  1. I just had a similar thing happen with my KB37. I'm running Win Vista on a Vaio. While I had the computer running I unplugged the USB to use the on board speakers for a short time and then plugged the KB37 back in and nothing happened, no lights, nothing. I unplugged it and plugged back in the same port and then it connected fine. This happened to me twice recently. Otherwise it work great.
  2. Hey Pete. Great video and playing as usual and you have a great drummer there. Thanks for posting your tips and videos. They're much appreciated. As for the the way people play I look at music as an art so when I hear other peoples music I look at it as an extension of themselves. For instance, the days I feel good I may play differently than days I don't feel so good, lol. To me even the worse music should be appreciated (at least a little, lol) since many people do not even try to be musical and obviously ones moral or amoral standing in life will depict how they see and hear things. As for those customtones. Try not to get your hopes up, lol. It's great for being able to see how one builds a patch but as for how it sounds when you use it?.....well that's a whole nuther story although you might get lucky. Going direct with any pod is where they shine. Being able to just take a guitar and the pod to gig is the way to go. So light and easy to manage. RO/CO
  3. Looks like your making it work and that's all that really counts. Good Going Guitarkyler! I hear ya on the font thing, lol. I made the mistake of using one on my profile that when read on an iPhone or iPad it looks like some heavy duty cursive writing, lol.
  4. I had this once with X3 Pro and HD500. I ended up uninstalling all software and driver on my PC, reinstalling everything and then reinstalling the firmware in the devices. I don't know why it happened and that's the way I fixed it. Also, in all the years I had them it only happened once and they were fairly new too.
  5. I know you've done a lot to clear the fog with EQ's and Thanks again. I remember most of your posts about them. Very Very helpful for sure.
  6. Thanks for the great info guys. I should've looked up that video. I remember seeing it long ago and it slipped my mind. Have a Great Day!
  7. Can someone help me understand how I might use this EQ? I'm not sure what the Shift knob in this amp models does. In the meantime I'm going to try to use it in hopes to find out how it works. Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. Good point with the on axis 57 mic you'll get all those highs in the signal for sure. Everyone in this thread has good points. The ol saying "You can please some of the people some of the time but not all the people all the time" goes when comes to this stuff.
  9. Your Welcome! I don't mess with cabs very often but when I do I refer to that pdf.
  10. So true, I rarely use the raw sound of an amp model, although there are times I do, lol.
  11. Just curious, what did you tweak first and what haven't you tweaked? How we're you monitoring, headphones, guitar amp, pa etc.? I've seen silverhead say look at the DEP's master volume maybe the resonance. How did you build your patch? Some say they like it so I've got to wonder. I'm interested in the packs but can't get them yet. LOL
  12. I agree, but I suppose that's part of what makes it affordable to most.
  13. I think the main reason they like the FRFR is cause they ok and do the job without much maintenance. The DT50 sound Kicks A**!
  14. You not alone when it comes to wondering why the models are the way they are. Although I've messed with all the amps in GearBox since 2008, still use them and can get them to sound pretty darn good. I can tell you I will go to a post EQ in the DAW to get things tuned up before recording digitally. When I go into a real amp with a modeler I use a post EQ in the device if it has one, if it doesn't I use an external EQ. That is if I feel I need it. Sometimes I use the EHX Tube EQ last in the chain with good results. I've found that tweaking is a must with sound and learning how to tweak proficiently is mandatory, IMO. This way whatever device you pick up it's not a mystery to you and you'll know pretty well what direction you'll want to go in.
  15. Sounds Great! Nice little video. Looks and sounds like you have a Dual Path or Dual Amp patch there. How did you make that patch if you don't mind me asking? :) Have a Great Day Christian and keep it ROCK"IN!
  16. Cool, glad to hear something positive since I see at least one who wants to return the model pack. I've noticed something with modeling and that it is....."It's never straight forward". I always need to try different settings and combinations before I can really make a decision on the tone. I wish I could just plug it in and go but not the case many times. There are those times though that the pod models just work off the cuff. If I just plug straight into the front of the DT with my guitar it takes only seconds to get a good inspiring tone. Don't take this the wrong way 'cause I really like this technology and use almost every day.
  17. Glasses, Ugghhhh. Right there with ya man! I would've never know about this bug, Thanks. You gotta wonder how many other bugs there are that haven't been found simply 'cause no one uses the areas they exist......yet, lol. :)
  18. I was confused with that at first but once I switched it then went to view mode I saw where it switched to and got my bearings.
  19. Good thread. I don't use the looper in the HD500 very much but I may revisit it in the future. The first time I went to use it I really didn't know much about layering guitar but as I progress I find that most things I was uncomfortable with early in the game become more appetizing. The first time I used the looper I remember these volume issues your speaking of and gave up and moved onto continuing to learn how to make my fingers move better. I've been using RiffWorks to loop and layer with lately but since my good computer drank the kool-aid and croaked I'm looking for other ways to mix. I really do like RiffWorks, Ableton and Reason. They work great together and as I use it I get more proficient at it. Very good thread punkyboy and great posts as they all help me better understand it. I think the problem is that it's too simple of a looper as spaceatl said it's like an old school looper.
  20. Blast!! Something inside might've gave way. I know fullcompass.com has parts for them but I don't know what to recommend since I'm not experienced in the area.....yet. Here's one of the parts that might be the cause. http://www.fullcompass.com/product/438584.html
