prudenjim
Hi Folks, I don't have much depth with Marshalls and have read through some threads (too many, IRs, etc.). I'd like to copy a sound which leverages the Silver Jubilee and there are no shortage of Marshall choices. Using stock amp and cabs, what will get me closest to start? Thanks in advance. DanielJW
I'd say the Brit 2204 should be somewhere in the ballpark, seeing as the Jubilee was somewhat based off of the JCM800, for the cabs I'd try out the a few of the 4x12 models and see what works best for you. I know a lot of people think there's too many Marshall style amps in the Helix but I'd happily take a Jubilee model, as it's my real world amp, it's got a nice dark overdrive with a thick low mid-range. I think a new Jubilee model would be a very welcomed addition to the Helix.
ric1966
I know you want to stay stock, but $12 will get you a genuine Celestion Redback closed 4x12 IR package. The high gain mixed microphone file in that package sounds amazing paired with a Brit 2204 MOD amp model. With a little tweaking it can get very close to the recorded SJ sounds I’ve heard. If you really don’t want to go the IR route, check out some of Jason Sadites’ videos on YouTube. He has some great methods for dialing in stock cabs. https://www.celestionplus.com/

cruisinon2
He has some great methods for dialing in stock cabs. https://www.celestionplus.com/ His videos are interesting...I've applied some of his ideas to a couple of 3 Sigma IR's that I already had sounding pretty good...tightened them up nicely. But I find that doing the same with the stock cabs resulted in a much more nasal, mid-rangey tone that I didn't care for at all. Different guitar, monitors, etc... Just more evidence of how individual all this stuff is. Try it all and see what works folks...you can duplicate somebody else's settings all day long and get radically different results. VirtualGuitars
I need to learn how to use IRs for these types of configurations. I have a Marshall Silver Mini Jubilee which has the same preamp as the 2555x and I would also love to duplicate the sound.
zivdud
Glenn DeLaune has a great preset package with a 1969 Marshall Silver Jubilee that uses an IR that he made from his own amp. I have been loving it and using it on a couple of my songs and also I am using it with another Marshall amp to get as close as a John Frusciante tone as I can muster because that jubilee and the Marshall Major is what he uses live. VirtualGuitars
Hi All, I did a little research on the Marshall Silver Jubilee reissue cabinets (2551AV, 2551BV, 2536, and 2536A) and the Marshall Mini Jubilee (2525C) speaker(s): 2551AV/2551BV (original models) Speaker model 4 x Celestion Vintage 30 https://www.celestionplus.com/products/irs-by-speaker/vintage-30/ -- or -- Speaker model 4 x Celestion G12T-75 https://www.celestionplus.com/products/irs-by-speaker/g12t-75/ 2551AV/2551BV (current models) Speaker model 4 x Celestion G12 Vintage (16Ω, 70w) https://marshall.com/marshall-amps/products/cabinets/2551av-and-2551bv/ https://www.celestionplus.com/products/irs-by-speaker/v-type/ 2536/2536A (current models) Speaker model 2 x Celestion G12 Vintage (16Ω, 70w) https://marshall.com/marshall-amps/products/cabinets/2536-and-2536a https://www.celestionplus.com/products/irs-by-speaker/v-type/ Marshall Mini Jubilee 2525C Combo (current model) Speaker model 1 x Celestion G12M-25 (16Ω, 25w) https://marshall.com/marshall-amps/products/amps/mini-jubilee/2525c/ https://www.celestionplus.com/products/irs-by-speaker/g12m/ I am not new to the Helix, but I am new to using IRs in general. I have a Marshall 2525C Mini Jubilee that comes with a single Celestion G12M-25 (16Ω, 25w) speaker, but the preamp is the same as it's big brother the 2555X. Not sure if this helps anybody else, but I thought I would share what I just bought from Celestion. Thanks, David
cush4x
I have a Firehawk - which has a Silver Jubilee - and I can get a great Bonamassa like mid-range honk sound a la Beacon/SloeGin. I bought a Helix about a year ago thinking I would have that sound plus more. Its been elusive....close but elusive. Lots of good purchased patches from Glenn or Marco come close but its just not the same. I wish Helix would include the Jubilee! BTW, the Helix features and sound quality exceed the Firehawk....but I can't get that tone!
VirtualGuitars
Our problems have been solved! I just purchased the amp pack and cab pack from ML Sound Lab and man do they sound good! https://ml-sound-lab.com/products/mars-silver https://ml-sound-lab.com/collections/amp-packs/products/mars-silver-helix
steelstringer
I would not rule out the Cartographer In this discussion. It’s got some Marshall influences in it for sure, especially with the gain1 knob cranked ( gain 2 around 9 o’clock). It’s my go to Marshall tone in the Helix, and I use it in conjunction with the stock cab 4x12 Greenback 25. Give it a shot.
MLSoundLab
So happy to see you guys talk about one of my personal favorite amps of all time. Timing couldn't be better as I just matched the Helix to sound exactly like the real amp from 1987 and released a pack for both the cabinet and amp sounds. Here's a demo of the amp sounds completely raw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGWlsWnNtqo And here's me going through the Cab Pack (which is also from '87, remember that the design of a modern V30 is radically different sounding to these actual cabs from over 30 years ago): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c8AtFWISS4

Get two packs and the second one is 20% off. But I'm sure you meant the price is too low right?
spikey
Actually no, $40.00 US is a bit expensive for me. So if I buy 2 @ $80.00 and the 3rd is $20.00, that equals a hundred bucks. Hit me up at the Christmas half-price deals, and I might then. ; )
MLSoundLab
That's 20% off the second pack, not the third. So that should make it ~$60,67 for two packs. I wish we all just had the same currency. :S

They are definitely some of the best ive heard. I know its a little different but its better than getting beat over the head for an IR.
