  1. Q: How come my DL4 pedal says “9V AC” for Power Requirements, but the DC-DL4’s output is rated 12V DC? A: The DL4 was originally designed to be battery powered, or to optionally be powered by the Line 6 PX-2G power supply (which was a 9V AC output). Due to Level VI power supply efficiency requirements in North America, the PX-2G was discontinued in North America. However, the DL4, as well as the DM4, MM4, FM4 and AM4 stompboxes, can also work with a center-positive 12V DC supply, such as the DC-DL4 power supply.

    DL4/MM4 Labels

The labels are sold in the US on our web shop: https://shop.line6.com/dl4-mm4-tweak-tweez-label.html Otherwise, your area's distributor can order them under part number 40-25-0044. The enclosed file can be used to print them.
  3. Hello, my first thread ever in my first forum ever: be patient. I bought a second-hand MM4 a couple of years ago. In these two years it has been powered by batteries for a short while, then by a Gator power supply 9 V DC. Everything was fine so far, both in function and from the power supply point of view. End of July I was rehearsing with the usual set-up, some tremolo effect was on. I switch this effect off and after a while choose another switch: the sound doesn't change at all (volume, color, etc.) but on the other side the LED of the button I stomped on started blinking at a slow pace (on-off-on-off-...). Since then, it didn't work anymore. I tried restoring the factory setting (the two outer switches), but it didn't work at all: nothing changed. I didn't try supplying it by batteries because it's "ultimately" stuck to the velcro and I don't want to destroy the pedalboard before I know what to do first. What should I do? Thank you very much. Giorgio
  4. If you are having trouble with one of our four-button stompbox modelers, please try the following. - Use a different guitar, cables, and amp to make sure they are working correctly - Remove all other pedals between your instrument and the amplifier. Ensure that: - The cables you are using to test work correctly by plugging directly from the instrument into the amplifier. - All jacks and nuts on the pedal are tight. - The unit is receiving sufficient power from the correct power supply (Line 6 DC-1 for Tone core pedals, PX-2 for Modeling pedals). Do not use old batteries to test pedals. For Tonecore Pedals: * Lighter taps will set the tap tempo function while a heavier foot motion will activate the pedals on/off function. Make sure that you are activating the switch to turn the pedal on by putting your full weight on the pedal (sometimes it take a while for the actuator switch to be broken in). * Try a different Line 6 module in your dock, and try your module with a different dock to see where the malfunction is. For Stompbox Modeling Pedal (4-Button): Reset the pedal by having the power plugged in and pressing the A & D ('Tap' on the DL-4) button when plugging in the left mono input. If you are still having difficulty you will need to get the unit repaired at an authorized service center. All Line 6 Pedals carry a 12 month parts and labor warranty from the date of purchase. Please take a copy of the dated proof of purchase to ensure the warranty is covered. Product Repair Line 6 Product Warranty
  5. Q: How do I use an EX-1 Expression Pedal with a Stomp Box Modeling Pedal? A: Power off your stomp box modeler by unplugging the left/mono input. Next, plug in your expression pedal and set the expression pedal to the full heel down position. Plug the left/mono input back in and dial up a sound you like. Now press the expression pedal forward to the toe down position, and set one of more of your knobs to another setting. Rock back and forth on your expression pedal and you'll hear your sound blend between the two sound settings you just made. Store this sound into one of your pedals memories and the toe down and heel settings will be saved as well. Example of EX-1 connected to a DL4 Modeling Pedal: - Move EX-1 to heel down, adjust the delay settings on DL4. - Then move the expression pedal to toe. - Now change only the parameters that you want to be affected. - Heel to toe sweeps between those two settings. Q: Do I need to reprogram my changes with the EX-1 every time I plug the pedal in? A: You do not need to restart your effect unit everytime you want to reset the expression pedal. Your expression pedal settings will remain the way you set them up regardless of effect knob settings. Your expression pedal settings can be saved to the effects parameters saved by the footswitches. Q: Can I use one EX-1 Expression Pedal to control two modeling (4x4) pedals? A: There are a couple ways to approach running two modeling pedals with a single EX-1. Both methods require modification (as the ohm resistance will be cut in half): - Replace the 10k pot in the EX-1 with a 5k pot, and use a mono-split instrument cable to each modeling pedal. - Remove the second jack hole cover (labeled “output”) and install a second 1/4" mono jack here. Replace the existing mono 10K pot with a double-ganged or stereo 10K pot. Install the leads from each side of the pot to it's own dedicated output jack, then use one mono 1/4" cable per jack connected to each expression pedal input on the 4x4 pedal(s). Q: How can I get replacement stickers for my Stomp Box Modeling pedal? A: The stickers for the MM4 and DL4 are attached to this document for download and printing.
