  1. Bug or not I tweak using the pod just about all the time. I've had this issue before too. Good observation.
  2. Ok gotchya. One last thing have you tried a different USB port your computer?
  3. Search your computer for "license manager" or run it from Monkey by selecting "optional add-ons" and then clicking on "run license manager". A reinstall may be in order here so I think it's a good idea. Not a bad idea to uninstall everything first by using Line 6 Uninstall Tool, which can be found by searching your computer. Then restart your computer to finalize the removal. After you install everything, what I do, is before plugging in the usb after finishing the install....I restart my computer and then plug in the KB37. I don't think you have to do it this way, it's just the way I do it and it works for me.
  4. I'm not sure what's going on here. Have you run the "License Manager" and authorized both the computer and the device? You don't need to save a code for this to my knowledge. You can call Line 6 and talk to a tech if your really stuck. You should be able to use Pod Farm on another computer even if you want to just change computers. Also check your computer to see that your KB37 is the "default sound device".
  5. I found the post below from the archives and If I'm reading it correctly You are starting the HD500 in safe mode by powering up holding the right Nav Pad. I suppose if you do this while your connected to your 'puters usb and running Monkey that this would close to or forcing the usb drivers. Not sure but maybe will help you a bit. 6. Damn that sucks, I think the one they replace it with is a better made version, hopefully. They're still weak, so gotta be real careful with them. Getting used to the onboard controls isn't a bad idea but I would use them gingerly also. Try not to press too hard and try not to turn the rotary controls wildly fast too much. Just a thought. Hope you get 'er fixed in short order.
  7. Could also be a bad SD card. There's always some that are bunk in a mass production. Glad you got it solved and posted a link to a working SD Card source. These issues are so annoying aren't they?
  8. Have you any experience with this sort of stuff? If not take your time and do some research on it. Ask questions when in doubt. I've some experience with other electronics but I haven't had to work on any of my Line 6 devices yet other than putting tubes in my DT50HD, which wasn't even the problem. Good Luck and try to post back if ya can.
  9. I would contact Line 6 through a support ticket or phone. It shouldn't be doing that. Make sure your cable is good.
  10. All you should do is have fun with learning and playing and make sure you let yourself go before you stop playing, lol. That's what I do 'cause life is waaaay too short. Get some good drum tracks and Let 'Er Rip....Rock On!
  11. Looks like it needs replacing or the contacts need cleaning. I seem to remember someone here saying all they needed to do was clean the contact for the screen and it was fixed. Of Course, that means taking the unit apart.
  12. I thought it was possible to do a sort of push like that. Check with Line 6, They can answer that in a support ticket or just call. Better yet someone in the forum may help with that. Same here with the aftermarket Anti virus software. That may be blocking it. I can't say that I've issues like this when I had MacAffee (free) though. I installed everything here no problems just recently. But it still could be an issue as I think others have mentioned it in the past.
  13. Hey "M", I haven't tried the L6 Link yet since it came back. When I did use it (at the beginning) I was getting a little noise but now that I've got more experience I think the noise was my amp having a problem not the connection or HD500. The last one is a good question. I'm not sure I would've thought about. There may be a way to switch between 4CM and L6 Link but it may not be feasible or worth doing since I think you going to need a switch for the L6 Link.and if one was obtained how would the HD500/DT react? I'm into thoughts on this kinda thing, sometimes thoughts like you just had here spark new innovation. I'm a very experimental person and have tried many things when making things/repairs over the years, with a fare share of failures too but the failures is the teacher of innovation. Thinking things through is the best way to go and that comes with research/education, experience and age. I'll let you know if I have idle noise associated with my L6 Link when I try it. I've got to admit I'm liking what I'm hearing with the 4CM and I should be able to run some stomp boxes in between without imposing too much noise. Also, I noticed when I change preamp models such as Black Face Dbl, Hiwatt, and Gibson, when using that patch I made, they sound pretty darn good and I didn't have to touch the settings in the model at all.
  14. Did you do the reset and recalibrate? Did you unplug the USB from the computer, restart the computer then plug it back in to see if it connects? I don't know what else to ask, lol. Sounds like you know what to do. You could always call Line 6 or do a support ticket.
