datacommando
I rather liked: - In rare cases, the editor could free I thought that it has always been free. Just a thought - if DI had waited until tomorrow to post the update, he could have quoted: "May the fourth be with you!"

silverhead
...and for Windows users: Line 6 Driver2 Version 1.86 (Released 5/2/17) Hmmm... curious. I wonder if the driver update is actually important for this editor update? The editor release notes say that all you need to update is the editor itself, so I presume that means the driver update is not required. The timing is suspicious though. I guess we'll see if there are any problem reports that could be related.
specracer986
When you update the editor, won't the driver come with it? Or is that a separate download?
klangmaler
Yep, driver is included (Helix application installer lets you choose)...
silverhead
Yes, the driver and the Updater program are both bundled with the editor package installation file but when you run the installer you can choose (via check mark) which of the components you wish to install. My interpretation of the release notes for v2.21 is that you only have to install the editor itself. There seems to be no update to the Updater program so no need to install it. My question is: what about the driver? Does it NEED to be installed or not? No harm in installing it, just wondering if some people will get in trouble by not installing it. zooey
Can't imagine why it'd exist if it wasn't in some ways better. I'd say just do it. Why not? Not that I'm privy to any actual knowledge about it or anything...
silverhead
Can't imagine why it'd exist if it wasn't in some ways better. I'd say just do it. Why not? I agree. But some people may not do it. I just want to understand whether or not any reported problems can be related to that, so that I can guide/inform others accurately. I'm just suggesting we, as a well informed community, keep an eye on any reports.
davidb7170
This driver enables the HD Work Bench to work with/through the Helix. They started with Driver 1.85, this is version 1.86, the description says clears up some conflict between HD WB and the Helix Editor. The general recommendation was to not use Helix Editor and HD WB at the same time. Appears this clears that up: BUG FIXES:- In rare cases, certain actions performed in Workbench HD can cause Helix Editor to disconnect from Helix device - FIXED- other bug fixes and optimizations Dave
AlexKenivel
Im going to install the new driver because my USB connection to the Helix keeps dropping to the point where I don't even use it for the sake of the giant headache that it ensues. Hopefully it will help
soblivion
I see that this is only documented to be for Helix and Helix Rack. So Helix LT still uses the 2.20 editor I'm assuming? I have updated the USB drivers, but honestly I hadn't experienced any issues with the previous drivers.
