dankleiner
Hello, all: Has anyone created a clavinet patch? I need it for Stevie Wonder's Superstition. Thanks.
hideout
That might be asking a little too much from the Helix. I mean, it's not a synthesizer. Not sure how you think you be able to change the sound of a guitar's attack to mimic that of the very distinctive attack and tonality of a clavinet. hideout
Two words: Jeff Beck I think that's more technique than an amp setting or a pedal. Despite the fact that he uses a wah to accentuate the "clavinet" sound, it's mostly the way he plays his guitar that makes you think it sounds like a clav more than it really does. Yeah, my point was more not to worry about actually sounding like a clav, just do something cool. That riff is unmistakable, you could sound like SRV, JB, Metallica, anything, people will know the song, and groove if you do.

AlexKenivel
Play with some sharp eq spikes. Wah is a good idea because it's a move able eq spike
Rocco_Crocco
Listen to how good the intro sounds, just with a plain old clean-ish guitar sound... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59m6BoEVkng
mkornell
If I was blind I'd assume the guitarist was playing a Tele, not a Strat. That was a pretty decent cover.
jbuhajla
Use a Tele with the bridge pickup, and any of your favorite cleanish amps. The trick is in the articulation of the notes. Pick them hard and damp them with some subtle palm muting. You could add a little chorusy modulation effect in there too for some Clavinet/Fender Rhodes type feel.