  15. I like it 'cause I can switch between feeding into the DT's Preamp or Power Amp. I'm going to feed a MIDI out from the Pod into the DT's MIDI in and try to access some of the internal DT's stuff like the Boost. I've got to brush up on that a little but you can be sure whatever I do I'm going to post it here.
  16. That's a very good question. The answer is I have no Idea. I called 'em to let them know it worked, even though I needed to spend more time with it to see what gives as far as reliability goes and gave a big thank you. I never really get enough info to be satisfied, I guess 'cause I'm a mechanic, etc, etc, blah blah. I would like to know and may contact them soon but for now I want to use the stuff and put it to the test. I didn't even look at the serial numbers (internally) to see if they swapped out chassis or not, lol. For now I've got test every possible combination so I know it all works good. I'll let ya know when and if I find out what actually went on. I've got very low idle noise and when using the FX Loop I had no unwanted noise either, it sounds great to me and my listeners. I've heard stories about FX Loop noise, I'm not getting any and I know I said I used a very low FX Loop Level (on the back of the DT) but I did crank it up and I had no idle noise, it was nice and quiet until I hit the strings. I'll use it again tomorrow.
  17. I was playing said Amp today using the 4 Cable Method and am loving it BIG TIME. This was the first time I was able to sit down and concentrate on setting it up and it is worth it. I updated my Thread today noting what I did to set it up so I can just review it in case I hit my head and get amnesia, lol.
  18. I'm enjoying my DT50HD & HD500 now. I just got done, for the first time, rigging it up with the "4 Cable Method". I only had about 45 min. to actually play but I sure do like it very much. The ability to choose between using the DT's preamp or power amp sections is great, I love the sound this set up delivers. I still like just plugging the guitar into the front of it, soooo simple and sounds great. Every time I work with the HD500 I get better and it becomes easier. I tried a few of the preamp models in the Pod running the output settings in "Combo Power Amp", the 1/4 Line Out set to "Line", the FX Loop to "Line", Pod Master set to 12 o'clock, the Pod Mixer set to +3db on each channel, the DT's Master to 12 o'clock in Half Power Mode 25W, DT's FX Loop Level set to just a crack from 0, and for the Preamp I used Topo I, the channel tone stack was set at Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, Pres, Volume = Straight up and Reverb = Off. Also it was running in A/B & Pentode Modes. My test patch Blk Fce Dbl Vb Pre 4CM HD500 DT50 Of Course, any of the volume settings can be adjusted differently but what I used kept the overall sound low enough not to annoy anyone in the vicinity, lol. I thank the forum members that have posted their settings here and there in various threads for helping me to get a good idea of where I stand so I don't make unwanted LOUD noises, lol THANK YOU!!! :) I've got "Thank Line 6" again for all the help they've been giving me with this Amp. Also, this video was excellent for learning this set up.
  19. Make sure you check over the replacement good. Then you can wipe the sweat from your forehead, lol. Glad they're helping you. :)
  20. Recently, I had a similar thing happen with a KB37. I leave it connected to a laptop and after shutting down and restarting it would not turn on, no lights and not connected. To fix it I just unplugged the USB and plugged it back in. Not sure what caused this it just happened, lol.
  21. Your welcome, I'm not aware of a fuse that would cause this. I'm at loss here and not sure what to say. If I find any info about this I'll let you know I would suggest doing a support ticket but I think they would say give it to a Line 6 service center. I think you know how that goes. If you can't get it working, since it has clean sound, you might be able to run a modeler into the input. If that's not an option you might want to look for another amp. I always said to myself, if my Spider Jam get's to the point where it doesn't work and I can't fix it I would turn it into an 8 ohm cab for one of my tube amps. I hope you get going though!

    cab settings

I've been brushing up a bit scanning through the manuals so I figured I would add a part of the HD500 Manual which is pertinent. I usually use the stack front or stack power. I want to try out the 4 cable method soon.
  23. Make sure the record setting is set to "Guitar". Do the amp models work?
  24. GearBox or PodFarm? I think you want to turn the monitor volumes down.
