  1. How long before they come out with a Helix 1500 amp (like the Firehawk)? Stay tuned to NAMM 2017! Haha Jim
  2. I have followed many of these forums as I once owned and sold a FH floor modeler. From reading the forums one really good solution is to output any TT or floor modeler through FRFR bi amped speaker systems such as the Line 6 StageSource Lt2 or higher. Friedman also makes an expensive wedge FRFR as well. The YouTube videos of Paul Hindmarsh demoing the StageSource LT with his Pod 500 were exceptionally cool! If you're rich, get the Firehawk 1500 which works as an amp or FRFR source (monitor). Others can weigh in here!Jim
  3. Hi. I've only seen the 75 for $399. It has 1 8" and 4 stereo speakers while the smaller model (30) has just 4 2.25" stereo spkrs. The 75 is louder and if you see it for $300, get it! Esp if space is not an issue
  4. Hi. I'm new to some of these products. I have an M9 and briefly tried the FH floor modeler. It appears there are many similarities with these products. I get that Helix is very high end but I'm not sure what makes the Firehawk better than the Amplifi. And how does the fx100 differ from Amplifi TT? I'm assuming the Firehawk 1500 is the very big brother of the Amplifi150? Is the Helix the big brother of the Pod hd500x? Where can you find articles comparing all this stuff? I've checked the Line6 web site. I don't see the comparisons. Thx Jim
  5. The M series of modelers saves parameter tweaks in the way Drake described. Then if you want to copy the patch to the same or different location, it works just like the FH. A huge advantage of the FH (having used both systems) is the "My Tones" feature on the remote ap! Jim
  6. Sorry. Can't read the jack labels in either pic
  7. Would you mind sending a photo of these exact connections? Thanks. Jim
  8. Question for the Colonel: it appears you have found so many uses for the 1500 with all those output options, but you do not use the built in FH FX effects or programming options because you rely on your Helix for that. Why not just get a powered monitor you can drive with the Helix and maybe a mixer for other instruments? Probably save 20 pounds in weight! It seems like a waste to not use the FH chip set or maybe you do?! Just curious because Line 6 developed this thing as a programmable modeler/amp combo that just happens to also feature FRFH capability. Thanks. I always enjoy reading your remarks and advice and I don't own any of those devices! Jim
  9. Wow! Interesting. What did you not like about it if I may ask? I returned the FH modeler (resold) it because I thought it didn't sound right at live gigs with higher volume coming out of my Fender HRD. How do you use the Helix during live gigs? What amp set up etc? Thx!Jim
  10. I'd love to hear from you after you get up and running with the new setup. Let me know how the amp performs with your axe on stage. Jim
  11. I was thinking of using the Atomic in the way you are suggesting because, at 63 lbs the FH1500 is a bit heavy. Also, I get that it has the Firehawk built in so you would need nothing other than the optional Foot controller. But if you're using your Axe, Helix orAtomic Amplifire then having all those extra features seems to be redundant (and they do add to all that weight)! Having the WDW feature is pretty cool if you understand how to use it. I was unhappy with the FHmodeler as a live gig solution running out of a standard Fender amp but I do miss the remote app!! The Amplifire lets you connect to your desktop computer via USB and is very highly rated. Any one else out there have some thoughts on this? Thx. Jim
  12. Hi Steve. I've just started to read a bit about the Atomic CLR to use with a modeler. Do you know what all the differences are (Active vs Passive and size differences)? Their web site is not too informative. And where can you buy their stuff!?Jim
  13. That still beats the 90 year old drunks and floozies I play for at the yacht club circuit!! But they tip and keep asking for Chuck Berry songs! Jim
  14. Thanks guys, but all of my patches were self created and a few that I used as is on the FH that I tweaked. The volume thing was strange! I thought I had it under control at the last gig but people were saying the volume rolled on and off in waves! Going back to being a tube geek with 2 or 3 trusty pedals! Thanks and enjoy!! Jim
  15. I'm dumping the Firehawk but I'll probably just stick with my M9 or possibly upgrade to M13. I love the power and tone of my HRD too much! Thx!
  16. To all of you FH friends: Hasta La Vista! I just put my 5-month old FHFX on the Reverb.com listing! My good old Fender HRD sounded so much better with my old M9 set up in a little a/b test I did today. It blew the FH away for power, grit, tone the works. I got tired of people telling me my live tone was muddy or weak since I started using the FH! So, if anyone knows anyone interested in buy a slightly used FH, go to reverb.com and check out. Perhaps with a different output device, someone wil enjoy it as much as you all do! I will miss that remote app! But, no more volume issues for me! Jim

  18. Why don't you shoot a video of this process? Many of us have no experience with this!! Especially me. Thx!Jim
  19. This may be a silly question or one for a line 6 tech: If these guys are using their Helix with the FH 1500, shouldn't you also be able to use a regular FH floor modeler with the FH 1500 as your pseudo FBV? Or would their be incompatibilities? Also, if you did this, would you just be using the 1500 as a powered speaker/monitor? I.e. how would you connect to it? Or would the floor modeler FH just be designated to being an overqualified foot pedal board underling to the 1500? I'm trying to come up with a scenario for getting the 1500 and not losing a bundle on the Floor modeler I just bought 3 months ago! Maybe Line 6 could help out with this? Jim
  20. So what can you do for us jerks who bought the floor modeler 3 months ago but now need the FH 1500?Jim
  21. Huge: @ 22" x 11.5" x 3" high
  22. Since many of us bought Firehawks and Helixes as floorboards already, why not make a Bluetooth 1500 without the digital brain built in! Maybe it would help to drop a few pounds Jim
  23. If the Amplifire is an amp modeler, how do you use it with your Fender amp? Isn't that like having two pre amps competing with each other or do you plug into the power amp jack in the back of the Fender (as I do) and bypass your preamp? I don't know anything about how the amplifire works. Jim
  24. You just saved me a bundle! So thank you for that!! I'm also interested in the Firehawk 1500! But I will check out the amplifire as well. What Fender do you have? Jim
