  1. What about the other way around? I have been using a 500X while I am getting my 500 repaired.
  2. I am still waiting for a quote. It has been 2 weeks and should be any day now. I will post when I receive it.
  3. I just sent mine for repair for the same problem (didn't get it back yet). At the same time, my bank down and FS6 does not work. Tried to re-flash and system reset to no avail.
  4. Try re-flashing the firmware, perform a global reset and recalibrate the volume pedal. Don't forget to save your set lists FIRST so that you can restore them.
  5. Well... It didn't go very well. When I did a sound check at the gig last night, my FS6, Bank down and Volume pedal all were not responding. I flashed the memory again, performed a System Reset like last time, but the POD didn't return to a functional state. I had to use channels A and B on the DT Amp to have a Clean and Dirty sound with no effects. Bummer! I brought the POD today to a repair center and hopefully they can fix it. VERY unreliable for gigging.
  6. Well the Reset certainly did help some other problems I had such as correct the FS6 not working (I had to rearrange my banks without FS6). The volume levels are more consistent now. I re-leveled one patch and all seems to be good for the moment. I have a gig tomorrow night and I don't trust the POD at the moment. Hopefully all will go well as usual. Thanks so much for the suggestions.
  7. Thanks Hurghanico & Brazzy. I will try to reset tonight. Good idea. However, the reason I re-flashed was because I was getting these issues in the first place. Will keep you posted...
  8. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been having some problems with a couple of patches. I would select a patch and it would be at a very low volume (all my patches were previously leveled). All other patches except are at the correct volume. I have flashed the firmware and re-installed the set to no avail. I did notice something weird. If I double click one of the 2 patches in HD Edit, the volume increases to normal level. If I change away from the patch using the foot switches and come back to the same patch, it is low again. Anyone have any insights to the problem?
  9. I have the same thing. From what I have been reading on this forum, it seems that I will have to replace my tubes. Most said that the hiss goes away
  10. I thought it was in that last DT update, not HD500 update. I may be wrong...
  11. The POD will send the MIDI signals to the amp (with the AES/EBU cable) and will select whatever you set up on the POD. If you have no cable, you will have to download one of the editors (i.e., DT Edit, available via search of these forums) in order to send the amp changes.

    L6 Link Issue

So he did... XLR not AES, but should make no difference for testing

    L6 Link Issue

Have you tried replacing the L6Link cable?
  14. I don't know about the 75W, but for the 30W, if you hold the Tap button while powering on, you bypass the preamp and get better POD sounds with much less color
  15. For my Spider II, I power up holding the Tap button and it bypasses the emulation. I then use my POD to manipulate the tones/effects.
  16. I have the same hiss from the day that I bought it (about 8 months ago). I plugged it into different outlets, to no avail. I really only hear it when I'm by myself. With the band, there is usually so much other noise. I've learned to live with it, but it is definitely much louder that a Twin Reverb.
  17. You can hold the TAP button depressed while turning on the amp
