I placed a pre-order at Sweetwater and they said they expected them in July

Of course we need a firmware update to support the Variax model change with preset/snapshot and hopefully control of a powercab to go with the D10 box. Seems like profiling is going to come before support for Variax. It might be fun to make a profile of my old ADA MP1 preamps (one stock one modified)

I have been using a couple of JTV Variax guitars for years. Sweetwater now says July delivery for a preorder D10 box. For now I am using a strat with bridge humbucker and an SG, but there is so much I did with the Variax that I can't currently do like switch between an acoustic sound and an electric sound or use the Variax Sitar sound for the song Come And Get Your Love. I also miss being able to change the tuning for some songs with a preset. I was a little disappointed that variax and powercab support was not built in and requires a separate hardware box that won't be available for quite some time.

Now after a couple of reboots I have flags seeming to work again, using showcase has been very frustrating and time consuming.

Now after doing the reset and loading some songs all over again the Preset/Snap flags don't do anything. Adding new flags don't have any effect, the preset snapshot doesn't change.

Factory reset , restore backup, delete songs seems to work, but just wasted a full days of work loading songs (didn't even get to start adding flags before it failed). Not really sure it is worth doing again if it just stops playing audio again. Showcase doesn't seem reliable enough for any serious use.

Good luck with this process if it stops playing tracks at a gig. I wouldn't trust this feature if you take the Stadium out of your house.

I'm experiencing the same problem now. Tracks loaded show as playing and everything else works, but no audio from the track shows in the mixer or is output to headphones (or other outputs). I don't think showcase is usable at this point in the firmware development, I don't believe it can be trusted to work at a gig. I have zero trust in this feature at this time. I think I might need to go back to using my OG Helix for gigs and rehearsals. Sort of feel like I have purchased a very expensive paperweight at this point.

I have several songs with a backing track, click track and queue track I created, and I need to replace the backing track with one that doesn't have a count in click in the track (don't want to count in sent to P.A. mains). So far I can't figure out a way to add another track to an existing song. Creating a new song will be a huge hassle as I have many flags for patch changes and midi commands that I would have to do all over again (hours of work). Is there any way to add a file to an existing song in Showcase?

Set your L3 to P.A. Reference. If you set it to guitar I would expect it to sound as you described.

It might be cool to have a model of Brian Mays Deacy amp, or a Lab Series L3 like the one that B.B.King played. -Max

When I upgraded to the Helix from the HD500 the fist thing I noticed was how much easier it was to get a good basic tone. The next thing I noticed was that the Helix felt more like a real amp and that I don't really notice the device any longer (it has just become an extension of my guitar). If they never released another new product I would be happy until the day I die with the tones I get from my Helix. -Max

I bought some presets from him when I first got my Helix. I used those presets tweaked slightly for my first few gigs with the Helix. I have since moved to creating my own presets, but Glenn's stuff was real nice and helped me get of to a quick start. -Max

I have bought a couple of Glenn's packages and one from Scott Michael Minchk. I don't use any of the packages I downloaded for live performance, but I don't feel like I overpaid or was ripped off in any way. I learned from each of those tones that I paid for. -Max

I don't use the joystick very often at all, but mine has been back for repair twice now for this issue. Very quick turn around on repair, UPS picks it up on Thursday and then on the following Tuesday my repaired Helix is back on my doorstep. -Max
