  1. Have you read the knowledge base for the Spider Jam? if not check it out here >> http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-jam/spider-jam-209-update-instructions-r472 It should clear up most questions.
  2. I just got the chance to unpack the the amp and set it up. This time I fired it up looking at the power tubes. Low and Behold ~ let there be light, the power tubes lit up. This made me happy so I let warm up for a minute, plugged my guitar into the front "high input", left the drive, tone stack, pres, reverb and volume alone, they were all at 12 o'clock, turned the master to around 10 o'clock and put the standby to the on position and heard that low level idle "ssshhhh" I was getting happier, lol. Then I turned the volume up on my strat and got even happier :). Yes, "iiiiiiiIt's Aliiiiiiive!". I had time enough to play for a half hour so I took my time and tried topo I, II, and III. These 3 topo's sounded great, even had a very low idle "ssshhh". I still have to take a day try topo IV and get the HD500 hooked up to it etc. Played for about 30 min. Thanks Line 6 Team in Calabasis, CA! :) I know this amp has been a thorn in your side.
  3. I've felt the same way although I'm not a developer. Tell Line 6 your a developer when you contact them, maybe they'll do something that suits your needs better. Doesn't hurt to ask. I used all my usages up in approx 6 years due to computer issues such as hard drive failures, laptop video card failures and software issues, etc.

    cab settings

Thanks, I hope it works and keeps working too, lol. As for me being nervous to flick the switch, that comes from a user/consumer stand point, lol. As for my genetics, they're made up of farmers, techs, fabricators, machinist's, mechanics, carpenters and masons. They go back a long ways but it looks like I'm the only one left in this line as they've all seemed to pass away all at the same time a while back. Bless them all. I'll be firing up the DT50HD soon, to see what gives.
  5. Do a support ticket or call Line 6 they'll reset for you no problems.
  6. Wow it made it back earlier than the expected delivery date. UPS expected delivery date was Mon. Jun 1st and it showed up Fri. May 29th. Now all I've got to do is try it out.

    cab settings

I suppose I'm going to be able to brush up on this since my DT50HD just got back home from the 3rd trip to Line 6 warranty repair late yesterday. I'm afraid my memory on the DT details have faded from all the warranty issues I've been having, lol. The first half of this year my DT has spent more time traveling around the US than I. Uuuuugh. I'm starting to feel nervous just flicking the power switch. To the OP if you haven't started brushing up reading the manuals I suggest you go at it and look like I might even have to, lol.

    cab settings

Glad you saw that "T". I should've picked up on that. I think the OP needs to check and be sure his Pod settings are set to Studio Direct Out. I think the other output settings such as Combo Front omit the cab settings.

