take the bull by horns in the very near future. Your help is much appreciated Randy. Have a Great Day!
  13. I'm glad your having luck with your DT's Randy. You always have such interesting posts. I'm sad to report that my amp is not working. I received my DT50 about a month ago and I powered it up for the first time to play Mom some music for Mothers Day and not a peep out it. I looked at the power tubes and they're not even lit up. Very disappointing since sitting a little over a month in an air conditioned room shouldn't be a problem. I'm back at square one. I sure hope Line 6 helps me.
  14. I've been busy with other things and after about a month since it was delivered I decided to finally fire up the DT 50 and play Mom some music for Mothers day. So went through the process of hooking it up, warming it up and not one peep out of it. I must admit I'm growing weary of the DT disappointment as I know I'm not doing anything to 'cause the failure. Even after a month of sitting it should've worked at least for 15 minutes, lol. So I went and grabbed my Spider Jam and quickly changed the mood. I must admit the 2008' SJ has been a very reliable amp for me, glad I have a back up. :) I looked at the power tubes and there was no light and they're cold so it seems like the same problem as the last time. Time to contact Line 6.
  15. That was a great post Randy. Thanks a million for taking the time to do all that diagnosing and posting your findings. I've some issues with my DT50 too, although Line 6 has been doing their part in trying to help me. Information like this is what helps make me more knowledgeable. Please let us know later how it's working in the long run.
  16. Means lollipop Richards or calling someone a "Pen is", lol.
  17. Don't sweat the driveling small stuff GB. There's always good and bad in everything 'cause good wouldn't exist without bad, it's like a contrast thing. Posting a goodbye thread is like opening the door to abuse and some good comments in between. Look at the good and move on. On occasion someone down the line will read this post and a get laugh or the very least a chuckle, which is a good thing. If I could buy every sound device out there I would 'cause I just like toying with them. With everything I've ever done being a mechanic I've always made do with the very minimum, I've even learned how to be a tool maker and make my own parts. Thankfully, I'm past that point now and like you I moved on. No one can take experience and knowledge from a person. Sounds like you'll be gett'in some more experience.
  18. I can get great tone out of an old Philco AM car radio, lol. Have fun with the new noise maker GB :)

    Clean Setting

Glad to hear you take the battery out of your Dyna Comp before storing it. It always feels good when you know you saved a possible battery leak in your tools. :) Heck I've had batteries leak while using a device, very disappointing. I built the modkitsdiy red comp "piledriver", persuader and persuader deluxe. They work good in front of the Spider Jam too. The boost option in the settings will boost the clean model a bit, you should be able to hear it.
  20. The one I received came with the key on a card that was inserted in the CD sleeve. Have you created an account with Ableton yet? Maybe you should. You could also call Line 6 or do a support ticket with them. You could also return it and get another Studio GX package or just exchange it.
  21. Nice Glenn! You did a solid making those models sound great. Thanks Man.

    Clean Setting

If I just turn the Master to around noon both clean models are pretty loud on my Spider Jam. I can also boost it a bit by activating the boost in the settings. Maybe there is something going on. Most of the time with modelers like this the clean volume is relatively low compared to the hi gain models. Where do have the master volume set?
  23. Whoooaaa! Those are huuuuuge. Now that's rich leesteel, LOL.
  24. I should've asked what operating system your using. I'm running Windows Vista and before this Windows 7 and just unplugging it was fine. Maybe you need to "safely unplug" your UX2. Another link about safely unplugging drives.