I'm pretty sure if your using L6 link in Studio Direct mode your cab settings should be working. You could try restarting. You should not lose model packs by restarting it.
  10. It's really just a matter of the policy of the seller. If a company has a return policy that allows one to get money back within a certain time period then so be it. The policy is the deal, then after that if the company wants to make exceptions that's up to them. Reading the fine print is very important.
  11. It's sad to hear about your SJ Coma ordeal. Is it possible the power switch is at fault? I seem to remember people saying those types of power switches aren't very durable. Of course I could be way off. Could also be an intermittent issue with the power supply. These parts are available at fullcompass.com. Although, like you said it powered down while reinstalling the firmware so I'm not sure it it's recoverable since that happened. Maybe someone with more knowledge will shed some light on it.
  12. Thanks! I'll give it another try later. Maybe I did something wrong.
  13. I tried the normal method of embedding a YouTube video into a post but this doesn't seem to work in the 'about me" section of our profile here. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Your Welcome, sorry I don't have a solution but maybe someone knows those developer's secret key combinations and they post them. You've got my curiosity churn'in now, lol.
  15. I had an issue with the drums just disappeared on me one day. I don't know why this happened. I came to the conclusion that somehow the firmware was corrupted somehow. I fixed it by reinstalling the firmware. You can find this info in the knowledge base. I'm unaware of a special combination of buttons to undo or redo the drum and songs. Sounds interesting though wish I knew more. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/amplifiers/spider-jam/spider-jam-209-update-instructions-r472
  16. Holy Moly, Line 6 had my amp for 1 day and it's already on it's way back to me. Wow!
  17. I agree, I ran the HD500 headphone out into the CD/MP3 jack on my Spider Jam and couldn't believe what I heard, sounded great to me. I did the same thing with a Mobile In out of an iPad and was surprised.
  18. I read that and I must admit I may not offer as much as others in the area of providing answers to people but I try to help when I think I can. I post quite a few sound tracks in the realm of guitar and drums or just solos and I've had a few people ask me how I obtained a particular sound and I respond with as much info as I can so they may try to duplicate it. I hold back no secrets in the area of tone making as I'm not an expert in field and consider myself always learning. I feel like I'm ready to concentrate on learning to read music so I can play and sing songs people are familiar with but I really like to just play guitar with no restraints, lol. I always record using a Line 6 AISO device of some sort and I use RiffWorks and rewire Ableton 8 & Reason Adapted. I also use Instant Drummers and EQ everything. I use old AE Bose Headphones to monitor most of the time so I can keep the noise down. Many times I've used a noise gate with the threshold set very high which most people say is a tone sucker, which I agree with, although I've been able to get workable tones by using RiffWorks to supplement and make up for the loss associated with noise gate tonesuck by using it's EQ, etc. to either boost or cut. When I use the noise gate this way I'm usually using my strat, which picks up quite a bit of noise locally. Most of all I try every possible combination, when I can, just to hear what the results are then make a mental note of what's happening and this makes it easier for me to set up the programs on the fly since I don't want to rely on saving patches, even though I do. Most of all, if I find myself spending too much time tweaking I stop and just plug into an amp and play. There is so many ways to set things it's mind boggling. Sometimes keeping it simple is the best way to go and sometimes it nice to be able to explore different possibilities with the many paths available. I like to explore but I set time limits for myself so I don't zone out too much, lol. In the end, I do this for fun, lol. Rock On! and let loose on your guitars or whatever instrument you can find :)
  19. That post came from a fully matured brain. Well put."S". Whenever I read the forum and I see threads like this getting the kind of attention they get, which is quite a bit more than some I see which should be getting more, I realize that this is the nature of man. On the other hand when I read between the lines I can get some good info here and learn something. I also get a chuckle, lol. I've spent some time very close to "The Most Dangerous City" in the U.S. which means I've seen some downright, lowdown people in action on a daily basis and this pales to that. There's a difference between a verbal fun joking jab at someone and a verbal malicious attack which may be followed by unmentionable actions. I guess what I'm gett'in at is it's important not to read too much into these threads 'cause there's too much other data missing in order to understand where these mildly malicious attacks come from. It's kinda like the texting thing, one cannot see what the facial expressions of the sender is in order to get the full meaning of it. There's something missing so to speak. Real communication can only happen when face to face IMO. Now where's my guitar, lol.
  20. Good post!! I know this has been covered here before. I find myself even years later still referring to the manuals.
  21. I know the pop you speak of although I don't gig. The only thing I can think of is the Amp should be put in standby or the master turned down before the topo/class change. It would've been nice if this was thought through for the gigging musician who need to make fast changes. Maybe a remote master control or standby switch would've helped, maybe it's easier than that though.
  22. Make a support ticket asking Line 6 to reset your lifetime usages. You can also tell them you have a new computer. They'll help you with that.
  23. The hard gate sounds devilish with that ".666"ms latency thing go'in on, lol.
  24. I knew that........LOL. I love it when someone boils it all the way down. It shows how passionate you are about your work. All very good points, Thanks!
  25. I hear ya man, It's not often I fool around making, fixing or modding a speaker cabinet so I just use that whenever I need the info so I don't bother trying to remember but the more I look at it throughout my life the more it sticks, lol.
